I went here based on recommendations and proximity to home. The place was staffed by disingenuous young people. They insisted that my cat have a rabies shot and when the doctor came in he administered it to her immediately before the examination. He then refused to examine her further when she became agitated and did not feel her abdomen which is a crucial part of the exam but offered to give her an x ray. A very disappointing experience with unprofessional people. It was the end of the day and there werent any senior staff to be noted. I would suggest to the owner that he provide more supervision. There is a problem from the front desk to the doctors. Techs seemed OK but they were all uptight and kept reciting the "rules" that I was not "allowed" to go near her inside the office. This has never happened anywhere else I have been and I plan on going back to those places. The doctor seemed to lack experience as well as warmth.

My niece brought her dog in to get checked out because her dog was limping on one leg and they thought he mightve hurt himself and broken a bone. The doctor that saw the dog was rude and very rough with her dog, pulling on his ear, his legs and hurting him. Naturally if a dog or any animal feels threatened or scared they will become defensive, so her dog tried nipping at the doctor. Instead of trying to calm the dog down or being more gentle, he instead had the audacity to tell my niece that if her dog bites him he will sue her! I just couldnt believe it. My niece had no choice but to let them muzzle him! After the so called examination, he gave her no explanation as to what might be wrong with his leg. He prescribed some medicine to her and then charged her almost $100 for doing nothing! This is so infuriating that I had to write a review and let others know the type of people that work here. Do not bring your pets here!

Unfortunately I cannot recommend Mill Plain Veterinary Clinic. We went there with our two cats and the quality of service and care we received was awful. For our first appointment, the receptionist made an error in our booking and sent us away after we had taken an afternoon off work for the appointment. Then, we found out that an unqualified vet was answering our questions regarding international pet travel. Also, they insisted on re-microchipping our cats even though they had already been microchipped by another vet. Seems like they were trying rack up fees. So, an incompetent receptionist, unqualified vet answering international travel questions and unnecessary billable work. I wouldnt trust Mill Plain Veterinary Clinic with the health of our little guys!

Dr Shelly and Theresa and the Staff When we 1st Came to you with Pepper I asked for Gods best. We know his condition was grave with that 2 lb tumor on a 15 lb dog. I expected Gods best and I got it. You guys gave Pepper 3 great months of incredible health. I dont think he was ever that energetic, happy and hungry. No signs of any illness at all. No throw up or diarrhea until the inevitable last days. We are thankful for all your help God has surely blessed your clinic. And God blessed us with meeting you. Jamie Tracy Carly Jake and Pepper

DO NOT SEE Dr. Kristoffer Bauer. Has ZERO bedside manner. You can clearly see he is more interested in making a buck and pushing the rabies shots on an indoor cat vs actually treating the animal. I have seen the other two Drs who are more experienced, and although they push a lot of unnecessary testing/shots, at least they appear to be a little more sympathetic. Would never recommend this dr. my cat was suffering from kidney disease and this Child (aka the dr) could have cared less in treating him. it was simply all about making a buck!

First time to the Mill Plain Veterinary Clinic. I brought our two year old cat in for a routine checkup and booster shot. Dr. Baruffo and the vet tech were both incredibly friendly, easy to talk to, and gentle. The exam rooms arent very sound proof so our cat was a little nervous/shy from barking dogs, etc. Our room wasnt the cleanest and was a little aged, not sure if the rest of them are that way. Overall a positive experience. Not the best bet clinic that weve been to but I would go back.

Brought my dog there 3 months ago for a nose that would not stop running. They kept giving me creams and medications, but never took a culture to see what the real infection was. Now I have gone to a new vet and the first thing they did was take a culture of her nose and they found out that is was MRSA, and it had spread into her eye. Now our dog has to have her eye removed! We have spent a lot of money and now even more because of them. Do not bring you animal there.

This place seems to be one of the few that care about the animal, over profits. I have been their customer for more than 15 years,and have taken 7 cats and 3 dogs there over the years. Never have I been overcharged, or been put thru needless testing. Their diagnosis has been correct on almost every occasion, and they are humane in their care. I highly recommend this clinic for anyone. Dr. Chappa and Dr. Steinmetz are outstanding!

Of all the vets we have used over the years we have found none better than Shelly and the team at Mill plain vet, He is a classically trained veterinarian, who knows and understands owners concerns. He is very realistic in his treatment approach and kind and gentle. We moved to an area that made for a long drive but rather than visit a closer vet we opted for the quality of care provided by Dr. Steinmetz

Dr. Steinmetz and staff are amazing...we have been to many other local veterinarians and could write a book on the level of poor staffing and animal care we received not to mention outrageous invoices for issues that did not exist...From the receptionists to the Doctors the treatment is the best around...I refer to Dr. Shelly as the "EINSTEIN" of Veterinary medicine!

I absolutely love Mill Plain Veterinary Clinic I have been going there for the last 25 years since it was open I have always found the doctors to be great especially dr. Steinmetz. All of the technicians are smart caring and kind. When I call there they immediately answer the phone and are always very helpful I dont know that I could ask for more.

The amazing staff at Mill Plain Vet saved my cats life and I couldnt be more grateful. They called me each day with an update and really took the time to explain her condition and the treatment options. Not only did my cat receive great care, it was reasonably priced. As a poor person I felt stigmatized, but as I recover from harsh losses and Im not as stressed as I was, I feel the office staff is rising to the integrity of the doctors. The doctors always treated me fairly, and with kindness and respect, as I tried my best to care for my animal family.
