I had an amazing experience with Beckett Springs. (Maiden name Capella) In early 2014 when I found out I was pregnant with my youngest child, I was severely addicted to heroin. Not only was I in shock I was pregnant, but I was so screwed up from drugs that this time was one of the hardest times Ive had in my life. For obvious reasons I was scared to get help bc of fear theyd take my baby, but I found all the security I needed at beckett. They are dual diagnosis and luckily at the time I came there one of the doctors had experience with medical detox for pregnant women. I came in extremely ridiculously late that night and got help almost immediately. They fed me in the intake/assessment room. The process of getting to my room took forever but thats bc I brought way too much crap with me. (lol) My detox was not bad at all, I got all the meds I needed (and could safely be prescribed), I saw my doctor everyday, and the food (and the that time reading more recent reviews) was AMAZING!!! If I didnt like what they were having you could ask the chef for grilled cheese, or pb&j and that was for anyone not just the pregnant over eating addict. :) I had a problem with them not accepting my Insurance, but the doctor worked her magic and I was able to stay with no worry of a crazy bill when I left. Needless to say I had an amazing experience while I was there. HOWEVER, I needed far more help than the program they have there. I have heard they have residential treatment now, but Im very disappointed they STILL dont accept my insurance. I didnt do well after I left, in fact I tried to go back again while I was pregnant but the doctor just had seen no longer worked there and none of the other doctors felt safe caring for a pregnant woman. Needless to say, reading all these reviews is that you need to read paperwork before you sign it which is where you couldnt see that they can hold you for up to 72 hours, which is for EVERY HOSPITAL YOU GO TO! Also, that places like this are slow thats just how it is. if you find a fast rehab center clue me in. I recommend people here all the time and have yet to hear a complaint. Downfall they have is a very high overturn of doctors. But as for other employees theyve had the same woman since they opened answering the phones. I think that says a lot. My husband was one of the first patients here when they opened and since then hes been there for at least 3 times (not really a good thing on the addiction aspect but showing he likes going there if he had to choose a detox facility) and has never had a complaint except that they can hold you and thats the inner addiction speaking bc if you wanted the help you wouldnt mind being there. Thanks again for the awesome help I received when I was there, and the help I received while I was a family member of a patient there. one last thing is amazing is they encourage you to go to groups but if your sick and feeling awful during detox youre allowed to rest. you are not forced into groups like most places. However when you are feeling good better you are required to attend groups. anyways thanks!!!

I stayed at Beckett for seven days to get my meds straight. I have so many doctors all prescribing so many meds that I needed help reducing my side affects and creating a balance. They helped me learn when to take meds so my stomach can tolerate all the meds I need in a 24 hour span. How many calories I need before putting certain pills on my stomach I have been diagnosed with Stomach ulcers, Rheumatoid arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Interstitial cystitis, Severe Food Allergies, Asthma PTSD, Chronic Depression & Anxiety. I also have a very small stomach due to a bariatric sleeve for weight loss. AS you can clearly tell I take a ton of pills with all these diagnoses. I was sent here by my last specialist my Rheumatologists to find the combination of drugs to treat all my symptoms in a safe, non addictive and beneficial way with very minimal side affects. WOW ! What a relief to me and my family!!! Speaking with other patients who have the same problem as me (multiple medical and physiologic diagnoses) was extremely beneficial I learned about my diagnoses in more detail. This facility is immaculate being only 4 years old. It has a safe environment so if your meds go left your safe! Make the most it and go to all their classes. Its Fun! For me it was amazing and I now feel like MY AUTHENTIC SELF. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH ALL STAFF. BUT........... THE COMPANY HAS THIS PLACE WELL UNDERSTAFFED; NEEDING MORE PCS OR CNAS. TO KEEP ELDERLY & HIGH RISK FALL PATIENTS SAFER. ALARMS ON CLOTHING WHEELCHAIRS ALARMS, WHEELCHAIR NECK SUPPORT CUSHION FOR A NAP, SUPPORT LAP CUSHIONS TO PREVENT STANDING AND PROVIDE TAKE SPACE TO READ ETC.. BED BUMP GUARDS TO PREVENT A PATIENT FROM FALLING OF THE BED **** SUPER SPECIAL PEOPLE WITH CARING HEARTS. They have a full center so call ahead for a consult ASAP GET THE HELP YOU NEED and good luck to finding your Authentic you ! MiMi

I attended the partial hospitalization program(php) from 3/31/15-4/15/15 & then continued with Intensive outpatient program(iop) from 4/17/15-5/29/15. At the time I would have had a much higher rating for the programs but I can no longer do that now that I know what the billing process is like. Everytime I think that my account is paid in full Ill seemingly at random receive another bill. I feel like this process will never end and it is terrible for my anxiety! I have received and paid in full invoices, that came from three different account numbers in July 2015, November 2015, July 2016. (The November 2015 invoice actually came from a collection agency even though I never received an invoice for that particular bill from the hospital or I would have paid it at that time) I thought I was finally paid in full after the random bill in July 2016 (14 months after I finished my time at BS) but I just received a new invoice dated 12/21/16 (a full 18 months later) I have not received an EOB statement from my insurance company for the dates of service since August 2015, so where are these bills coming from? The newest bill gave me an anxiety attack because I thought I was finally free of this nightmare. In conclusion, I can only recommend BS if you have someone that can take care of the billing/Insurance process for you otherwise its going to be a constant anxiety causing headache with no end in sight.

My mother was a patient at Beckett Springs as a transfer from Bethesda North for severe depression. I would like to first acknowledge the helpful service of the social worker in communicating with me and facilitating contacts for care after my mother left the facility. My mother also had positive interactions with the nurses on her unit who I also met briefly and who were helpful in discussing her care. However, my other observations are less than positive. They are severely understaffed for intake - we waited in a room for three hours, most of that time by ourselves with a stack of papers to fill out. When my mother was finally moved to her room at almost midnight, she was required to sign more papers. It was 48 hours before she was seen by a psychiatrist and she never had a session with a psychologist. About that same time, she was approached by the business office for payment of her copay - which I felt was inappropriate when she is being treated for a mental health issue and I clearly had POA. Since her discharge, the social worker has made herself available but there has been no follow up otherwise. I never had any direct contact with her psychiatrist. Almost a month later, we are still waiting to see an outpatient psychiatrist - which is too long to suffer without assistance for severe depression.
