The male dental assistant was informative and honest. The office staff advised me over the phone that they did wisdom teeth extractions and scheduled an appointment for me to come in to get that done at their location. They even went as far as advising me about the different types of anesthesia for the procedure and how much my insurance covered for the extraction. Once I arrived, all seemed well as I assumed that I was getting my tooth removed. I even noted that on the "purpose of visit" section on my new patient form. They took me to the back sat me down and proceeded to look in my mouth, all to find out that they do not even do oral extractions at their location. The male dental assistant kindly and honestly advised me that he did not want to charge me for an X-ray since I was hoping for an oral surgeon and the oral surgeon would most likely take their own X-ray. Please be mindful that we did not proceed with having an X-ray. I only opened my mouth and pointed to the tooth that hurt. Thats it. While he went to look for an oral surgeon to refer me to, Dr. Patel came in suggesting that she do a basic check up. I refused this service because at that point I knew they would charge for me for a visit that I did not intend to have. I advised Dr. Patel that I preferred not to have a check up with their location since I came in for a Wilson tooth extraction and was very hesitant about being charged for the visit with them. I am disappointed because incorrect information for provided to me and now this company has taken my insurance as a form of payment for a visit that I really didnt have. There was no checkup, cleaning, etc involved at all. Now this will affect my insurance because it is marked as an annual visit and I would have to be charged for an "actual" annual visit with a dentist that I chose to go with, outside of the wisdom tooth extraction that I asked for all along. I really wanted to like this place and it saddens me that they did this :(

I went here a long time ago when I lived in the neighborhood. Since I moved closer back to this area I started back here and is sadly disappointed in the service. I had veneers on my teeth for more then 4 years with a small chip in one. After being talked into having all of my veneers removed not even 6 months out and two has fallen off. I called I went by and was told I didnt have an appoint after waiting over and hour with no one even sticking their head in the door. I know this is not the way Dr. B runs her office as she was not there. I am now looking for a new dentist to repair my veneers. I am sadden that customer service is no longer the driving force for good customer service here. Make an appointment be prepared to sit for more then 45 minutes or more and dont expect a call back if you leave a messages as I have done at least four times.

I am probably the leader of the chicken clan when it comes to dentists. Had a bad experience as a child that completely turned me off and I paid for it over the years. When I went to Smiles it was out of sheer desperation; I was in blinding pain! Dr. Bartholomew has restored my faith in dentists--she put me at ease, is understanding and so patient. And VERY thorough! Same goes for her team--they are total dentistry rock stars. Everyone Ive encountered at Smiles has been very professional and genuinely friendly. If we ever moved out of the area I will definitely make the drive to continue going to Smiles! :)

I had the most traumatic dental procedure at this location. I came in for a simple extraction and it turned into me having to have emergency oral surgery. I had to drive into S.E. Washington, DC in profound pain to an oral surgeon. The pain and the humiliation in driving myself across town was too much to bear. I had to spend an additional $1000 for the other service and pay for the service at this location. Ill never return and advise all to please find another dentist.

I have had nothing but the best experiences at Smiles. The hygienists are very knowledgable and always take the time to explain what they are doing and educate me on the best way to take care of my teeth. Dr. B is awesome. She truly cares for her patients and will go above and beyond to ensure our wellbeing. No one says they like going to the dentist, but i actually do. The staff is friendly, funny, and very helpful.

I wasnt really thrilled with my last dentist, and as Smiles is close to me, I decided to give them a try. I have been very pleased with their practice. They do a good job of benefit determination with your insurance, keep you informed the whole way through treatment, and help you with affordable plans. Dr. Patel is really communicative - explains things very thoroughly.
