I made an appointment for 10am and showed up about 10 minutes early to do all of the paperwork. I finished all of the paperwork before 10am; however, at 10:30am I was still sitting in the very crowded and small waiting room. Then, the front desk staff told me that this appointment was just a consultation and I would not receive any treatment that day unless the Dr. decided otherwise, which was unlikely. While I was considering not bothering to wait any longer, they claimed the doctor was ready to see me and took me to a cold room in the back of the office where I sat for another 10 minutes without any human contact. Near the end of that 10-minute period, I called Dr. Derek Levy in Hermosa, who was able to get me in that day. Hence, I walked out of Bates office an hour after I entered and never even saw Dr. Bates! I went to see Dr. Levy in his very pleasant office, my appointment occurred as scheduled, and he expertly treated me on the spot - go there if you want excellent chiropractic treatment. Dont waste your time at Bates Chiropractic - youll lose time and sanity if you do.

Bates is the BEST. The spine is the power cord of the body. If it gets a "kink", nerves will be affected. For the past 11 years, whenever I feel weakness, am slow to heal, or develop the "back cough", I know I have subluxations and Dr. Bates knows how to pin point areas on the spine that are causing problems. After years of poor posture and vision related head positioning, my tailbone seemed to just collapse one day and my back and legs were burning and itching. I was a skeptic but in such desperation, I found Dr. Bates in the yellow pages and made and appointment. Now, I am a believer. After and exam and exercises and weekly adjustments, all of the symptoms stopped and I was able to recommend people with CONFIDENCE to Dr. Bates and assure them that chiropractic makes sound sense. Dr. Bates will work with you on a pay plan if you dont have insurance and he will put you on the right track with hands on adjustments AND EDUCATION.

I cannot say enough about Dr. Bates. He is the most knowledgeable and compassionate chiropractor that Ive ever been to. I have scoliosis, which has been debilitating for me all of my my adult life, especially after my twin pregnancy. I was ready to give up on my back and resort to a miserable, sedentary life of narcotic pain meds and suffering until I found Dr. Bates. I had been to every type of specialist imaginable, including many chiropractors in California. Nobody was able to help get me back on my feet again and out of pain, except for Dr Bates. His passion and drive for helping others is something I have never seen before. That, along with his knowledge in spinal/corrective care is absolutely unbeatable. Being 24, I thought that I wouldnt have to deal with spinal issues until later on in adulthood. Obviously this is not the case. The way in which you carry your body will govern the outcome of your health, level of motivation, and overall well-being. I am getting treated here and WOW do I feel better. They have very friendly and helpful staff. Dr. Bates truly cares about his patients, and works with each patients individual needs, but focuss on corrective ways to prevent subluxations and get your spine and body working the way it should. If you want to improve your health and feel better, call then and schedule an exam. I am normally very hesitant of doctors promises to fix everything. I came in because of ocasional back pain. THIS IS MUCH IMPROVED now, and even my sinus problems are improving. I went from skeptic to believer. If you want to improve your health, and feel better, call and schedual a exam with Dr. Bates. I have been going to chiropractors off and on since I was elementary age due to a motor vehicle accident. Each one has used different technology, instruments, and manipulation techniques. Ive spent the past year under the care of Dr. Bates and he has been my favorite by far! Hes efficient and effective as well as courteous and personable. Even his staff members will make you feel at ease with pleasantries in conversation and music to soothe the soul. Trusting the care of your spine to someone is not a simple task. After one visit to Bates Chiropractic, youll realize this is where the care needs to be held.

After a mountain bike accident and landing on my head, my arms both went numb from the shoulder down. The doctors afterseveral tests and scans said my only option was to operate and fuse the bones in my neck together. I refused surgery so after much debate they finally said they would agree to cortisone shots in my neck every six months, again I refused that option .As a last resort they agreed to allow me to have chiropractic care and physical therapy but did not recommend it and had very little confidence that it would work .That was 12years ago and I feel great . Chiropractic care saved me.

Ive been seeing chiropractors for nearly 40 years, and Dr. Bates is a whole different deal. His approach has provided relief others didnt. I assumed I was just going to be in pain and have a limited range of motion for the rest of my life. Now Im enjoying being active again. He zeroes in on problem spots with an understanding and intuition Ive not encountered before. And his adjustments dont leave me hurting, as some have. He clearly cares about the whole person, and is on a mission to share his knowledge and healing to as many people as he can.

Initially I was very nervous to have adjustments & had no idea of all the benefits chiropractic could provide! Not only I immediately felt like my spine & posture have been moved back into alignment but in everything Ido throughout the day,I see a marked improvement in my attention to my sitting / standing posture. Came to see Dr Bates because of shoulder pain once he did the X-rays I found out I have 7 subluxations in my neck 3 weeks into treatment Im already feeling better even started to use my shoulder in various ways from raising lifting and even sleeping on my side I highly recommend Dr Bates to anyone who wants to be pain free thanks Rob
