Cat was sick with pain when urinating. Called and brought her in, waited in exam room for over an hour holding onto cat. Finally Dr. Rosen (20 something Vet) came in and when I said I would just like to have her urine analyzed and an antibiotic given, saying I would come back if that didnt work (this is what regular Doctors do when you have a urinary track infection. Not out of the ordinary at all!) she refused to give her ANY TREATMENT AT ALL unless I agreed for X-rays and this test and that! Saying it would be $600.00. I said OK because it was a Saturday, the cat was in pain and finding another open Vet would be difficult and my baby was suffering. They whisked her off to the back saying they will give fluids and take urine test, Xray etc. Told me to come back in a few hours. I did, they then said she would now cost $800.00 for this and that! I said "not like I have a choice in the matter!" They then bring out the cat who I suspect was not even out of her pen! They had given her an injection of antibiotic, told me I couldnt see the Xray b/c Dr. is in room, but that she had Kidney stones. Soaked me for some special kidney stone dissolving cat food (LOL!) and final bill was over $900! When I got her home, I noticed they did not shave her fur to get blood ANYWHERE on her! I then noticed she was not given fluids either! I had a cat who I had to get fluids for kidney failure, and he always had an alcoholy smell to him and the spots were shaved. I suspect the cat was not out of her box AT ALL except to give an injection! Then they threw her back in their and threw her bedding on top of her because it was upside down and on top of her! She is not a scardy cat type, does not hide under bed! I asked several area vets "Do you always shave spot to get blood from cat" yes, they do. Spoke to owner, he said vet who racked up the charges would give me a call. She never did. Emailed him about it, no answer. They wisk your pet off and all I saw who was working in the back was a couple of goofy looking (had to be) 16 year old boys and one very overworked older women tending to all these dogs. Guess they couldnt be bothered with a cat who had a simple urinary track infection!

Im not going to use 1 star because they are not that horrible. They get the job done I guess. We were going there for 1 and half year before we understood that "they get paid for their services". Im not a animal care professional and I have no right to judge what care is required when you bring your dog, cat ... but we got to point that something doesnt add up... (Lets say we and some other people we spoke about this place think that we were recommended some lets call it "unnecessary" care...) DONT get me wrong! Im not complaining regarding the cost of provided services what has to be done and sometimes you have to do more things to be sure you find the problem (I understand when you provide services you deserve to get paid), Ill pay "anything" for what has to be done, but if you go to Dr. with broken leg and he recommends to x-ray your both hands just in case and check your ear for infection... ??? We were going thru this because we take our Dog as part of family, we thought "all that" was necessary,,, but again... we start reading between the lines... Let me cut it here, I have no hard feelings, we were not satisfied with what we experienced there. The good thing here is: We looked / asked around and found different place, it is a bit far, but after just few visits we are more than glad we finally did that. We already met few people who share the same feeling as we do and I guess that is why Im writing this (I dont think it is me here...). I honestly believe we get much better care overall from this new place! But this review is not regarding the new place / my point is I / we experienced something else and this is based on fact that you can clearly see the difference now...

After using Yorktown Animal Hospital for Years and spending Thousands of Dollars, On January 27, 2012, I had a request for the Vet to come to my home to examine my beloved 19 year old kitten who might needed to be put down. The receptionist took my name and number, said she would ask the doctor and would get back to me.That call was placed at 3:30 PM when we saw how sick our boy became. I asked for a house call because the last time we took him to Yorktown Animal Hospital he was so stressed out there and back home. We never saw him that way before. When I hung up with the receptionist, I continued my calling to find a Vet. that would come to our home and I did find one that would. In the mean time it was 7:00 PM, Did you hear from the receptionist from Yorktown Animal Hospital? Well I hear from her the same way you did, not at all. I called and stated my name and asked if the doctor could come to our home. She the receptionist said no the doctor could not. I said well it is now 7:00 PM when were you going to call Me? She stated that she was busy to call back. I was dumfounded with her statement about returning my call and said good bye! WOW Isnt this about the Animals? Mitakuye Oyasin (all my relations)! IF IT NOT ABOUT THE ANIMALS, GET OUT OF THE BUSINESS I have nothing more to say at this point. My family are going someplace else! Thunder Snow

Caring, loving, human staff. If youre straight up with the staff about your finances, theyll help you out and tell you whats the best use of your money - and what steps you can take to save / what steps you dont want to cheap out on. Its only gotten better year after year, they were very accommodating to my 130b+ dog for whatever the problem was. I also took my late dog there to rest when he was ill, and they were truly compassionate. I cant say anything about their kennel - I never used their services. I have another place I use for anything overnight or longer.... this is Not the cheapest place in Westchester - (That being said - Westchester is NOT a cheap place to live!) If you want a vet that can cut the games with you when you need to talk money, yet still be the sweetest and most professional vet to your pet - go here.

Vets were nice ... One specific receptionist were rude and unprofessional. I went to try a new vet and explained the issues my dog was having and what my current vet was doing was not helping my dog at all. I left with a huge bill and with the same medicine that I stated didnt work. I now go to Croton on the Hudon vet and they are amazing. My dog was given an Injection that was not even mentioned in my visit here and it has AMAZING results, I am not charged an exam fee and I leave w a decent bill. I have never experienced such a horrendous receptionist who then proceeded to friend me on all social media accounts.
