I have lived in Bloomington-Normal for many years, but never used St. Josephs before (I always went to BroMenn). I will definitely be changing that in the future. In Feb. 2010, I went to the St. Joseph ER with terrible stomach pain and ended up needing an emergency appendectomy (surprise). They had me in an exam room, changed, CTd, and meeting my surgeon in under an hour! The ER doctor, nurses, and staff were really wonderful, and my surgeon, Dr. Weiland was also great! The room I stayed in to recover was very nice, private, and I got very fast responses whenever I needed anything from the nurses, respiratory therapists, and CNAs. The follow-up and pain management was superb, even after I was discharged. I intend to only go to OSF in the future - they were so much better on every level than BroMenn. Thanks for the great care, delivered with compassion and a sense of humor!

Please be aware that all OSF Hospitals are incredibly money-hungry. Due to their own gross mismanagement, they now try to bleed every penny they can out of you. Make sure you submit your medical bills to your health insurance (or public aid or Medicare if you are a IDHFS or Medicare beneficiary) because they will NOT. Their attorneys have just been handed a big boon by the IL Supreme Court as well, and they are much more concerned with making every penny they can off your misfortune than they are making you whole. Go to BroMenn in Normal if you can, they are much kinder and less greedy. How ironic that this is supposed to be a Catholic hospital group...

This review is for the ER department...ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!! My 9 year old son has a G-tube it came out, I called the ER department BEFORE I went to ask if they would be able to put it back in and they said yes. I get there and wait HOURS in the waiting room only to be called back to a room and wait HOURS longer just to be told that they could not put the G-tube back in because it needs to be done by a pediatric doctor! I waited well over 4 hours to get absolutely no service! I will NEVER step foot in this ER again! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE service!!!!

My grandmother just got out of surgery not too long ago. The nurses havent gave her her meds the past few days. She doesnt look like herself because her blood sugar has been high and blood pressure and plus she just got out of surgery. She needed to go to the bathroom right out of surgery and no one came to help. We asked an aide and my grandmas nurse was no where to be found. I will not let my grandmother pee herself in a bed. This is absolutely ridiculous and they need more nurses. I am so upset with all of this.

The entire facility is FAR above any in the area. The staff treat every person (patient and family) with respect and dignity. The Birthing Center is wonderful and the nursing staff ensure the patient (and newborn) receive the highest level baby friendly care. My wife and I live in Peoria and we will for sure drive to St Joseph when we have our next child. That is truly how wonderful that floor is.

Long,long wait. The doctor was a extremely nice and considerate. Now the emergency room staff I cant give any stars at all. There were some stars but they were overshadowed by the awful nurses. We were in there for over 5 and a half hours and 1 and half was waiting for an IV. All in all pretty bad, you might get better service at the morgue,avoid if u can cause this place is

I cant say enough about the hospital staff while my daughter was a patient there late last week. I wish I could say the same for some of the staff in the Emergency room when I had to run her in last night. Its amazing to me how in one building the staff, their attitudes, behavior and demeanor can vary so drastically.

Prior to our daughters birth, we took some preparatory classes and learned a great deal. We toured the birthing center and were impressed by what we saw. Ultimately, we selected OSF over BroMenn (nothing against BroMenn), and we had a wonderful experience. We intend on using OSF for any future children as well.

Nurses are geat. Doctors are arrogant assholes. They do not care whatsoever about your real concern, they just want to get a paycheck. Told us "Drink some tea and get over it" actual quote!! I cant wait to see him on the street so I can tell him how I really feel.

Great Staff!! My Mom had a Heart Attack, they Rushed here from our Dr. at OSF in Fairbury who is also Super to the ER in Pontiac. Then from there they Rushed her to Bloomington OSF and took her right into Surgery. They saved her life....

I was in the emergency room just now, as my surgeon told me to. I have a bad infection in my ankle from post surgery. And they were awful. They were rude I ended up leaving after waiting an hour to even get my vitals.

Its a very good hospital. Staff is also nice but the emergency is always too busy and that is never a good experience when you have to wait long in an emergency. I understand, is not their fault.

Horrible place. My grandmother hasnt been receiving her Meds like shes supposed to be. We have asked her nurse things count less of times and we dont get replys. Horrible.

Great experience with my Dads open heart surgery. All of the staff were amazing! The CCU is phenomenal and Dr VanLe was top notch!
