BEWARE!!! INSURANCE SCAM BEFORE MEDICAL ETHICS! The office is decent. Wait time is normal. Although appointments are scheduled in advance, other doctors appeared to be on call at the time of the appointment, so it is very difficult to see or have a conversation with Dr. Contreras to address parents normal concerns or ask questions about the milestones, behavior and overall health of your child. I had two bad experiences with her doctors office. First Dr. Contreras diagnosed my son with bronchitis without doing any previous tests, which ended up in hundreds of dollars spent on medicine and a nebulizer, only to discover days later through x-rays that my son did not need the treatment, since he did not have bronchitis. A few months later, after a physical examination required by the school to enter kindergarten, the office allergist diagnosed my son with several allergies which he has never shown symptoms of. I was informed two months after the treatment was already billed to my insurance, that my son had to inject 3-4 times a week for a period of 8 months, treatment that no one even took the time to explain to me what it was about. When I met the allergist to ask if there were other treatments available and to return the injectable medication that was prescribed, she refused to work with me to find other options that would make me and my 4 year old son feel more comfortable and safe. The pediatrician once again was nowhere around to participate in the discussion. The allergist finally told me that I could just "toss the medicine" or they could store it for a year in case I changed my mind. There was no interest on her part to find other methods to treat my sons allergies, as the first $2,000 treatment had already been charged in full. The flexibility and willingness to work with the parents is nonexistent. I would not recommend this pediatric office to anyone whos active and involved in their childrens wellbeing.

My girls and I absolutely love Dr. Contreras and the staff. We have been coming for many years. My only complaint and reason why I am highly considering switching is the lack of separate sick/well areas for kids and the office size and state. I understand we are not in Coral Gables, but if there is not going to be separation between sick and well children, at the very least the waiting area should be larger. Also, it seems the AC is always broken in the waiting area and often times there is nit enough seating. It makes me sad because we truly love them, but compared to the other location we came from by Sunset, I feel this place seems neglected. Wish it would be spruced up and maybe expanded.

This is an excellent pediatrician. She listens and cares to the highest possible standard, on behalf of all children. I am so thankful for coming to this practice, she always takes her time to conclude the best treatment. I believe her expertise is from her experience in health care, ranging from asthma to all other health concerns. Thank you.
