So, since I live in Tooele I decided to stay local and take my animals to this clinic. This was a pretty crappy idea. At first it was great, I had no problems. First- if you have nothing else better to do, you can wait 30+ minutes after your scheduled appointment to be seen. Dr. Gowan does not utilize his staff as he should. Technicians should be there to help your business; not hinder it. Second- I had asked one of the technicians to please place the vaccine in the leg rather than the scruff of my dog, just in case there was a reaction to rabies vaccine (his first rabies) there wouldnt be any question as to which vaccine caused the reaction if there were multiple vaccines placed. I was met with attitude from the technician. Mild inconvenience; but lets get one thing clear I am not your average client. I went to school and graduated with my associates in veterinary technology. I still have a lot to learn when it comes to the veterinary field but dont treat me like Im an idiot and I have no reason to ask you to do certain things to my animals. I am asking for a reason. Vaccine associated sarcomas are real (albeit rare) and it is easier to take off a limb than to take off a head because of it. Customer service should he high on your list. Giving your clients attitude guarantees that client will not come back to your clinic hence no revenue coming in. Client education should be as well. If you dont know something, ask the vet. The last straw for me was today when I called and asked to get my pups ears posted. I was told that after 12 weeks they will not post the ears (my dog is 6 months) because they will not stay up. I dont believe that information is accurate. How hard would it have been to just humor me take my 15 dollars and posted the ears? Even if it didnt work, hey guess what I would have learned my lesson. Could have been like hey, posting the ears this late there is a chance that they still might not stay up but we can post them anyways. I could have made a choice yet my decision was made for me. My dogs ears are staying up they probably need one more good posting before they are able to completely stand. All that being said, Im just tired of the runaround and what I feel is laziness on their part. Will be looking for another clinic even if it means I need to go into Salt Lake to do so. While it sounds like good riddance, Ive got 3 dogs and 2 cats thats a lot of revenue to lose. While its not always about money; that is the bottom line. If you want your customers to come back there needs to be some serious improvements to this clinic.

I would NEVER take your pet to this vet. I was always seeing Monica and she was so teribble! I took my cat into them because he had diaherra for 3 weeks they gave him a shot which caused infection between his shoulder blades. Then I took him into them again because of the infection and they gave me more medication to give to him that the side affect was diaherra and caused it to come back. I ended up taking him in again and they gave him another shot in the same spot of infection then told me it was nothing and that she drained it. I asked her because he was still acting really weird what can we do next because of how odd he was acting and she said we can do surgery next. In the whole process I had my cats blood drawn in November and a month later when she said surgery may be the next best thing she called me on Dec. 31 and told me that my cats blood count was only a 14, she told me he may have to have a blood transfussion. I also had to change my cats food which I pay over $60 bucks a month on hard food and wet food. I took my cat to an emergency doctor on Dec. 31 because she just said keep an eye on him and the vet took his blood again and showed me that his blood levels were fine. I switched vets and the emergency vet ended up getting all of the records from Countryside Animal Clinic and they actually dewormed my cat and gave him shots that I was NEVER informed of! When we took my cat to the emergency vet he was covered in scabs and come to find out they were from Monica poking my cat in multiple spots trying to get blood, again this was never told to me. I have paid this vet over $1,000 on food and tests and for visits for them to try to cover their own mistake. I have taken my cat to the other vet 3 times and have paid over $400 to fix the problem of the other vet and for the blood tests to come back right! My cat is on the perscription ID food and I went to Petsmart to buy some and I had to get a medical card saying I can buy it, they called Countryside Animal Clinic to verify it and they were asked how long it is being perscribed and their answer, we dont have a time frame. Shows me how many mistakes they made that were again unknown. DO NOT EVER TAKE OR TRUST THE VETS HERE! I would go in and they would never help me right away and would avoid helping me once they realized that they made a mistake. Also, the solution that was given. . . stop giving him medication. I stopped all medication and within 2 weeks he was completely normal.

I have had 3 dogs that I have taken to Gowans office. One Chocolate Lab and 2 Boxers and he has been fabulous, very patient and loving to all three of my dogs. Unfortunately one of my Boxers and my Chocolate Lab passed. Before they passed he had diagnosed them and gave us all of the options that were possible with the 2 dogs. He did not try to talk us into blowing any money if we didnt have to. My 12 year old lab had breast cancer and he ran some tests and told s that surgery would probably kill her because of her health and that it would be best that when it was time, to take her in to put her down. The day we were planning on taking her in, she passed at home. My 8 year old boxer he got down on his knees and said," how are you old girl while he was petting her. He stood up and said immediately that she was going through kidney failure. He told us that were could take her in and keep putting her on IVs but, she would soon pass any was because she was too far gone. A week before that I had taken her to Roundys office and all they wanted to do is milk me for money and didnt even catch the kidney failure. She also passed at home. My male boxer has had some mishaps like clipping the side of some sharp metal ripping the skin on his side about a 4 inch gash and also got into a fight with another dog and had 1 and 1/2 inch gash on his neck. Considering how many times we have seen him, he has always been very sweet and you can tell he LOVES animals. Also every time we have called in to get an appointment, if it was urgent, we were told to bring them right in ASAP. I will never go to another vet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
