No matter when I come to RMH, I feel safe and I believe I will get the best treatment possilbe, because everyone here cares and treats you with the upmost respect and professionalism. To walk into the ER and feel like you will be given the best care and treated with kindness makes a big difference to a patient, whether an adult or a child. I have been here and the doctors, nurses, staff and guards are friendly faces that make you feel like everything will be alright. On hectic days you are taken care of like no one else is there but you. The Ambulatory Unit is so well staffed, nurses are so reassuring and attend to your needs. The doctors and technicians treat you with kindness listening to your questions and taking their precious time to answer any questions. The staff provides a human treatment that is vital to a good recovery, nothing compares to a wonderful recovery due to the care you recieve. The Cancer Unit is state of the art, the doctors, nurses and staff will go to any means to make sure all is done to help you. They are an inspiration when we need it the most. They never give up on us. The Surgeons are wonderful they give their personal care and attention to a patients needs, they give us hope and we are not a number but a person with fears and questions. We feel comfortable around them and we believe they will do anything to makes us feel better. From admittance, ER and all the departments the staff, to food service personel and maintenance people, the hospital shines with smiles and cleaniness what an impression this makes to some ones first visit. This is so important for patients to want to return to RMH, first impressions mean so much. The Surgery Units are so well staffed, you feel at ease when you are most fearful they give you something so important and that is letting you know they care.and giving the best of their knowledge to give us better health, we are assured we are getting the best doctors and nurses and technicians. The Ward Care is staffed with kindness, caring friendly staff they let us know we are in the best of hands with the most professional people caring for you and giving you a friendly smile that we all need and making you top priority for their care, just knowing we are not alone in a room but just a call away form an attentive staff, they stop in all the time just to check on our needs and to stay a minute for a small chat. No big city hospital can compare to RMH (I know) and I am so thankful to each and every one of the people who work here and are involved in keeping this hospital #1 on my list. I went to RMH and I am never going back again even if I am dying! I went because I had not been able to hold down food or water all day and was severely dehydrated. When I first went in the where very nice and I went back into a room right away, but after that it was horrible! The doctor barely even examined me and dismissed me. The nurse talked to me in a baby voice, even though I am over 21 and politely asked her to treat me like an adult because I was treating her as an adult. They kept making me drink grape juice which just came right back up. Then nurse baby voice got an attitude because I kept throwing up the juice and yelling at me that I was dehydrated and I needed to keep it down. I have no idea why they did not start an IV to keep my hydrated or give me nausea medicine to stop the vomiting. Then for over three hours I had no nurse of doctor come in. And after I had been in the ER a total of 6 hours the doctor came in and said he was discharging me there was nothing they could do. When I was discharged no one came in to show me how to get out or told me if I owed a co-pay or anything so I wondered around for over five minutes trying to find a check-out and I finally gave up and just left. I was sicker leaving then going in! Luckily I found a local doctor the next day that diagnosed me with food posioning and was able to help me. DO NOT GO TO RHM!

Besides Shenandoah Memorial Hospital, This hospital is one of the worst facilities to attempt medical attention at. Not only is it a 5 hour wait in the emergency department but if a 4 year old goes in throwing up they make you sit in the corner for EVEN longer. Worse scenario I have dealt with due to the facility was refusal to give medical treatment to a friend of mine. He was taken by ambulance to Shenandoah where they are not highly equipped with certain machines to run tests and the ER doctor asked RMH if they would accept him there because his Neurologist is there. They straight REFUSED to accept him and treat him. At that time he needed an urologist (which Shenandoah did not have as well) because they ripped him open when they tried to catheterize him when he was in a coma...yet still got refused. I now gladly taken him to Fairfax Hospital to see all new doctors and his health has improved. I would not trust RMH to even take care of a simple cold or flu. Everytime you walk into a hospital whether it be RMH or SMH they all accuse you of being on illegal drugs when ALL bloodwork and urine screens were negative. The facility is nice looking but the people are RUDE and all the facility is worried about is money, money, money.

This hospital was great. We were passing through the area on I-81 and suddenly needed the services of an ER. The hospital was conveniently located, modern and state-of-the-art, and the building was easy to navigate. The staff in the ER was friendly, attentive, efficient, and expedient. Even though it was a pretty busy evening in the ER, we werent left waiting long, and were rapidly taken back to an exam room, where the nurses, admin staff, and doctor interacted with us like a well-choreographed team. All were knowledgeable and had great bedside manner. By far the best ER Ive ever been to. The hospital pharmacy staff was also helpful and friendly, despite being pretty backed up, and we were big fans of their system of notifying us when the prescriptions were ready-- beepers like you might find in a restaurant while waiting for a table. Since we werent stuck waiting by the pharmacy, we stopped in the cafeteria, which was also very impressive. All in all, having to go to the hospital isnt something you want to do, but if you have to, this is a great place to do it.

Its like the doctors want to spend as little time as possible with patient. Had emergency surgery 3 times in a month and know as little now as I did the first time, the things the Urologists suggested I do so it wouldnt happen again only made my problem worse and happen faster, its truly like they were guessing. Dr. Morra is an absolute quack imho who was more focused on what he wanted the cause to be as opposed to what it actually was. Hospital has a heavy emphasis on shoving pills down your throat and be prepared to wait ridiculous amounts of time and to be asked the same questions over, and over, and over, and over again. 60% of the nurses are great, truly shining examples of their field, the other 40 are the utter worst rude bottom of the barrel dregs, especially in the emergency room. If you need medical attention and arent immediately dying, save yourself a large amount of trouble and go to UVA, Augusta medical, or Valley health in page county.
