I was looking for an eye care clinic closer to home after going to the same doctor for 20 years. I wanted somewhere I felt I would still have that comfortable, part of the family, feeling. I chose Hermitage Eye Care based on the excellent reviews online. I was not disappointed from the time I made the initial call to set up my appointment throughout the entire visit. Everyone was so nice, friendly and genuine. Alysia, at the front desk, was very welcoming. Dr. Hammond was personable and knowledgeable. He took the time to ask about me personally before he ever started the exam, then he went through every step and explained everything to me thoroughly. The ladies that did the other tests, Erica & Patti, were great also. I was very pleasantly surprised by how helpful the optician, Megan, was. I have never had anyone take the time to actually pick out frames for me and help me decide which looked best on me. She listened to what I liked and didnt like and helped narrow it down to exactly what I had in mind. Unlike other clinics, she never pushed any of the more expensive frames or lens upgrades on me. She offered them and explained them to me, but I never felt pushed to purchase them. My appointment was only 2 days ago and I have already recommended Hermitage Eye Care to family and friends as I will continue to do. If you are looking for an excellent eye care clinic with a warm and friendly staff, then look no further!

God blessed me with Hermitage Eye Care in Hermitage, TN! I took the prescription from an optometrist here in Paducah, KY to them--because I couldnt find anyone here to suit my needs. The optometrist that examined my eyes here, got the computer prescription wrong. After well over a year, Hermitage Eye Care gave me a free eye exam so they could give me the correct computer glasses! (They didnt know that I couldnt use them because I didnt tell them--I knew it wasnt their fault) My lenses on my other glasses were still under warranty and I had taken them back to be replaced because of a slight defect. As soon as I told Carrie, the sweet office manager, that I couldnt use my computer glasses, she went to the optometrist, Dr. Phillip Hammond, and asked him to give me a free eye exam for my computer glasses! He treated me with utmost courtesy and grace! It is so nice to not have to crook my neck to look up at the computer screen!!! I can see 20/20 with both pairs of glasses! No other optometrist or ophthalmologist has ever gotten my prescription so accurate...(they tell me that I am extremely far sided. One ophthalmologist told me that he would have to operate on my eyes before eyeglasses could give me 20/20) He was wrong! The drive is definitely worth the difference! HOORAY! Thank you, Melissa Fargason for recommending them to me!!! :)

Would not recommend this facility - had nothing but problems! Nobody helped me pick out the best sized frames for my strong prescription. My glasses had to be returned 4 times because I could not see out of the lenses (saw double, felt like I was in a fishbowl, couldnt read, etc.) Their reasoning was the frame being too big. I should have been told that when I purchased them. I then picked out a smaller frame and I still could not see. Hermitage Eye Care refunded the money for the glasses, but still refuses to refund my money for the exam. If the prescription was incorrect, the exam obviously was incorrect. I had the initial eye exam and then a recheck - the doctor himself stated during the second exam that there was a mistake the first time around. I went to a different doctor last week - my glasses were perfect the first time around and I can see beautifully.

If I could give 6 out of 5 stars I would! I have gone to Hermitage Eye Care as long as I can remember and would never consider going anywhere else. Dr. Hammond and his staff continually go above and beyond to make your experience better than you could ever want. The atmosphere they have is that of one big family where you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. Everyone is highly knowledgeable of all aspects of vision and they have AWESOME looking glasses and sunglasses! I recently got some polarized Nike sunglasses from them and they are by far my favorite sunglasses Ive owned. If you want the best experience possible then this is the place for you!

My first visit to Dr Hammond and I could not be more pleased! They staff is very professional and friendly. My appointment was on time!! When I met Dr Hammond he was very friendly and informative. I appreciate him taking the time to talk to me about my visit and preventive information about a condition that is hereditary in my family. He was very honest and did not try to sell me glasses that I did not need at the time. I appreciate honesty as we all do. I would recommend Dr Hammond to anyone.

Extraordinary! The best eye care service I have ever experienced. You will be glad you selected this office. A pleasant greeting, the staff was knowledgeable and Dr. Hammond was so attentive to my needs. He listened and made sense of my confusion over glasses vs. Contacts and helped with my transition to progressive lenses. Fashion forward glasses and professional service that is top notch. I would give them a 10 if it were possible.

Dr. Hammond and his staff are amazing! His staff makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door. And Dr. Hammond takes time with you - time to get to know you. You never feel like a number. This is truly personalized care. I am also always impressed with how up-to-date they are with the styles of frames. I love to change out my frames - and I know I can go here to get the most trendy selection.

I started going to Dr. Hammond after I received Lasik surgery from another Optometrist, and I couldnt be happier with the services he provides! Dr. Hammond is very personable and takes the time to explain things to me (which I greatly appreciate). I have learned things about my eyes that no one has ever explained to me before! I had not been to see Dr. Hammond because I moved and now came back to him. Other eye centers the technician does most of the lens strength which is a problem when they dont know what they are doing. Dr. Hammond does all the work himself and takes time to ask you questions. I will never go to anyone else. Great Dr. and he really cares about you.
