Hi Everyone, I just wanted to take a moment to relay our experience about our visit to your hospital. You probably get a lot of haters but this is not the case. My daughter began complaining about stomach pain on the 25th of January. We visited our pediatrician on the 26th and were sent home. We returned to the pediatrician on the 28th and she recommended that we go to the emergency room and request an ultrasound. Courtney is not a crier. She plays paintball and is really pretty tough. So on our arrival she walked on her own dry eyed. To myself and probably to the attending nurses it was not apparent the level of her discomfort. So when she was asked and she said it was a 8 on a scale from one to ten, I could have understood for there to be serious doubt. I know I felt it. Courtney was upright and clearly speaking. However the nursing staff did not blink an eye. They took her very seriously. They treated her with compassion and respect. Never accusing her of exaggeration allowing her to maintain her dignity. They even offered her something for the pain, which she refused. We were seen quickly and an ultrasound was performed. A cyst of 4cm was viewed on her right ovary. Again and again she was asked where the pain was and she steadfastly repeated that it was not on the right but all of the way across the front of her abdomen. The Dr. on call, I do not know his name, felt we should stay the night because with that level of pain it was probably going to rupture during the night. Even he took Courtney at her word that it was a level 8. Courtney did not want to wait in the hospital so we took her home. Over the next week nothing changed so on the 5th she insisted on going back to school. It was spirit week after all. At 1:00 PM I received a call from Courtney. She told me she needed to go to the hospital. I immediately went to get her from school. When I picked her up she was calm and a bit depressed. I know she did not want to return to the hospital but the pain had increased. Upon arrival we found the ER very busy. It took a long time to be seen however the nursing staff offered her something to help with the pain during her wait. Again she refused. After a time we were brought in for another ultrasound. The cyst had increased in size but we were not sure that it was the cause of the pain. She still insisted that the pain was across the front of her abdomen not just on one side. At this point we were admitted. We had many visits from doctors and nurses alike. Courtney received an abundant amount of attention. They gave us a room and we waited to find out what the surgical staff wanted to do next. On February 6th Courtney had laparoscopic surgery performed by Dr. Wadie and his staff. Upon completion his thoughts were confirmed. Courtney had a ruptured cyst but not the one viewed on the ultrasound. This cyst had ruptured probably back on January 25th but the blood had not been reabsorbed into the body like usual. So here my strong baby had been really walking around with that kind of pain for almost 2 weeks! I would never have known. She was calm but insistent. The staff had never treated her as if they doubted what she said. They always seemed to take her at face value. True professionals in my opinion! Now I do not know if you have ever had a ruptured cyst. I have and I have to say that the pain is truly exquisite. Because Courtney is apparently tough as nails I had no idea what she was truly going through. However the staff at your hospital always treated her with respect and kindness. Never did they doubt what she was going through. At least they never showed doubt in word or action. They allowed her to retain her dignity. I am so very grateful for the staff at your hospital. I cannot adequately voice my gratitude! Thank you! Cyndi

I would give this hospital 0 stars if I could. I can not express in words how horrific my experience was this morning. I arrived around 10am, I was pretty impressed by how fast everything was going (being from New York), however, they are only so fast because they dont LISTEN. No one communicates here. I answered the same questions 5+ times, and was STILL ignored. I made everyone very aware that I have had Steven Johnson Syndrome in the past, yet they put me on an IV drip of a medication KNOWN to cause this same syndrome. If that isnt bad enough, they hooked me up and LEFT. THANK GOD my husband and mother were with me, to hunt down the nurse who came A FEW MINUTES LATER to take me off of it, then I had to wait another FEW MINUTES before they came back with the benadryl. THIS WOULD HAVE KILLED ME. Let me make that VERY clear. Speaking of the IV, NO ONE EVEN CAME TO LOOK FOR MY VEINS. Three nurses walked in with an ultrasound machine. I asked what it was for, to which I received the response "its a new way of putting in an IV, makes it easier for people with bad veins so we dont have to stick them more than once." As someone who has been stuck multiple times in the past, I thought this sounded great! They kick my mother and husband out and tell them it will be "about 10 minutes." They get started, the nurse performing inserted the needle. The other 2 nurses are DIRECTING HER. THIS WAS HER FIRST TIME! THEY EXPERIMENTED ON ME WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR PERMISSION! This was a PROCEDURE. They inserted in my forearm, and were describing, in detail, how to push the needle up through my arm. I was getting nauseous, and I verbalized this, MORE THAN ONCE. "Im going to throw up." I said. "Youre doing great!" They replied, every single time. I said "Oh my god!" "OW!" ...No response, I was ignored while they bullshitted with each other. I started crying. Ignored once more. Finally I asked why this was taking so long, and why I didnt get a regular needle as I have gotten in the past, I said this was bordering traumatizing, as I have a phobia of needles. Without asking, they pull it out. I said "SO YOU DIDNT FINISH?" to which they replied "well, we dont want to traumatize you." AFTER 30 MINUTES OF DIGGING AROUND MY INSIDES, I WOULD HAVE RATHER HAD THEM FINISH THAN CAUSE ME TO GET STUCK, ONCE AGAIN! "You agreed to this" is what they had the nerve to tell me. I WAS NOT INFORMED OF WHAT THIS PROCEDURE WOULD ENTAIL, NOR THAT I WAS BEING EXPERIMENTED ON LIKE A LAB RAT! Miserable, MISERABLE experience and will avoid this hospital AT ALL COSTS!

Horrible ER. People waiting over four hours in the ER. I ended up being there for ten hours; came in at 5:30pm but didnt see a doctor until 9:30 and lest around 3:15am. The vending machines dont work (not a huge deal but everyone was really hungry) & the staff knew this, but never informed the all the guests wasting their money on it. The nurse & doctor would knock but immediately open the door; its courteous to wait until you hear the patient say "yes" or "okay" especially in incidents where the person has to undress. I had to undress & the didnt even put the curtain up to block the door for extra privacy. The nurse took three viles of blood but when the doctor came in he said he only needed two. She left the other one in my room all night. After having no contact with either nurse or doctor for two hours, the nurse comes in asking if I got an ultrasound yet. I said no and noted how I didnt know what was going on. She then responded with, "oh I think its because we have to do this other test first."-which was a pregnancy test, although I have taken ten in the last few months and all were negative. She gives me my cup & notes where the bathroom was. I get dressed & left my room. I was new to this hospital & forgot where the bathroom was, so I went to the counter to ask. My nurse was texting on her cellphone & didnt notice me nor did the other nurses. I have to ask three times for her until she hears me & just points in the direction of the bathroom. Later, I am wait again with no updates for a few hours in my room; I finally stepped out & caught another nurse. I ask her what was going on. She is kind enough to get answers for me, sit down with me & showed me how to use the remote for the tv as well as the call button in my room. This was about four hours of me sitting in my room. When I got all my tests done even then I couldnt be informed what was going on because they told me the doctor likes to explain it. I understand but you can at least tell me what you found! Even when the doctor came back in (around 3am) he couldnt explain what I had-which was a polyp. He said it wasnt life threatening so I could go home...never mind the fact that Ive been bleeding for two months straight with clots bigger than a quarter. When I finally got to leave I was informed that my test results would be online to access. They never were and I was then informed by the online messaging system that I needed to sign for them. I never knew the cost of my visit either until I asked when I finally picked up my records a couple weeks later.
