On Friday, April 20, I happened to catch a TV segment of Michael Finney speaking of, among other "Finneys Friday Freebies", a program called "Dentistry from the Heart" which sponsored a day of free dental care, scheduled the next day at the offices of Guri S. Dhaliwal, DMD, in San Ramon. I was very pleased to learn of this opportunity, as I am in need of an extraction of a broken molar. The online announcement gave the instruction: registration at 7:00 a.m., service from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. I left my Millbrae residence for the 40-mile drive to San Ramon at about 5:30 that Saturday morning, arriving at Dr. Dhaliwals offices just before 6:30 a.m., to find the registration area already crowded. I filled out the necessary paperwork and was told I would be the 20th patient of the day (they were going to ultimately accommodate at least 50). The volunteer staff handling the event was, I should note, very pleasant, professional, and easy to communicate with. By the time I was moved from the registration area to the dental office next door, it was 9:00 a.m. Not Too Bad, I thought; maybe theyll get to me in the next hour or so.... Well, I waited patiently, and with my customary good humor, until they finally called me in for an X-Ray, at noon. After the digital shot was taken, I was moved to a different dental chair, where one of Dr. Dhaliwals colleauges brusquely took a cursory look at my molar, only to tell me, "Well, it needs to be extracted, all right, but I dont have the right tool for it here. Its in my own office, which is located nearby, if youd like to schedule another appointment". This future appointment would not, unfortunately, be covered under the "Dentistry from the Heart" program, and therefore I would be charged for a regular office visit and extraction fee. I suddenly felt as numb as if he had injected me full of Novocaine! So, I asked him, I drove 40 miles in a sleep-deprived state and sat in two waiting rooms for five-and-a-half hours, only to be told you didnt bring the instrument for this extraction from your office?? All he could say was "Sorry...!" The only thing extracted that day was cash from my wallet for gasoline & tolls for an 80-mile round trip, while my broken molar still sits, awaiting the service I was falsely promised! I think the concept behind this program is a noble one, but my friend who called Dr.Dhaliwals office was told by someone named Charles that this was, indeed, a marketing ploy to attract new patients, and she indicated that he showed absolutely NO concern about the ordeal I went through. Obviously, I cannot in good conscience recommend Dr. Dhaliwals service to anyone, and in fact will warn away all who might be considering a professional relationship. I also will alert the sponsors of the "Dentistry from the Heart" program, Michael Finneys office, and the agencies which oversee the dental practitioners in California. My aforementioned friend is extremely active in social media, and has over 5,000 Facebook friends, so we will spread the word.... (BTW, Im still wondering why the form I filled out asked for my Social Security #, when this was supposedly a free service -- a credit check, perhaps??)

I cannot say anything bad about Dr. D and his team.My family and I have trusted him with our dental care since moving to the area in 2003. What do I like? Well, the text message appointment confirmation, front desk friendliness from Monica, the secret stash of protein shakes and drinks when your running late and need a boost. Cathy is awesome for cleaning teeth. My kids are excited to see her and have her scrape all the built up junk from their mediocre brushings. Dr. D and Roger are a great team for working on those fillings and other repair work. Dr.D has made the place such a comfortable environment with neck pillows (warmed upon request) and headphones to listen to your favorite Pandora station. One of the best things about going to his office is being treated like family. Dr. D and staff not only about your oral care but is interested in you and making sure you have an exceptional experience.

I have been coming to Dr. Dhaliwal for many years. Initially I came here because he was in my neighborhood. I have since moved 20 miles away but still come back here because this office is so awesome. The atmosphere is very relaxed and Dr. Dhaliwal is so patient , puts me at ease by answering all my questions and moves at a pace that keeps me comfortable during procedures. Kathy his hygienist is equally awesome, friendly and very knowledgeable which keeps me smiling. I give this office 5 stars because they consistently provide great service! I am lucky to have found them.

Cathy is the best. I dont think I have ever trusted a dentist like I trust her. I have changed dentists since 2013 when I moved to East Bay from SF. Since then I couldnt find anyone I think knows what theyre doing - until I found this Clinic. She is very passionate with her clients to make sure to have your dental health are all well and great. She explains everything and very understanding. She did a 180 on my overall dental health and I am very happy with the results. I recommend this clinic if you are looking for the best and excellent quality of service.

Ive been using the same dentist in the bay area for 15 years before moving out in the tri valley. Ive done a lot of research and finally decided to give Dr. Dhaliwal a try. Both Dr. Dhaliwal and Cathy are incredibly knowledgable and incredibly considerate. They would describe each procedure in significant details and during the procedure, they would constantly ask how i was doing. It was not until i went to this practice that i know there are so many new technologies in dentistry and how amazingly the industry evolved in the last decade or so.

I am NOT a fan of going to the dentist and generally avoid it like the plague! My husband has been telling me for 2 years that I have to go see his dentist, Dr Dhaliwal, and I finally decided that my dental visit was way overdue and took his advice and saw Dr D. I had the best experience! I felt like I was going to a spa for my mouth. The staff were amazing, the facility top notch and the service unparalleled. I have finally found the place I can go every 6 months to keep my teeth in tip top condition and will actually look forward to it now!

I chose this dentist years ago in search of the perfect office. Im very picky due to years of bad dentistry. I dont feel like my gums get tore up by the hygienist with a cleaning like most other places Ive been, but my teeth feel completely clean and great when I leave. Dr. Dhaliwal is very professional, skilled, and always keeps his practice up-to-date with the latest technology. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. My teeth have never been in better care. You truly wont have a better experience than with this office.

Being someone who has always had a fear of the dentist, Id find any excuse to NOT keep my appointment and then I found Dr. Dhaliwal and his staff. I still have my issues with going the dentist, but in all honestly I have no reason too. This place is great, I always feel comfortable there. They really are the greatest group of people and they are always very attentive to my needs. Trust me, dentist fears or not, you really should make an appointment, You wont be disappointed, you might even like going to the dentist again.
