We started coming to Grayslake Animal Hospital six years ago when we adopted a Rescue named Riley. Riley is a Brittany who came to us with many issues. He has Struvite cystalluria, severe allergies, Lupoid Onychyodystrophy, separation anxiety, and now sometimes has seizures after vaccinations, fireworks and storms. Through each of these issues Dr. Marion has worked to identify the exact cause of his issue. The Lupoid Onychyodystrophy presented itself in his nails which were breaking and bleeding. Dr. Marion worked to identify the cause and put him on medication which is controlling it. He is careful to check his liver through blood work every six months to make sure that the meds are not damaging it. Kim is the technician who has helped us monitor Riley through her monthly nail trims. She always gives us a report of how he is doing by his nail presentation. These folks really care about our animals. While I have focused my review on Dr. Marion and Kim all of the vets there are great. The front office ladies are also caring and will work with you to make things as easy as possible when dealing with any issue. Now the sad part of my review. We moved to Texas on September 11th so we had to leave this wonderful group of caring individuals. My search will soon start for a veterinarian practice that can live up to their standards. Wish me luck!

I previously gave this veterinary clinic a high review until they nearly cost my dog his life due to their inability to correctly diagnose his condition in spite of the obvious telltale signs of blastomycosis I.E. Hemorrhaging skin lesions, affected eyes, 104.5 temperature, etc. they took his blood, swabbed the lesions, did an eye test, etc. Still my poor 7 yr old Lab lost his left eye and suffered immensely as a result of their inability to diagnose after several visits. Only after I brought him to another veterinary clinic to rule out Blasto was I able to get him on the medication he needed to begin healing. In other words I had him diagnosed before they did and thats pretty sad. Also over the days that I brought him in I never saw the same vet twice and the lack of communication between the veterinarians treating him added to the confusion and wasted time while my dog suffered. I was ultimately told to bring him to an eye doctor. Absolutely ludicrous. Malpractice to say the least and to say I am disappointed is a huge understatement obviously. For just shots or simple things theyre OK but if your pet is ill beware of what I went through. Oh and by the way, I still paid monetarily for their incompetence not happy about that either.

If you have a dog with Addisons disease, this is one of their specialties. I switched from another area vet to Grayslake after our dog was diagnosed with Addisons, and it was the best decision we ever made. We were very interested in alternative therapies, and while Dr. Sallee doesnt practice holistic medicine herself, she is very open and even sent us to consult with a holistic vet so our dog could get the very best care. He lived a great, long life because of the folks at Grayslake Animal Hosptial. The front desk folks are also kind, as are many of the other vets who cared for our dog if Dr. Sallee was out of town.

Horrible, horrible people!!! We had been going there for years thinking everything was great, I couldnt have been more wrong. After killing our cat during a routine opperation they would admit no wrong doing, and tried blaming us for the occorance! On top of that, upon picking up our dead cat the lady at the front desk asks us if we want to take care of the bill. Seriously, they need to learn a lesson sympathy, morons. Now that we have switched vets we have learned that the doctors over there have received their veterinary degree from a cracker jack box. IF YOU LIKE YOUR PETS ALIVE, DONT GO HERE!!!!!

Ive been taking pets here for nearly 30 years. Love this place. In all that time, Ive only come across one vet that my pets didnt click with. With that one exception, everyone, from the front desk people to the techs, have always treated my pets with kindness and gentleness. Dr. Harte is especially wonderful with my two little dogs. Hes very patient and calm and always takes his time to talk to me and make sure I understand whatever it is hes explaining to me about their care.

I have found the best care for my pet at Grayslake Animal Hospital. Everyone working there cares so much about their patients and are wonderful caregivers. The vets are incredibly knowledgeable and my 2 cats are at ease with them. The receptionists/nurses will do there best to accomodate even the ugliest schedule. I read reviews, but rarely write them. This is the exception. I highly recommend Grayslake Animal Hospital.

When our cat suddenly stopped eating and drinking, Dr. Auten kindly and gently examined and treated her. Thanks to Dr. Auten and the rest of the excellent staff, our kitty has had a full recovery and is happily chasing play mice around the house. I would highly recommend the Grayslake Animal Hospital to those searching for top-notch care and a veterinary service that believes in follow-ups to ensure the health of your pet!

All of my pets have gone to Grayslake Animal Hospital for at least the past 20 years. One of our poodles would never have been diagnosed with liver problems if it not had been for their careful testing prior to anesthesia. The liver specialist said we were fortunate that Grayslake Animal Hospital caught this early in our poodles life. We know that our pets will receive the best care possible here.

We recently had to put our 20 year old cat down due to kidney failure. My mother brought her in to Grayslake Animal Hospital and the staff couldnt have been more kind and sympathetic. They even sent our family a really nice card a few days later. Thank you Grayslake Animal Hospital for helping us get through this tough time.

We cannot say enough good things about Grayslake Animal Hospital! The vets are compassioante, experienced, and knowledgeable across the board, even having some vets who see exotic pets. We have been going to this clinic for nearly 18 years and would not dream of looking for pet care anywhere else.

All the doctors and staff here are very friendly and knowledgeable. They are also very accommodating for last minute requests if you feel your pet needs to be seen urgently. Ive been taking my 2 dogs here for 7 years, and really appreciate them and trust them.
