Now, Ive never been the kind of person to take my dogs to a vet unless necessary. Ive also never had to lose a dog. But I did 3 days ago... One of the worst days in my life, my dog had been bitten and fatality wounded. We found this clinic on Google, and thank God we did. Our day started of so well. But tragedy struck and we were forced to look for a vet in a split of a second. We found this place at 7:40 pm and raced here, we arrived and as soon as we walk through the door and they saw my dog hurt they took her from my arms and started medical treatment. Sadly my dog needed surgery, the cost would have been over a thousand. We only had one choice and with tears in my eyes and a heavy heart I made it. The vet was understanding and sympathetic, I could see it pained her to see me and my wife make the hardest decision a dog owner could make.we put our dog to sleep that day, the staff saw how hurt we were. But everything that they could have done right they did. The cost... I really didnt care, but in my mind not too high. Not only this but 2 days later we received a card, from the staff. Thank you Jessica, Chelsea, CSR, and Dr. Katharine Watson Thank you all. I will be returning for anything my dogs will ever need.

Generally good experiences, but our appointment today with Dr. Alan Reed was an INFURIATING RIPOFF. We went in for half off vaccines for my dog. We were just in a week and a half ago about a growth in his mouth that, luckily, fell off on its own. During the check up for the growth, I gladly paid for a Well Patient exam. Today, we just needed the vaccines, but Dr. Reed enters the room and insists on performing the same exam my dog just had a week ago. I said four different times that my dog just had the exam and is in good health and every time I said that he said "Oh, but Ill just look him over before giving him the vaccines... " ignoring my statements. The fourth time Dr. Reed has the gall to stoop down and perform the exam (heart rate and looking at his teeth and ears) right in front of me, ignoring my repeated pleas of telling him how unnecessary it would be... all this so that he could charge me $55.75 on my bill. Guess what? My dog is perfectly healthy. Needless to say, I am LIVID. It was just so smarmy and contrary to the rest of my experiences (2.5 years) with this place.

I would not use this facility again and I doubt very much if my own vet will recommend them again. My cat was hospitalized there for one day and all night and NOBODY ever called me to let me know how his condition was. NOBODY. I finally called them and they said the doctor would call me, so I waited and waited with no call. Finally I called back and they told me "she forgot" (???) Only after having a little chat with the manager about the quality of service did I get any update calls. Even then they referred to my male cat as a "she" (???) This facility is state-of-the art, but I will tell you beforehand that NOTHING is done to your precious pet until MONEY is discussed (and PLENTY OF IT). I am surprised they dont charge you for the very air your pet breathes while its there! I wont be using them again because they care more for PROFITS than good customer service.

I have now had 2 completely unacceptable experiences here, and will NOT be going back. 1. I referred some puppy clients here who ended up having to file a claim to get their money back (partial refund) on a failed surgery last year. 2. Dr. Petersman (who is rather rude anyway, but hes usually the evening vet, so I deal with it.) wouldnt issue a very simple/general Health Certificate to travel with my pup because I hadnt purchased my puppys vaccines from them, and he supposedly wasnt "comfortable" with them being effective because HE couldnt personally verify it. *It should be noted that I have flown with animals to/from many places and NO OTHER vet has EVER created such an issue. I can only assume this is a ploy to get me to pay them more money and get me to do all my services & vaccines there at their overpriced clinic (As most VCAs are overpriced.).

I had a bad experience with dealing with the facility on W 86 st, I called in for a refill on medication for my dog and the lady who answered the phone must of been having a bad day, she was very rude. I ask them to cut the pills in half as they always do and when I came to pick the medicine up, they charged me a 5 dollar fee for cutting the pills in half. I asked why the fee was different from previous times I refilled and the lady said the doctor added the charge. I asked to speak to the doctor because I didnt think it was fare without giving me an option to decide if I want to pay extra or not. The doctor would not come and talk to me and he refused to take the fee off. I am pissed off because they dont care about the care of their patients they see!

We have used these vets for both emergencies and for our regular veterinary care. They were extremely compassionate when caring for two very ill dogs who eventually had to be put down. They have always gone above and beyond and offer state of the art care or refer you if necessary. I noticed that one reviewer complained about price. They have always worked with us to keep costs down and not charged us for things they could and should have. We have seen a number of the vets and the care we have received for four animals now has been excellent. We recommend them to everyone, especially for emergencies. I dont think there is a better emergency vet in Indianapolis.

My experience today was unacceptable. The veterinarian was rude and argumentative (during three separate interactions). The young lady at the front desk was sighing and rolling her eyes throughout the conversation. The sad part is that the main concern was about getting additional monies from us (despite the fact that services had not been completed from the initial procedure). We will NOT return to this vet hospital. Customer service and client care are vital components when dealing with the public. This experience was an epic fail.

I brought my cat into VCA on a Sunday, his intestines were blocked. They tried a few things to get him back into shape and eventually we had to put him down. They ended up charging me 0$, after an hour or twos worth of work, and were very kind on such a terrible day for me.

We use VCA now exclusively for our 3 dogs. From regular check-ups to cancer treatments to end of life care weve experienced it all. They could improve the front-desk process a bit but overall the entire experience is always a good one.

They were very attentive to my pets needs, the vet tech was knowledgeable and the office staff was friendly. The vet talked in real world situations and made things easy to understand.
