I just had a wonderful interaction with Linda of Hillsborough Vision Center. It all started with a phone call: I broke my glasses and needed to get them fixed locally. I explained my situation and she told me she would do her best to help. I left immediately with my four year old in tow. When we arrived, Linda was busy with another customer but she knew immediately who I was and even took the time to introduce herself to my son. As soon as she finished with her current customer, she came over and attended to us. She looked at my glasses and identified the problem. My glasses are a few years old and from a manufacturer that she doesnt represent but she assured me that she would be able to make them serviceable. She took them in the back and in less than five minutes they were looking as good as new. I will definitely go back for new glasses (probably a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses) and any other repairs I might need. I would definitely recommend Linda and Hillsborough Vision Center.

In response to Mr. Nicolass review. The staff here should be given a reward for tolerating your rude behavior. They were polite and courteous in spite of your obnoxious and rude comments and demeanor. I was a witness to it all. Anyone who is reading this should be aware, this "gentleman" was looking for a problem from the moment he arrived. The gentlemen and office staff handled him and his behavior with utmost respect and professionalism. They are always friendly and helpful. A great family oriented business who unfortunately had to deal with an overgrown man-child who wanted to cause a problem instead of the issue being resolved. So please, take the negative review with a grain of salt. The customer was clearly the issue here. Not the business. So props to the staff. They are top class

Eye exam was thorough but when it came time to picking glasses they were not helpful at all!!! First they let me sit there for 15mins before asking me if I was getting glasses then the optical worker informed me how the glasses ranged in price by the section they were in by lowest to highest. Then told me to pick and let him know when I found ones I like?! I have been wearing glasses for over 20 years and I never picked glasses out without assistance or support from optical worker because Once I take my glasses off I can see how they look on my face! I also didnt like the selection of glasses were very limited. So after looking on my own for a few i decided to leave and I will go somewhere else to purchase my eyeglasses.

Went here because they participate in my insurance. You get what you pay for. Help with selection was 0, never called when glasses came in I needed to follow-up with them, even though person answering phone said she called and left a message or our voice mail was full. Hmmmm, I dont think so. When we went to pick up the glasses, was handed the new glasses asked how they felt and was told youre all done. Asked about adjusting the ear pieces and was told there is nothing they can do, really, thats a first. No checking fit, nothing. Today they are loose, so will bring them to another business to complete the fitting which should have been done by Vision Center. Prescription is correct, so I guess thats the main thing.

Exam was quick and efficient but they did not help me with glasses. Person quickly told me my health benefit then left me to determine which frames I could look at. When i finally found a frame, i had to wait over ten minutes for him to come over to tell me those frames were excluded from my benefit. I decided Id probably get the frames elsewhere since they dont have a lot of choices. When I asked for my prescription, they didnt give me the full prescription and said they cannot give it unless I purchase frames from them... I just paid over 100$ for an exam and i cant even get the full prescription? Avoid this place. Very limited frame choices and poor business practices. I wont be returning.

weve been seeing dr. Hilke for almost 10 years. Even after we moved away we still make the 45 minute drive to see dr. Hilke. We recently had my children tested for glasses and dr. Hilke was very patient with them (especially my 4 year old!). Turns out both of my kids needed glasses (for different reasons) and dr. Hilke answered all of my questions and explained their diagnosis in great detail. The staff was super friendly and helpful when it came to choosing glasses. We will continue to make the long drive to visit this practice because for us it is worth it.

Eye exam went fine. Getting glasses was/is another story. The optometrist who "helped" me was not very helpful. And, when he filled out my order he got it wrong. I notified the office and was told I needed to come in to have the glasses checked. After their mistake I was told they would "rush" my lenses. Meanwhile its taken longer than the original order. They have my money and no longer seem inclined to correct their problem. Not going here again. Over two weeks for the corrected lenses. Horrible!

Great experience! I brought my elderly father there last year in a wheel chair and they helped him tremendously. Even came to his nursing home to fix his glasses. This year I brought my kids for their eye exams and they were a little nervous. Dr. Hilke was amazing with them, making them laugh, and adjusting light for their sensitive eyes. Wonderful experience.....will be going here from now on.

Dr Hilke is an extremely knowledgeable and professional Optometrist. I am very squeamish when it comes to anything touching my eyes and Dr Hilke showed me patience and kindness during my examination. It is great to finally find an eye doctor that takes his time and doesnt rush through an examination.
