I wish I could do 0 stars. My friend went here again for her second child since she did for her first. She is not one to speak up since especially since shes been so hurt from this. So I will. Dr. Powell told her that she needed to pay her bill or she can find someone else to deliver her. Then proceeded to tell her that she rebooked her vacation all because of her and shes sick of getting screwed over. THOSE WORDS! Mind you, she already asked the front desk if she can pay half next time and the next half the following time and she said "oh ya thats fine youre not even due until may" .. so as they were leaving, my friend was embarrassed and so hurt she was in tears, her 3 year old who dr Powell said this in front of, said "mommy did that lady hurt your feelings". How horrible!!! So she found another doctor, who wouldnt!, and when she called for a few of the records. They gave her the run around. The receptionist was so rude to her and told her that it can take a week to figure out costs to get it sent over. My friend is telling her she needs them because shes due for her glucose and shes already high risk because she has a bar in her back from scoliosis..Finally, she tells my friend $5 and we wont fax it over until we have your $5! Just disgusting .. dr Powell told her she wouldnt find someone to take her so late in her pregnancy but she did because the other office was absolutely appalled by their behavior, they were hurting for her!! Her dad is fighting for his life with cancer, she did not deserve this treatment. Pregnancy is suppose to be a happy time. A ob/gyn should not be discussing payment with you. How uncomfortable! Im so glad she chose to post it on her Facebook and many women got to read it. I could understand if she wasnt going to pay or couldnt pay at all but if she had already spoke to someone about her payment plan and was approved by them then why would you tell someone you wont deliver them without their payment. That is disgusting and I hope all women see this before they make the decision to go to such a heartless doctor. Dr. Powell and her receptionist. Not to mention they were so unknowledgeable when asking for a certain record

Wish I could give Negative Stars. The staff is rude as ever. They called the day of my appointment to cancel yes babies come whenever but when Ive waited 3 weeks for an appointment to check on the well being of my baby I was told I wouldnt be able to be seen for another week! I was upset and crying due to being in the error 3 weeks prior and needed to be seen 3 days after for follow up. The girl was really nasty and said I wouldnt talk to her that way (said I was yelling ) bit I was understandably upset and crying she then said rudely I suggest you find another provider hung up I called back several times and she did not answer! The final time she picked up and hung up on me. This is no way to treat patients especially pregnant patients. I wouldnt recommend this office to an enemy. Dr must be desperate to keep staff if she tolerate this nonsense.

I have been going to dr. Powell for a while now since Ive moved into the area and I have found her to be an excellent physician. She is knowledgeable and personable and Ive had only the best care when visiting either one of her locations. Being someone who is at very high risk for breast cancer due to family history I have found she was an incredible advocate for me and was very proactive and ensuring that I got the best preventive care possible. As a nurse, I see how her office works and I dont often share that I am a nurse with medical professionals because I want to be treated as any other patient. Without revealing my medical background I found her to treat me as I would want anyone to be treated if they were in my care or if they were my family member. I am very comfortable with her as my OB/GYN.

I have been going to the oxford office for years. I LOVE Dr Powell and her staff. When making my appointment today I mentioned the reviews to the office lady and she said a couple months ago Dr Powell cleaned house at the other office and the new staff is awesome!

Extremely rude receptionist (wouldnt let me get a word in, kept interrupting) tried billing me for something I had already paid for threatening "further action", long wait times, and terrible bedside manner. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

I love this office. The doctors and staff are so welcoming and they really care. They are so helpful and understanding. Never had a bad visit. I would recommended anybody to go here.

Horrible, rude staff, no bedside manner, long wait times. I am a very easy going person who has never had issues with my doctors, this office has been the exception to that rule!
