Dr. Zangara is a wonderful vet. Ive been taking my animals here for years. And always have had superb service. Yes, he is expensive. But I learned my lesson a few years ago when I stopped going to him (because he was expensive) I ended up spending more money in the long run at Bide-A-Wee clinic and my dog died, than if I would have just gone to Dr. Zangara from the beginning. My dog at the time was only 5 years old. I will never go anywhere else. Dr. Zangaras office is always clean, staff is always friendly, Dr. Zangara always puts the care of your animals first beyond anything else. He looks forward to seeing your pet/s whenever you come in, you never have to feel uncomfortable about calling the office and asking questions, even if you think your question is stupid. This is a wonderful place. And he certainly does NOT like to hurt animals. My dog hates the X-Ray machine and wails as if being murdered, well guess what? Not all dogs like the x-ray machine. Not all dogs like shots. Not all dogs like the vet. Not all animals will connect with the vet their humans have chosen. Its natural. But when you find a good vet, you stick with him and you are faithful to them.

I took my young cat there somewhere around 3 years ago when he became severely constipated and was in a lot of pain. The vet diagnosed him with Megacolon, knocked him out, gave him 7 or 8 enemas and sent me home with instructions to feed him high-fiber food after a bag of prescription food. A few month later, we were back, same deal, and the doc said that if it happened again and I couldnt afford surgery (which he claimed was unlikely to help) he would PUT MY CAT DOWN!!! I went to Island Veterinary Hospital for a second opinion, where Dr. Balbour educated me on Megacolon. The prescription food must be continued for the cats lifespan, and store bought, high fiber foods actually make it worse! When that wasnt enough, she gently cleaned him out and prescribed oral Lactolose. She assured me that if that wasnt enough, laser surgery as a last resort is often unnecessary, but highly effective. BUT he has been doing fantastically ever since we started the medicine! I wish I knew the name of the doctor I saw at Roosevelt, because it absolutely terrifies me that my cat could have been put down when his condition is so easily manageable... :(

I just had my first visit at Roosevelt Animal Hospital and I can assure you they were willing to work with my on services needed. Dont be swayed by the review below, if you own a dog they are required to be vaccinated every single year. If you havent budgeted this into your annual funds, you shouldnt own a dog. Anyway, I just wanted to balance that by review by saying when I brought a recently adopted stray in to get her vaccines and we found out she was heartwarming postive, the Doctor was incredibly understanding and we shifted our focus on healing my pup, holding off on the vaccines until after her treatment is finished. Maybe the difference is as simple as the Vet realizing I am a responsible dog owner who full intends on vaccinating my pets annually and not just someone trying skirt around proper care and just getting a rabies shot

Very disappointed. Ive been taking my dogs there for over five years. I lost my job and needed to get my dogs rabies shot renewed as required by law. Dr Glassman refused unless I paid for a check-up and renewed a bunch of other shots that I didnt want or felt I needed. Even when I was already there paying $75 for an office visit to remove a piece of something from my my dogs paw, which she didnt and all I got for that money was a suggestion I soak the paw in salt. That was a week ago and I may need to take her to another vet as she is still in paid. Its a scam to lump a bunch of things to a law require vaccination to get more money from pet owner. Its vet like this one that make owning a dog so expensive. Oh, and Im still waiting for my records she said would be mailed to me.

Dr Z came with a dog I adopted from a dying owner. I now use him for all my guys for most everything. He is fair, friendly and offers a couple of alternatives if available. Ive never been pressured to do or purchase anything needed or otherwise. I use a special order supplement that he gets specifically for me and gives me a significant discount on. A office visit is going rate unless there is a treatment involved. Hes OK in my book.

Dr. Zangara at Roosevelt Animal Hospital is a great Vet. I have been taking all of my animals, dogs, cats, guinea pigs to him for over 15 years. He is gentle and kind and really cares. His staff is also great! After surgery they even call the next day to see how your pet is doing. My dog especially loves him. He will kneel down and talk to your dog and play with him. I highly recommend Dr. Zangara. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Roosevelt Animal Hospital maintains an excellent facility with a vet that uses his extensive knowledge base to teach and empower animal owners. As a whole, this little animal hospital is progressive and stays at the forefront of veterinary medicine, offering contemporary treatments that are not guided by price, but by what might best help their animal clients.

Dr.Zangara Sr. is an excellent vet. He understands my dogs needs and has worked with my budget in emergencies. Staff is super friendly and caring towards myself and my furry children. I just wish he had later and more evening hours to avoid going anywhere else.

DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR. Dr. Zagara likes to hurt animals and is highly unprofessional. He is dismissive, incompetent, and a just plain mean person. Never take your pet here.
