About a month ago we took our chocolate Labrador here for a possible ear infection. She was constantly rubbing that ear and it had a very bad oder. But anyways when we arrived she was very scared and would not let anyone get a look inside of that ear. The nurse told us that she could not get a look and asked if WE could put a muzzle on her! Me and my husband thought this was weird because they are the professionals surely that have had and handled scared and frightened animals before. But anyways she being so scared and in pain would not even let us touch that ear or get the muzzle on. So the doctor prescribed her meds without getting a sample of what type of infection it was and told us that one of the meds he sent her home with was a sedative to help her relax to be able to give her the ear drops. We were never able to get the drops in she never let us near her ear. But we did finish out the oral meds. Long story short one month later the smell came back took her to a different vet and they were able to get a swab and give us the proper meds. Come to find out that this doctor treated her for a yeast infection of the ear which she did not have and that they never gave us a seditive for her. My issue is how could they send us home to give ear drops for a infection that they were not sure about.

My family and I have nothing but complete praise for this animal hospital. We recently switched vets ( after 15yrs ) and were very concerned that wed find the perfect group of Dr.s to help us maintain the lives our our "fur children". From our first visit to our very recent emergency visit, we have completely fallen in love with the staff, Veterinarians, and professionalism that weve received for our loved ones. It is obvious that the care and close attention of your pets are their primary concern. This is the first time in many years, weve felt that weve found a place we can call home for our pets needs. During our recent emergency visit, we felt that the expanses we charged were extremely reasonable and a breakdown of fees were easily understood (we have never left feeling like weve been taken advantage of or overcharged). Exams take place often with veterinarian in the floor often (with your pet) , and an conversation is guaranteed every time weve visited. We have never felt rushed or left with unanswered questions. Again, the time and attention given by Dr.s is something weve never experienced before at any other clinic. Thank you to each of these fine humans who have restored our faith in the care of our family members. Thank you, The Jetmore Family

Ms. Allen, you and your husband sound perfect for each other. 1st off its common sense or "should be" that the staff will ALWAYS ask the OWNER to muzzle their own pet. The dog should have been muzzled prior to visit. Would you expect a pediatrician to comfort a crying infant or the mother? 2nd why wouldnt you pay to have a shot of pain meds so the doggy could be examined properly and 3rd why didnt you look up the meds to make sure its for anxiety? Ya know ppl do make mistakes, if the meds didnt seem to be working, for all you know, it could have been another dogs meds that got mixed up completely. At the very least I would have called the vet back to check. Me & my husband were both laughing at your complaints. How bout taking responsibly for your own poor dog and quit blaming others for lack of common sense. Thank you for your comment.

I have been going to HAH since 1994! The office took care of my boxer Mandee until she passed in 2001. Dr. Meeker took care of my Boston mix, Bridgette, until she passed a few yrs later, then my 4 Boston babies - Maegan, Buster, Molly & Margeaux- until I moved to KY in 2011. The staff & vets have always been very compassionate & caring about all of my needs - whether it be lowest costs possible & they have demonstrated heartfelt sympathy in my losses during a very difficult time, especially after losing my husband & parents. I have found a great vet in KY but by far, Dr. Meeker is my favorite vet from all my experiences from GA, AZ, FL, & KY!!

Brought my yorkie Sophie here yesterday for the first time after having labored for 6 hours and producing no puppies. (Closest hospital to our home.) She wound up needing an emergency cesarean after the first puppy became lodged in her birth canal and was unable to be resuscitated. Dr. Meeker and her staff were wonderful with her and managed to save the remaining 2 puppies and our sweet baby girl Sophie. We were incredibly impressed with the care we received and even further impressed by the low cost. We were fully expecting to pay upwards of $2000 or more and received a bill of $630! I highly recommended taking your pet here.

Took my 3 yr old kitty here because our normal vet was sick, they prescribed pain medicine for her anal glands and emptied out her anal glands the next day she was not any better so I took her to her normal vet were they did the same examination as Hiram Animal Hospital and found a mass in her belly, normal vet did a X-ray and sent me to a specialist. Come to find out she had intestinal cancer and passed away yesterday (not even a week after Hiram saw her.) If I would of trusted what the doctors at Hiram Animals Hospital said my kitty would of been suffering....

Every time I have gone to this vet, I have had to return for some reason. I boarded my two dogs here. When I returned one of my dogs face was cut deeply. My dogs do not fight and no one could offer an explanation. When I had my dogs rabies vaccine I had to bring my dog back because it had a reaction, first time ever and only time. I brought my indoor cat in for a urinary blockage. The vet insisted that I have all of his shots, he unblocked his ureter and sent him home, 2 days later he died. Too many errors for me to trust my babies life in their hands.

We have been bringing our furry family members to Hiram Animal Hospital almost 10 years, and we love Dr. Carpenter, the other doctors, and staff! I was employed at a small animal veterinary clinic prior to this, they went out of business and I changed careers, but I was still very "picky" about the care for our loved ones. We went to several clinics before we found Hiram Animal Hospital and were not happy until there. I highly recommend them, they are very friendly, professional, highly efficient, and caring!

BEWARE! They killed my healthy 1 yr old hamster! My hamster Lolita was eating well, and running around her wheel until I brought her to this clinic. Her right eye was a little close, it was getting better, but I brought her to see a vet anyways! It was a big mistake! Dr. Meeker gave me some eye ointment, and it cost my hamster her eye, and caused open wounds on her face! When I went back, they gave me another medicine to give Lolita, and it killed her the day after!
