Vet Yes, Grooming No. Rockaway Beach Veterinary services is a full blown vet services. They have two doctors, pharmacy to fill prescriptions, food, medical services, lab testing, radiology, surgery and grooming. While the vet services are awesome, I strongly would not recommend grooming at this place at all. Please understand that opinions are biased. What is beautiful to me may not be beautiful to others. However, attitude and responding to customer requests can be universally understood. For example, if you told your groomer "dont cut my dogs tail I want it to remain long" --you as the groomer should honor that. This is not the case here. We have a beautiful 9 month old Mini Golden Doodle (see picture) that my wife brought in for grooming. Her instructions were precise and clear(and written down) -- 1. Not to cut the ears, 2. Not to cut the tail, 3. Not to cut the fur too short. OK, my wife was informed by the groomer that number three was not possible because our dogs fur was too matted/tangled. My wife and I have an expensive grooming kit at home. We also have a comb with a blade attachment to remove and cut tangled hair. So it is doable, we were just lazy. Nevertheless, reluctantly my wife agreed to the groomer cutting the coat short, but she did not agree to cutting the tail or ears at all. When we picked up the dog we were shocked. Her ears were cut which was totally against my wifes written instructions. To top it off, her left ear hair was cut so badly it left circular groove on the fur of that ear. From behind the lopsided cut was clear. From the front it was clear that her two ears were cut unevenly. My dog also had a bloody nick on the left side of her neck. When asked why her ears were cut, she said they were matted. When asked why the tail was cut which was not tangled/matted, my wife was answered with a shrug. What was really bad was when these issues were addressed to the doctor, the response was less than apologetic. First of all, not following a customers instructions shows that you dont care and will do whatever you want. Not good. Second, when a customer is upset, the easiest way to repair the relation is to offer some peace offering. Perhaps an offer of credit to our account or even a full refund. Not only were we not offered any type of compensation for not following our written instruction, we were not even offered an apology. Originally, my wife and I agreed that if they showed good faith, we would use the grooming services again and we would continue to use the vet services. But after a non-challant and uncaring attitude, we decided we wont use any of their services. We were offered nothing, not even an apology. For this, theyve lost a customer.

Dr. Ruggerio and her whole staff are amazing. I have 3 very anxious and fearful dogs, and everyone was so kind and patient with them. I have never seen them so calm at a doctors appointment. My oldest has chronic health issues for years, and Dr. Ruggerios insight and suggestions are making me hopeful we may be able to get meaningful treatment for him. They are also very generous, giving me a multiple pet discount, many syringes that I need to dispense medications, and cut all of their nails as a courtesy. I highly recommend Rockaway Beach Veterinary Services!

You guys really are a breath of fresh air... fair, kind and welcoming. With two kittens in the household now, we are looking forward to a long relationship with RBVS and are thrilled you are here. We are so happy to have such compassionate and competent Veterinarians and staff caring for our cat, Gracie. Everyone weve met at the facility have been warm and welcoming. Dr. Ruggiero calls our home every morning to give us an update on Gracie. I have never met Dr. Hollander, but my husband has. He said he liked the way the doctor handled my very nervous dog. Dr. Ruggiero is a kind, patient, knowledgeable doctor. She handled my small, nervous dogs with ease and grace. I have never seen my dogs so put at ease with a total stranger. The same goes with the other staff members, who took blood pressure and trimmed nails. I highly recommend this facility to anyone who wants maximum care with minimum drama. You will not be disappointed!

From the minute you walk in the door the friendliest & kindness that the whole staff shows is amazing!!!!!!! My dog was having seizures when I brought her in & I was so upset I didnt know what to do, well everyone from the staff to Dr. Ruggierrio certainly did, including being so kind to myself & my so we almost forgot why we were there! Ill be forever greatfull!!!! No wait time at all!!! The Dr herself even gave a follow up call to check on my dog!!!! Highly recommended facility!!!!

She is an Amazing Dr. ; she was very polite and very professional , I went for some documents for my upcoming trip so I could take my ESA with me , since 2 days before they got stolen here in far rockaway, and she knew everything that I needed and helped me in short notice . Highly Recommended . Unfourtanely I forgot to ask her for a paper of a vacinne that needed to be with a stamp, and USDA denied me my papers ; so it was money wasted plus papers . Very Sad .

I highly recommend this awesome veterinary practice! Dr. Hollander has a great bedside manner--my "not always so friendly" cat seemed really at ease during his exam. All of the staff I interacted with was warm and professional. Particularly Holly, who was above and beyond helpful to me and my kitty during a difficult time. It is clear that everyone there cares about the health of their patients and providing quality service.

The whole staff was amazing, literally from the moment we stepped foot into the door. They were Very attentive and informative. Out Megga literally ate and slept through his whole exam, shot included. Thats how Amazing Dr. Ruggiero is and how comfortable she made our baby. My appointment time was kept on time. The office was very clean and inviting. They truly have an affection for your pet. They loved my dog, hugs and kisses lncluded free of charge. They are reasonably priced and truly care for the wellbeing of your pet. Thanks to Dr Hollander and Dr Ruggerio and all the kind and friendly staff. They even handled my insurance claim submission. And I was paid accordingly.
