I have been coming to Dr. Kaplan since the early 90s. I used to get ginormous pimples on my forehead. He was able to clear that up nicely after experimenting with a few different medications. He also did cosmetic laser work on my face that came out beautifully. I have moved to Long Beach so It is quite a drive to Beverly Hills but I have not been able to find a dermatologist in Long Beach that is anywhere close to Dr. Kaplan in their skills, latest equipment and services. I have been to half a dozen other doctors over the years and always ended up going back to Dr. Kaplan and wishing I had just gone there in the first place. Now I have two teenagers with acne popping up. I took them to two local doctors and was not happy with the lack of services offered or the results from the medications they prescribed. We are back with Dr. Kaplan and again I wish I had just come to him in the first place. After one visit, within one month we have great results from the face wash and topical medication he prescribed and he removed black heads from my sons ears, the other doctors do not do extractions anymore? Dr. Kaplan is very skilled, when he removes a mole or growth or extracts a pimple you can be confident that he will minimize or eliminate scaring.

I was referred to Dr. Stuart Kaplan by a friend in Los Angeles after discovering a few bald spots in my beard and scalp. I made the appointment, wanting to confirm my suspicions of Alopecia and to discuss treatment options. I was hoping for some education and information, but left his office less certain of my condition and with few medications without any application instructions. I made another appointment for an explanation of how to apply to two creams I purchased with his prescription. The second appointment was equally as uninformative and lousy as the first. Each visit he gave me a shot of a common steroid at a shockingly inflated price, nearly 4 times the average price of the medication. He also "insisted" on a take home antibiotic(Cephalexin), that I would purchase from his office for nearly five times the price of a major pharmacy. My feeling is that he is another over extended Beverly Hills doctor attempting to stay above float with transaction focused medicine. If you need a shot a of Botox, he may be your man, but when you need a doctor, do yourself a favor and keep looking.

I am extremely happy with Dr. Kaplan. He really knows his stuff and takes his time to carefully examine each patient and thoroughly explain any procedure. Having been to several dermatologists in the past who (a) didnt really know what they were doing, but busily tried to push botox on me, or (b) who rushed me through the exam process without answering my questions or (c) who misdiagnosed a simple problem, only to push some expensive antibiotic on me . . .well, Dr. Kaplan is a god send!! I am totally confident that any skin problem, large or small, will be expertly taken care of by Dr. Kaplan.

Dr. Kaplan has many years of experience as a dermatologist and our family has always had excellent experiences working with him, both for medical concerns and cosmetic. Whether it is evaluating moles, removing a growth, piercing our daughters ears, or counseling and performing aesthetic procedures, Dr. K is compassionate and takes time to listen. Great sense of humor, he is mild-mannered and not pretentious. His prices are consistent with the zip code; however aesthetic procedures should only be performed by skilled, board -certified physicians, not purchased in a "Groupon" fashion.

Dr. Kaplan interested in charging for more than what is necessary. My grandmother is old with wrinkles. She went to see Dr. Kaplan because she had irritating red marks on her face. Kaplan could not diagnose what was wrong with her after 3 visits, he lost his temper, talked so loud to grandma and made her cry. We finally end up to see Dr. Rhonda Rand. She immediately diagnosed it as insect bites, gave her medicine for it. Dr. Rhonda Rand is great. She graduated from Harvard Medical School. My friends like Dr. Jessica Wu, Simon Ourian and Jonathan Shifren. They are from Harvard too.

Very Profesional! I was in sales all my life and was expecting the Dr to sale me stuff but he was reasonable and gave me samples saying you dont need to buy I have some me samples for you, -how nice is that.. I came to this guy (52) cause i know he is a professor in UCLA, happy I made a that choice. About the prices - you get what you pay for! Buy cheap get cheap!

I have been a Concierge at many of LAs finest hotels over the last 12 years (Shutters, Casa del Mar, Beverly Wilshire and Hotel Bel-Air). I have always been able to refer Dr. Kaplan to my guests requiring a Dermatologist with the utmost confidence. He is kind and caring. He makes my guests feel comfortable and well looked after and so I trust him explicitedly.

If your looking to put a stop to forehead lines, go see Dr. Kaplan. He is amazing! The procedure is very quick and gives natural looking results. Only complaint is the products they try to push onto you. I prefer to go the natural herbal route and found that sort of irritating. Anyway, Dr.Kaplan is extremely nice and does truly care. Highly recommend him!

He is getting old and dumb, trying to get more money to retire. My son went to him to have tattoos removal. Dr Kaplan charged over 5 times(or 10 times) more than the market and made my son felt very painful. The only reason I can think of is he wants more money to retire, but he doesnt want to do more work since he is old and stupid.

WORST docotor I have ever been to. They are extremely unprofessional and have horrible customer service. They actually sent me to collections for not paying a bill when they never even submitted it to my insurance. Dr. Kaplan is also extremely rude and obnoxious.

Dr. Kaplan is very knowlegeable but at the same time is a good listener. He is very professional and skilled at his profession. I had to get a biopsy and he did not even leave a scar! He is also his own skin care line that is made from natural ingriedients. :)
