DO NOT take your animal to Hometown Animal Hospital. I took my beloved 3 year old cat there because he was on the brink of death from a urinary tract infection. She took him in on a Sunday, completely disheveled, she began to cry to my mother about personal issues. I was distraught over my cat, but she told me he would have to stay and made me feel as if my issues werent as big as her personal life issues. Which was completely unprofessional in my opinion. She informed me she would be going on vacation in 3 days and that he should be home before then. By day 3, she removed his catheter, and left for vacation. Without referring me to another vet, she allowed her vet tech to care for my cat. Hopeful, that he would live, I didnt question her competence. A big mistake that I made which cost my cats life. Unlike Mary Gary, her vet tech was unable to cath. my cat. By day 5 of them continuing to keep my cat overnight giving me hope that the next day he would for sure be better, they called to tell me that he would have to be put to sleep. I asked why he had to put to sleep and why she was unable to cath him and she told me he had a "deformed urethra". After leaving the vet with my cat in a casket, the next thing I received was a 500 dollar bill. I called to question the bill and after waiting 30 minutes on the phone, they told me she would have to call me back. She called me back and left me a message that said "Im not sure what questions you might have but I can do payment arrangements." I felt as if my opinions didnt matter to her. I dont believe I should have had to pay for the 2 1/2 days that she left my animal under the care of a vet tech, if anything at all, because my cat ended up dying because she left him with someone unable to care for him competently. After finally getting through to her she told me that I SHOULD have made the call to refer him and that it was basically my fault he didnt get the treatment he should of and died. After, paying 350, I asked her if something could be done about the rest considering she wasnt there for 2 days and he ended up passing away. She told me no, and basically after a long heated unprofessional argument with me, she hung up on me. One week later I got a bill from a collections agency. I dont understand why I wasnt informed the first day that his urethra was "deformed", this probably caused the vet tech to be unable to cath him. I feel as if she should have made the call to put him to sleep day 1, day 2, day 3, or even day 4 instead of allowing him to reach the point of no return, while racking up my bill to $500, before the call to put him to sleep was made. I payed the collections agency because I didnt want this to hurt my credit, but I just want to forewarn EVERYONE please please please dont take your animal to her hospital. If something serious ever happens to your animal, she might just rack up as much money as she can from you before you find out your family pet will not actually survive. I feel so sorry for my cat because he was greatly loved, and he had to be put through torment for 5 days before he could finally be at peace. I now wonder why I wasnt told his urethra was deformed day 1, and whether or not his urethra truly was deformed or if the vet tech caused irreversible damage after repeatedly trying to cath him. She got her 500 dollars and I was left with a horrible experience. She didnt send anything in the mail to apologize for his death, nothing. She showed no compassion and frankly I would never trust her with anyones animal, let alone mine ever again. This situation was negligent and completely unprofessional. I just hope and pray that this will not happen to anyone else.

Dr Mary Gary is a wonderful caring person however I will never go back there again. Her Vet Tech was very rude and acted like I knew NOTHING about my own animal and like she was wasting her time standing there with me. I personally know that this office is going to fail if Dr Gary doesnt do more to make sure she has as good of a staff as she is a Dr, because honestly when you go in there, you are with the Tech almost more than you are with the Dr. So when you have a moody old lady for a Tech that makes you feel uncomfortable it makes you not want to go back. Her Vet Techs name is Julie, they call her Jules. She has short curly reddish hair (used to be a grey curly) She really needs to be fired and Dr Gary needs to hire someone who is sympathetic and caring.I wont be back there until Jules is gone!!

I had my dog neutered by Hometown, they neglected to give us a cone when they released him to us, didnt give us pain meds, and the stitches fell out. Wet brought him back and told them what happened and they stapled it back shut and they just now fell out again, they do NOT nurture your animal from the minute you walk in, and their vet does NOT have a passion for animals like you see in any other vet. They are careless and do half-assed only what they need to in order to get that paycheck.

We have 3 cats and have been to the vet for the usual check ups, shots, a couple of UTIs. The whole staff has been wonderful. Including all the techs. My cats are like any other cat....view the vet like we do the dentist. :) But they are pretty calm there and curious and relaxed when we are at Hometown Animal Hospital. They are always treated with care from the minute we walk through the door. I highly recommend them and will continue to go back for all our kitty needs.

The new vet tech was a lot of help and seems to be nice and do a really great job to help out and I would take my dog back again if there was something else I needed them for
