Normally I would not write something negative I would just be passive because I am so private but I couldnt believe what happened to me at Pathway. I was told over the phone my insurance was accepted I also told them over the phone that I couldnt talk about the trama/grief yet and i needed help. I was in terrible emotional pain with flashbacks so I was not functioning well at all but hopeful I could get some direction. They invited me back to a room where I had two people doing an intake which was overwhelming especially when the first question was asked very coldly with, "What is bothering you?" Well I havent been able to speak about my trauma with words yet which is why I came in - I was full of emotion without words. I got up out of the chair and left the office running and crying. I couldnt talk yet, I had pictures in my mind but no way to express it without deep emotion. So, I ran out of the building and went home. The next day I called and wanted to try again. Its just so hard finding a place to go and I really thought they could help me. I didn t keep that appointment because I just could not talk with words yet. So, about a month later i called again because the emotional pain was so unbearable I was wanting to die. This time with the intake over the phone I was able to describe a bit of the trama and tell them I was wanting to die. The girl on the phone who did the intake was amazing and I felt hope already. I set an appointment and went into the office which was hard because last time I ran out crying but I needed the help. I was told that the therapist Michelle was running late which was fine so I waited and then they told me after waiting that they didnt take my insurance not even out of network. I was willing and ready to pay for at least a consultation I was suicidal and needed the help. They turned me away. Well, thankfully after some research I found Avenues Psychiatry and Counseling and they got me in the very next day. I was able to get a start on working on the PTSD and the grief. Look Pathways, I have no problem with businesses making money but there is a fine line between ethics, human suffering and the making of money. Some places have success finding a balance but I dont believe Pathways has just yet. Making an income from the suffering of others can be confusing. It wasnt all bad because the girl, Kim who does the phone intake showed the greatest compassion and I thank her for her help.

I found these folks after an exhausting internet and personal search. I will say hands down this is the best run facility in SLC. Unlike other support groups that you sit around in a circle and hash out your war stories for 3 hours ( which is helpful to no one) this facility treats the whole person. with on-site doctors, behavioral specialists, psychologists, and an easy flexible schedule for folks who have to work and have a family. Other places are so regimented its almost impossible to have a full-time job and get help.. not here.. The staff is so caring and the owner is one of a kind gem, Michelle really cares about us all... I have never felt more supported and loved :) thank you Pathways!!!!

I have had the pleasure to work with Michelle Ammerman for quite some time. She cares deeply for each client and their pursuit of a healthy life in recovery. Michelle takes the time to pair a therapist and recovery specialist with each individual based on their needs, which lends to better communication and overall outcomes. I am very proud to work for Michelle, and to be a part of such an amazing team! Pathways goes far beyond substance abuse alone. It creates a safe place where clients can dig deeper in to the true reasons behind the addictions. Once identified, our team works to empower our clients to understand the value of life, self-worth, and self-love.

Pathways gave me the ability to be able to love myself enough to choose to be sober for my son who has just turned one. We have a bright future ahead of us and I thank everyone at Pathways from CEO Michelle to line staff who I will not name for anonymity purposes. I have learned that mind body and spirit I was seriously lacking the skills necessary to live a fulfilling life. I now have the skills to not only be myself but to accept others, have compassion, be accountable, have faith and hope and courage, parenting skills, self soothing skills, communication skills, and many more. And I will be forever thankful.

Wow, the experience with Pathways is an amazing one. Learning about the program from Michelle and seeing how the client journey works for someone recovering from addiction, substance abuse, or behavioral health is pretty neat. They customize the experience for everyone and basically what I got out of it is a custom experience. If you want the real deal and not something cookie cutter or 12-step specific, these guys are the place to go.

Well, I dont know how much my opinion counts, but Ive worked in this industry for over 20 years and Pathways modality is by far the best Ive ever encountered. So many programs want to say their "individually tailored", BUT THEYRE NOT!!! Pathways really is and I love that!! We have great staff and a very high success rate and Im grateful to be a part of such a fantastic program!! =D
