I hired Dr. Jakob, based on reviews on Angies List, to help me resolve low back pain. He diagnosed the problem and started treatment on the very first visit! I didn’t have to wait for x-rays or other diagnostic procedures; he asked a bunch of questions, did a physical exam, and did some functional tests with my back and limbs, and he knew right away what the problem was. He said that he was expecting to resolve the issue and send me on my way, and that he did not expect the process to take too many months. I did not at the time have health insurance, and he set an affordable price for the treatments. I began feeling better from the very first treatment, and every treatment after that made me feel even better! After several months of treatment, which included setbacks I had caused myself by taking on too much at work which Dr. Jakob patiently dealt with, we reached a plateau where additional treatment did not seem to bring any better results. We did a re-assessment and decided that the original injury had occurred during an accident I had many years ago, instead of the recent event which seemed to have precipitated the low back pain. Based on that, Dr. Jakob changed tactics to a completely different type of treatment. After a few weeks of this new treatment, the pain is gone, except for a little stiffness and soreness at night and in the morning, which resolves on its own after I move around a bit. Not unusual for a person of my age with a history of accidents similar to mine. And now, I feel so much better! Dr. Jakob has the training, expertise, intelligence and sensitivity you want in a healthcare provider. Plus a stellar sense of humor! I felt well-cared-for at every step of the process, from the setting of a compassionate fee to the e-mail appointment reminders to the commitment on both our parts to do whatever it took to get me as pain-free as possible without falling into a never-ending treatment process. Dr. Jakobs methods work! I found that the exercises he assigned me had an immediately noticeable effect on the pain and stiffness. I actually used the exercises instead of medication every morning to get myself ready for a pain-free day! I found myself looking forward to every appointment; not because the treatments felt so good, (because they sometimes didnt) but because I felt better and better afterwards, and was able to do more and more strenuous activity. Now it is three weeks after my final appointment with him, and I am doing fine! I am back to work, and I have even joined a gym. My back situation has stabilized to the point that the harder I work, the better I feel. I consider that to be not only the definition of overall spine health, but an absolute triumph; considering that when I decided to consult Dr. Jakob for the first time I was in so much pain that I would wake up crying. As a retired healthcare provider myself, I am very impressed! If you have pain in your back, arms, legs, jaw, or head, go see Dr. Ben Jakob. He can help you make it better.

I have had recurring back and neck pain including very painful pinched nerves and shoulder tension occurring every few years starting in my 20s. I have had my spine spasm and lock, which ended up with me in a neck brace with daily physical therapy, and I have visited multiple well recommended chiropractors over the years. When I started with a chiropractor I would end up in their care for more than a year yet never really progress beyond the initial problems that landed me there, so I would quit going and a few years later repeat the whole cycle. Last year I started experiencing the same issues, but it progressed to the point that I could not turn my head or lie down, I had to sleep upright in a chair. All of the previous things I had been taught to do were not working this time, and I was hesitant to fall into another 1.5 years of chiropractic care. I did some research and found Ben Jakob and decided to try his methods. He stated his goal was not to get you into years of care, but to get you fixed and get you going again, plus there would be no painful yanking or cracking. All was true to his advertised word. I was under his care 2 times a week for the first few weeks, weekly for the next month, but I went in there barely able to move or turn my head so it was to be expected that it would hurt a little and take a while in those first few weeks. However, out of all of my experiences with these practitioners, this was by far the most effective, the quickest and most pain relieving method to date. Dr. Jakob worked with me at each appointment to identify our progress, and form a plan for the next steps. As the disks realigned and the immediate threat was addressed, we then worked to remove the other sources of pain that had formed during this episode, in essence working backwards to keep it from happening again any time soon. The day that he finds and eradicates the last pinched nerve that is still niggling at you is really the most amazing day. Dr. Jakob was very personable and easy to talk to. He was professional and social at the same time, we had great conversations during the procedures that made the time go quickly. When I face this issue again in the future, I will most certainly return to Dr. Jakob. This time however I will go earlier so that I am not so far gone because I know he is not going to try to rope me into a year of sessions.

Attentive Care, Amazing Results Dr. Jakob was referred to me by my orthopedic physician for treatment of chronic pain in my neck, shoulders and lower back/pelvis related to arthritis and muscle injuries. Over 25 years, Ive been treated by various physical therapist, chiropractors, and massage therapists, all resulting in differing opinions and varying success of temporary relief. Until Dr. Jakob. On the day of my first visit I was in significant discomfort. I sought conventional "cracking" of my spine and neck, but after an assessment, he gently explained that he doesnt provide that and, while that is what I desired for relief, it wouldnt treat the true problem. He proposed a combination of therapies, including an alternative procedure called "dry needling," similar to acupuncture, to treat the affected areas in very localized manner and stimulate healing. Feeling as I did that day, I readily agreed. The therapy itself was extremely challenging at first, lasting no more than 20 minutes, followed by some very satisfying isolation and manipulation therapies. I experienced immediate relief, which was sustained overnight and the next day. This progressive improvement continued through a month-long series of appointments, none lasting more than 45 minutes. With each visit, we discussed my progress, observations, areas of continuing pain and stiffness, all of which Dr. Jakob would take into account for that days treatment. I must stress how satisfied I am with the progress of my healing and present condition. A note about service: Dr. Jakobs practice is a one-man operation. That means I spoke directly with him by phone, by email, when checking in, checking out and scheduling my next appointment. Every message, by phone or email, was promptly and personally returned. He demonstrated great flexibility and understanding on the occasions I had to cancel or reschedule an appointment, and always accommodated my fluctuating schedule. Im happy to endorse and recommend Dr. Jakob. In my experience, he was the first professional who was able to diagnose my condition and make an appreciable, sustained difference. I feel better, and hope you will, too.
