I usually go to the Banfield location in Valley Stream and theyve always been great. I relocated so I decided to try out the Lake Grove location even though I was advised against it and I really wish I listened. I have a Maltese that requires a dose of Benadryl prior to any vaccines/procedures and I told the entire staff along with the doctor in charge (Dr. David Aguirre) of his dental procedure that he absolutely needs it. They did not give it to him before giving him the medication required for the dental and he soon broke out in hives and had a major allergic reaction thats still causing him to be swollen and red until now. The Benadryl wasnt given until after this occurred proving the fact that its absolutely necessary he has it. Their response was "it wasnt in his file and this isnt our fault". I called the previous Banfield who confirmed that it was indeed listed in his file and if for any reason it wasnt they completely ignored what both my husband and I said multiple times. The other Banfield location even insisted I file a complaint because it was clear that they were negligent. They didnt care enough to read his records before administering medication and they definitely didnt care enough to listen to what we said over 15 times. I stressed it so much because my little guy is 9 years old and I know him very well. If you care about your pet do yourself a favor and stay far far away from this location. Usually I would be grateful for not having a big bill but they didnt even attempt to charge me for the visit because they very well knew this was a major mistake on their part. Lucky my pup is okay.

They dont disclose everything before doing things to your animals. They arent clear and specific about services, tests etc. Then they rob you blind afterwards saying its incomplete and need to pay for a second opinion to really know--- which was never mentioned prior. The front desk is super rude. Avoid at all costs. We will never Bring an animal back there. I suggest you dont either

The first doctor failed to detect that my dog was cryptorchid... the doctor who did the surgery failed to locate and remove the second testicle... one suture came undone on the drive home from the surgery. The people are nice, I liked one of the doctors, otherwise a poor (and very expensive) experience.
