Had I known I was about to face 6 days of the most unbelievably horrible hospital experience I would I have DEMANDED that I be transported to another hospital. I and other close family members have been patients in 9 other hospitals in Shelby County/Desoto County in my lifetime. Ive been at patient in the Burn Unit of Regional One Health and couldnt ask for kinder and better treatment and thats a Level 1 Trauma Unit!!! I had deep second and third degree burns over a significant part of my body. No real complaints with any of them ever! I would rather die than ever be subjected to the treatment I received on the 4th floor of Methodist-Olive Branch again!!! I was admitted June 1, 2017 and discharged on June 6, 2017. Two CNAs dont need to be CNAs and one named Zuree (not sure of the spelling) shouldnt be in the health care field at all. One Rosemary was so lazy that she took forever to answer a call if she did at all. She must have been known to be a problem because another CNA yelled her name the instant I told her that no one answered my call. One particular incident really stands out. I needed to build my stamina by walking and she was concerned about the 3 feet the walk to the bathroom would take FOR HER. I thought when she said that "Isnt that your job?". The nurse call button was kept out of my reach until I said something after 4 days. Interesting it never was again for the remainder of my stay. Innocent mistake? I think not. I learned what set off the IV machine and did it several times to get someone in there. I spent the entire weekend in bed while I heard constant laughing and conversations about non-work related activities by both the RNs and CNAs while employees children ran up and down the hall. I half questioned some of the RNs as to whether they were even RNs because of their demeanor and other things such as calling 98.1 a fever or being told I was be given 2 "CCs" of unnecessary insulin. Anyone familiar with insulin dosages knows it is given in units, not CCs. (My mother was an insulin dependent diabetic so Im very knowledgeable about diabetes and insulin.). I checked the needle to make sure it was 2 units, especially since Im not a diabetic before allowing her to inject it. 2 CCs would be 200 units and I would have been killed. One named Elly acted like I was committing a crime when I became very nauseous when given a strong antibiotic on an empty stomach. This was Friday afternoon June 2, 2017. She actually yelled and scolded me. A CNA named Zuree was sadistic, rude and vicious. She inflicts pain deliberately and appears mentally unstable to me. While performing a procedure she was hitting me so hard each time that she was knocking me a foot up the bed. She knew EXACTLY what she doing because each time after she did it she would say "just a little pat". This Zuree slugged the bed barely missing my leg and ran out of the room because I didnt give her advance notice I was going to be sick. The sadistic treatment started immediately when I met her. Ive strongly considered filing a complaint with the Olive Branch PD against her and may do so now. She needs to be stopped immediately before she inflicts real harm on someone. Ive been recovering and moving. Now that Im settled Im commencing to use every means necessary through both the legal system and possibly law enforcement as necessary to pursue the events surrounding my discharge and this Zuree. Im still in shock over the lies this tall blonde woman told me trying to prevent my discharge.

When I went to the emergency room because I was having vaginal bleeding while pregnant. They checked me in and I didnt even sit in the waiting room for five mins. Did vitals then sent me to a room. You sit there for andywhere from 10-30 mins then some one comes in to do all your medical history and see whats going on draw blood and do a iron sample .. Then that takes an hour for lab work then had an ultrasound with tool a little bit maybe two and a half hours if that . Went back to room and not 30 mins later They came in and told me that I was having a miscarriage . They. Told me what was going on best way to cope health wise. And to make an emergency appointment with an obgyn. Gave me a packet with some papers with all the information you will need about all the info about your symptoms and what they believe you have, how to fix the problem, and all the signs of its a serious issue to return to the er if they pop up! ..Next day I went back and had my appointment with dr. Robin M. Taylor And I absolutely loved her! She was very sympathetic talked to me as an individual not just a patient. Had a professional but yet a personal manner. She used terms that I could understand and if you have any questions. She was right there. Explaining it to you plain and clear ! I highly reccomend her for an ob-gyn!! Anyway, hopes this helps !

Absolutely horrible and frightening. I came to the ER with chest pains and shortness of breath. The African dr. Swanka diagnosed me with pneumonia and sent me home. The next couple of days I came back.and they did more tests and admitted me to the hospital due to my fluid level on my lungs. They refused to give me any pain meds for the entire stay and the doctor stated that I didnt have pneumonia that it was a lung disease. The next morning I had a bronchioscopy done and a white female doctor came in and said it was pneumonia and sent me home. They told me to follow up with the pulmonary doctor, but provided zero follow info. My results werent even back from the scope when they released me and my pressure was extremely low. 82/48 and they said it was normal!! Im still not well. NEVER GO THERE.IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO ME IVE INSTRUCTED MY FAMILY TO SUE FOR NEGLIGENCE. Update: only a couple of days later, and Ive been admitted to another hospital who stared that I never should have been released from Methodist. Wow.

Never had a good experience here! If there was an option to choose 0 stars I would. The doctors and nurse practitioners give you absolutely no confidence that their education is extends beyond the 9th grade. I literally just had a doctor (jami) tell me that my ear looked disgusting inside. Then she said it was full of mucus....no its puss from a horrible infection that has swollen the entire side of my face. I had to ask her to look in my ear before I was discharged. The pain has my teeth chattering from pain but she was so rude and discharged me anyway. On the other hand, Ashley the nurse was a sweetheart. And just to say one more thing the last time I was there, I was having an allergic reaction so they intubated me to airlift me to Methodist downtown well they forgot to push the propofol. I felt everything but couldnt move. Thank God the doctor downtown immediately realized it. Be careful! Its probably a bad sign when no one is ever in the waiting room!
