I have mostly positive feelings about this place. I have had some good interactions and some bad memories attributed here. The bad: We are always rushed with one particular doctor, Dr. Kim. Although she seems good with the animals, the fact that she barely listens to your questions, doesnt make eye contact and rushes you through makes us uncomfortable. She also doesnt really look at the animals - just a quick swipe-through of the teeth, eyes and ears, and a quick listen to the heart. My guinea pig had something on his back, and not only did she barely touch or look at it, she just gave us some OTC options that we couldve tried at home without even bringing him in and having to pay $55 for him just to be glanced at. For the kitten, I guess they were fine, but I never know what they do when they bring the animals to the back for bloodwork and shots. The other main issue I have is that when I call to get price estimates on what needs to be done to the animals, I ALWAYS get quoted a different, higher price once I am there. And they do not work with you on payment. ONE TIME I was allowed to pay half and then set up an automatic payment for the other half a few days later once my paycheck went in, but Dr. Kim said that NEVER should have been done. It seems Dr. Kim sets these prices and will not work with you on any payment plan. When you go in expecting one price, and your budget is tight, and you have allotted a certain amount, and then get there and get told something almost entirely different, and you do not have the money to pay for it all, it is extremely frustrating and defeating. She actually makes you feel badly that you cannot do certain things for your pet because you do not have the money - like you are a bad pet parent. My husband and I always seem to leave feeling awful after we see her - and we always end up getting stuck with her as our doctor. For the guinea pigs - we have no choice, she is the exotic vet; however for my cats, I ask to see someone else, and somehow get shuffled off to her because there is no other vet available. The good: The place is gorgeous and well-kept. It is bright, spacious and open - and CLEAN! The staff and techs are always polite and friendly. They remember you and your pets names and talk with and see to you and your pets every need. THEY are the reason I continue to go to this clinic. When one of my guinea pigs had to be put down, they made me this cute little shadowbox with his paw print in plaster. Unexpected, and very much appreciated. The girls make this place. Also, the clinic is VERY good at contacting you if there is any change to the appointment, vet or time. They also have a wonderful text option where they will text you with a reminder to confirm and then the day of, remind you of the time you have to be there. All in all - we do like this place. The treatment itself is good, and the animals seem OK when we leave. I just wish they would work with you on monetary situations and the vet had a little better of a bedside manner. I would recommend them to anyone trying to find a nice, organized, friendly office with good pet care. However, be on guard with over-the-phone pricing, price gouging and vet personalities. But it is really your opinion that matters...my feelings about Dr. Kim may not necessarily be your opinion. Try them out for yourself! :)

VERY surprised to see all these good ratings?.... My TERRIBLE experience was a few years ago...and I have never forgotten it and I tell people all the time about my HORRIBLE/SCARY experience with this place.... THIS IS THE WORST VET I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO! Infact, They mis-diagnosed my dog after multiple visits... and STILL NEVER GOT IT RIGHT! Unfortunately I had an emergency and this place was my only option that was opened....Such a tight cramped feel...and such a noisy place. They took x rays and they saw my dogs sutures from being spayed....and thought she ate acorns?? HAHA!! come to find out... those were not acorns...but sutures...(found this out from my vet).... guess it was an old school procedure, so it looks like Johnscreek is so "New school" they didnt even recognize this...which is frightening to say the least. I would rather an Old school vet treat my dog, because they have seen it all and know their stuff. Much wiser! After 3 visits and meds..nothing and I mean they took blood, xrays, urine sample... EVERYTHING (all a lot of nothing) !! They tried to tell me anything they could ...even said my dog had bad hips..which clearly the x rays showed she didnt. They were also frustrated with me because my dog wasnt getting better...and I wouldnt take no for an answer. I dont care how much money..test my dog and give me answers... all those test...ummm...that did NOTHING..... I came home to my 1 year old dog struggling to breathe!!!!. Rushed her to Heart Of Animal Hospital and boom! They treated her and figured out that she had eaten a stick and had a terrible infection from a wound in her throat from where the stick poked her throat lining. (puppies do eat things) made sense.... My little baby was better in 2 days! Atleast Johnscreek Clinic, did refund me for all the 3 visits and x-rays and medication that was unnecessary but the fact that my dog had a threatening infection was the main important issue! These people need to go back to vet school.... thank god for the educated Staff at Heart of Suwanee Animal Hospital for saving my dogs life! Dont waste your money, time, or energy here. This place is a joke! If you dont care about your animal...then yea take "it" here. No I do NOT recommend anyone take their pet here.

My parents took our family dog, Zoey, to JCVC when I was growing up. Zoey had diabetes and so needless to say she required more care than a typical dog as she aged. The staff at JCVC was wonderful in helping my family learn about medications, care options, and keeping Zoey comfortable. So it was only natural that when I got a dog of my own, Theo, I began taking him here. The main vets have also been the same all these years, which shows dedication to their job and their love of animals! JCVCs staff is incredibly kind and accommodating. Theo and I spend time in NY and GA and some procedures in NY are quoted at ridiculously high prices. The team at JCVC removed one of Theos chipped teeth (large back molar) for half the price quoted to us in NYC - and without any decline in service. They also cleaned his teeth during the procedure and they came out excellent, which is really important since oral care in dogs is so important to their overall health! My most recent visit was the day after Thanksgiving. Theo had been licking his paw for about a week and we assumed it was allergies because there wasnt anything visible to us. With a 15 hour car ride looming in the future, we called JCVC and they were open and willing to fit us in ASAP. Theo had a puncture wound between two of his toes, very hard to see, but the vet cared for the wound, gave us the appropriate medication, and it made for a much more comfortable car ride! I will also say Marla is an EXCELLENT groomer - she does a wonderful job and clearly cares for the animals. JCVC is the only boarding facility I trust with my dog. If your animal has special needs, you can pay a bit more to have him boarded in the hospital area. I always encourage my friends and family with pets in the area to board their dogs here rather than the large chain box stores. The staff at JCVC really cares and while I have picked Theo up from other boarders and he is seemingly traumatized, he always leaves JCVC happy, just like I left him. Thanks JCVC for all you do!
