My name is Chandra Fuqua and my son, Alex, is now twelve and has Perthes Disease. Before I had taken him to Thomas Newbauer, I had never even heard of the disease. Perthes Disease affected his femur bone. The bone did not get enough blood supply and caused his femur bone to crumble. It also affected the socket in the pelvic bone but it had not crumbled yet. We had taken him to at least three doctors who never recognized the problem. He had a growing problem when he was two and the disease is normally detected from ages 2-8. (you can learn more about the disease on the web) I thought that his limping that began when he was ten might have been caused by him falling off of the trampoline. We had taken him to get two x-rays and they sent us to physical therapy for what they diagnosed as a tight muscle. The problem kept getting worse and I couldnt stand to see him in so much pain so I had made an appointment with Dr. Newbauer. We were told by physicians that a chiroprator wouldnt be able to help him but it is the best decision I ever made when I scheduled the appointment there. Dr. Newbauer new right away after he took the x-rays what might be causing Alexs pain and limping problems. He treated him for his curve in his back and tried to get the leg length to match a little more(his left leg was almost three inches shorter than his right leg), but told me that I should go to a childrens hospital and talk to a surgeon and that is what I did. I scheduled him to see Dr. Tamai at Cincinnati Childrens Hospital. Doctor Tamai has done two surgeries on Alexs femur bone and hip and Alex has a long road to go but is healing nicely from the surgeries. I was blessed to find these two very brilliant doctors and am so grateful for all that they are doing for my son. I just want parents to be aware of this disease because it is a very serious disease that most people are unaware of even though it has been around for over 100 years.

I had been suffering with sciatica (pain + numbness) and low back pain for two months after tripping over my silly dog while carrying a loaded laundry basket. Around the first of January I decide to go see Dr. Lundergan since it wasnt improving. After 12 visits I can safely say I am definitely on the road to recovery. When I first went to see him I could barely ride in a car, or sit in a chair for any length of time much less get up and walk normally after sitting. Now I can walk for an hour with no pain, sit for awhile with no pain and ride to Madison in a car with no pain. Ive been coming to this office for years off and on with low back troubles and theyve always fixed me. I was really concerned this time since sciatic pain was involved. A bulged disc is no fun at all and I thank God and Dr Lundergan that Im getting better. Now for the next phase, exercises to strengthen my back and monthly maintenance adjustments! ****6 month update.....Im still going to see Dr. L once a month for maintenance and doing my prescribed exercises twice a week to strengthen my back. I am virtually pain free now, every once in a while if I overdue it bending in a certain way I may feel some pain or numbness down my leg for a little bit. But now have been walking between 10,000 to 27,000 steps a day every day for going on 4 weeks. Of course I had to work my way up to this starting out with 10 minute walks when I was at my worst pain. Im so relieved that I didnt go to a back surgeon, I seriously thought it was going in that direction at first. Bad backs runs in my family, my mother has had many operations for herniated discs, and a fusion.

I worked in a local factory for the past 15 years. Had severe pain in right leg and lower back. Had been seeing a doctor out of town for over a year and pain worsened. I asked around town to see if anyone knew of a good chiropractor and Dr. Lundergans name came up. Made an appointment and within 6-8 weeks I was pain free!!! Dr. L recommended once a month maintenance so that I would not fall back to my previous condition, after a few months I did not keep my appointments and now Im paying the price. My pain has come back, not as bad, but I wished I had kept my monthly appointments. Once a month is not too much to ask, to be pain free.

I would highly recommend Dr. Lundergan for any chiropractic needs you might have. I have been seeing him for the past several years. Before I started seeing him, I suffered with migraines and had a prescription for them. I would have 10-15 headaches every month. After adjustments from Dr. Lundergan, my migraines are gone and I no longer have to take prescription medication! He also helped me (and continues to help me) with lower back pain I have as a result of an accident years ago. Go see him, you wont regret it!

When I first moved to Madison in 2002 I did not look up a chiropractor right away. It wasnt until I started having sciatic nerve pain into my right leg that I called Dr. Lundergan. I felt at ease right away and confident he could help me. I have been a chiropractic patient since 1996 and have had my experiences with several different DCs over the years. Dr. Lundergan is one of the best! I dont think I would have survived my herniated disk without him!

I highly recommend JCC...my daughter has scoliosis and while the slight curvature will not be able to be corrected, we are hoping to prevent it from getting worse. She always feels better after being adjusted and Ive noticed her seasonal allergies havent been as bad.

I initially went to see Dr. Lundergan for lower back pain. Since then, his adjustments have fixed that and more issues that I never realized I had. He is always on time and seems to really care for his patients. I highly recommend JCC!
