I first brought my rabbit in when my previous vet did not consider it a problem when my rabbit had not eaten for 24 hours. Cinnabun was seen within a few hours as a new patient. Dr. Cheung was fantastic. She has treated both my rabbits with their well being exams as well as emergency visits for both of them. Because VHAH is 45 minutes away, I kept my cats at a closer vet when I changed my rabbits here. Last summer as I was preparing to bring my rabbits in for their well being visit, one of my cats was having trouble breathing and having other issues. At that moment, I knew that I trusted VHAH more than the closer vet so I called and brought Joey in there. Two vets worked on Joey for about two hours keeping me informed and letting me make decisions. When he took a turn for the worse, they called me back and told me. Because I knew my son would need to hear it as well, they repeated the information to my son. With us petting him, Joey was put to sleep with the vets respectfully in the room. They gave us a tuft of fur that I requested and made a beautiful page with his paw print. A couple of months later when I was in for one of the rabbits, the vet tech asked how we were doing and Dr Cheung asked how my son was doing. We now vring our other cat to VHAH as well sicne they are the best vet practice we know. Everyone from the receptionists to the vet techs, to the vets are caring and knowledgeable.

My experience with VHAH for the last few months has been positive for my 3 cats. Now, I can tell how VHAH is trustable. They tried to understand and emphasize the connection I have for my cats, not only focusing on doing just business. When I first visited them was on 06/13/2017, I needed the 2nd opinion for my second cat’s dental problem. Dr. Molly McCullough explained to me slowly (because I am a foreigner) regarding teeth’s treatment and procedures. She also gave me a quote and it was very x 2 reasonable than other four clinics I have been to. And also, she was very calm with my concerns. Based on my first time experience with her service, I started to trust her. Because, as she did her best in understanding a foreigner who is not fluent in English, I could believe she and VHAH will be also good with my pets’ need. I also met Dr. Cheung for my 3rd cat on 06/21/17 with Ms. April who translated for me. Dr. Cheung is also very trustable, and I felt she was honest with me after she examined my 3rd cat. I met Dr. Susan on 06/03/17 for my 2nd cat’s dental surgery and on 07/25/17 for my first cat’s abdominal problem. My first cat was 18 years old and I lost her about a month ago. However, I was so impressed VHAH when I took my first cat to Dr. Susan for an emergency. All staff consoled me with their warm words. I really appreciate all of them and also thank God that I found this hospital for my cats.

When my local veterinarian was unable to further diagnose or help my 40- year old box turtles ailments any longer, Dr. Stephen Barten came highly recommended. Dr. Barten diligently worked with Laura (the turtle) and I. I was bringing her in every three weeks for three, consecutive months until her edema was under control and her abscesses were completely healed. He thanked ME for being so pro-active with the treatment plan between visits. He said we made a good team. Otherwise, she probably wouldnt have survived. In essence, HE saved her life. And, I do not feel the need to use another animal hospital in the future for either one of my turtles. Dr. Bartens astute knowledge of and genuine connection with reptiles is truly one of a kind. Apparently, exotic- pet owners come from as far as surrounding states to heed his advice and magic touch. I totally get it! The staff is also super friendly and upbeat and the facility sits on a very serene and pretty piece of property :) FIVE STARS *****

We have enjoyed the services of Dr Molly McCullough at Vernon Hills Animal Hospital for 15 and a half years. Dr McCullough was the first vet to see our puppy (August 1999) and the last one to treat him last week. She has always been wonderful with our dog. She was gentle and kind to him, has always explained his life stages, been an advocate for good dental hygiene, discussed the pros and cons of treating his Cushings syndrome, and listened to the joys and problems of our dog ownership. I think Dr McCullough is an empathetic listener as well as a thorough doctor. While I dont know the other vets in the office, I do know the techs and office people. Sondra has been there longer than we have and Rachel was lovely with our dog. If we adopt another dog we will be back at Vernon Hills Animal Hospital in a heart beat!

The great service starts from the moment you call to make an appointment. The receptionists are all incredibly kind and attentive. My busy schedule has me always having to ask schedulers to check many different openings, VHAH staff never grows impatient. Upon entering there is a large waiting room that is kept unbelievably organized with tennis balls and towels. On our last visit me and my lil Bruno (Boston Terrier Mix) went to get his shots and check a small growth near his eye. We met with Kristi and Dr. Cheung, they were both amazing. You immediately feel like you are in the right hands. The staff works together to make appointments quick and easy.

I really love this place! I have had a gaggle of guinea pigs, and the only place I trust with their care, is Vernon Hills Animal Hospital! All of their vets are amazingly cavy savvy! I only have one guinea pig left, a 7 and a half year old girl who is riddled with arthritis (shes my avatar). Thanks to them, shes living out her golden years as pain free and as happy as possible. They answer all my questions, and give wonderful advice. They truly care about each and every pet. If it wasnt for them, I dont think my Bo would be still be with me. If you love your pet, and want the best care for him/her, this is the place!

I can only personally speak for Dr. Sneed and Dr. Barton, but weve been taking our animals to VHAH for over 15 years. Dr. Sneed is the absolute most caring, dedicated, and knowledgable vet I have *ever* had the pleasure of seeing. In our family, we often say that we wish Dr. Sneed could work on humans! When our baby kitten Binx was suffering from FIP and developed seizures, Dr. Sneed *opened up VHAH just for us on a SUNDAY* . . . just so that Binx would be able to be put down in a familiar location. I have probably 1000 other examples of why VHAH is the only vet I would ever recommend.

I have primary doctor Dr. Steve Barten at this place for my pet, and he is awesome! I am with the clinic since I got my pet, and every time they were able to help me, or direct to the right place. They have a lot of information on web site, and will even take a picture of your pet to create profile, and get to know a story about you and your pet. I follow all directions from the doctor since my pet was a puppy, like cleaning his teeth, food preference, vaccinations, exercise, coat treatment, etc, and my pet stays healthy and happy. I would recommend this clinic / doctor to others.
