Going to a doctor of any sort can be daunting; this is why I am thankful for the team at Eastern Virginia Eye Associates and my doctor, Dr. Swatts. The front desk staff is very friendly and professional. Service is quick; I have yet to wait longer than 10 minutes before I am greeted by a technician who begins the exam process. I am particularly impressed with Dr. Swatts, as he doesnt merely check my eyes, write a prescription, and send me on my way; rather, he takes the time to explain the issues I have with my eyes and why he is recommending a particular treatment or prescription. Not only that, he gives me excellent suggestions regarding how I can avoid future issues with my eyes and how I can maintain their overall heath. Finally, I absolutely LOVE the EVEA optometry team! They always take their time when helping me choose new frames for either my sunglasses or regular glasses, and I am always pleased with the type of frames and quality of frames they choose for me. I would highly recommend EVEA to anyone who is interested in receiving quality eye care from a team that really cares about the health of your eyes.

I love this office!!! I had no wait time, the ladies at the front desk were polite and quick to get me signed in. The techs that did my exam were friendly and you could tell they knew their stuff. The equipment this office uses is some crazy high tech stuff. Ive never had any of it used on me before and I have been going to the eye doctors for glasses and contact lenses for over 25+ years. It made me feel like I was getting a thorough exam, instead of just reading from a chart and then bye! Have a nice day, like places Ive been in the past. Dr. Swatts and Dr. Swatts are awesome. I met them both. You can tell they really care about their patients. They took the time to explain my results to me and what those results meant in laymens terms which I appreciate. I felt confident in their assessments as a result. To top it all of the guy who helped me pick out my glasses was really really nice and patient. Im pretty indecisive and he was fantastic and tolerant and I appreciated his assistance. I left a very happy lady and highly recommend their practice for all of your eye care needs.

Over the years, I have been to a number of optometrists around Hampton Roads searching for a practice where I feel Im getting first-class, comprehensive eye care in a relaxed but professional setting. My experience at EVEA exceeded all of my expectations. The doctors are exceptional. Never had I been to a private optometry practice that trains optometry students and residents. Neither had I been to a practice that took such an extensive medical history, or took my blood pressure and vitals. They have the most current devices, but their personal touch is what really blew me away. The nurses and doctor spent considerable time answering my questions and explaining each procedure and their results. The office is beautiful and the staff is courteous and respectful. These people are pros and get my highest recommendation.

I would not go anywhere else for eye care. The staff is friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. I was impressed that I was greeted by name on a date that I just popped in to look at new sunglasses. Dr. Swatts and Dr. Ramos are fabulous. I never feel that they are going through the motions. They have a genuine interest in my eye care. The doctors were able to explain my diagnosis in a plain manner, so I never feel that they were talking over my head. Finally, the optical department has a wide variety of glasses from which to choose. I never felt rushed and the technicians were very helpful in suggesting frames that properly fit my face. All in all, EVEA is top notch.

Ive been seeing Dr. Ramos for well over 10 years now, when she was located at an older building. Ive also had the pleasure of meeting her husband, Dr. Swatts, and a few other doctors. I cannot express how amazing everyone is who works here. The receptionists and opticians are always kind, courteous, and personable. The doctors actually care about your health, and give honest answers to your questions. The facility is sparkling clean, and they offer refreshments and snacks as well. I have visited quite a few doctors in Hampton Roads, and whenever someone asks me for a recommendation, I dont hesitate to send them here. Keep up the great work, everyone.

My mother went in for an eye exam and her experience was less than ideal. She saw Dr. Swass (not sure of spelling), who came in dilated and examined her eyes, showed her a video and gave her a diagnosis of a progressive eye disease. She left with no prognosis, limited understanding of diagnosis, a referral for corneal surgery and eyes extremely sensitive to light. No one thought to inform her that she may not be able to drive, needless to say, she ended up pulled over on side of road waiting for a ride. I called and spoke to clinical supervisor who took my complaint with no follow up!!

The staff is an amazing group and the optometrist that my boys and I saw were very helpful and professional. They can schedule immediate appointments and get you in at your visit quickly. Unfortunately I couldnt afford the frames I had chosen due to an unforeseen illness with 2 of my pets and one of those requiring extensive vetanerian care. I contacted Eastern Virginia eye associates and let them know my situation. Even though my glasses were already on the way, my restocking fee was canceled and my full frame and lense charge was refunded.

Wonderful experience each and every time that I have been there. First of all, as a busy businessman and father, they are on time. There havent been the 30 min. waits that accompany most doctor visits. Secondly, the staff is courteous and professional and remembers me each time I come in. There is no reason to go anywhere else.

Not impressed. Wont go back. Dr. Ramos did such a quick and poor exam she never noticed my eye disease that was diagnosed shortly afterward by another doctor. They were overpriced on services and products. A couple of the staff were okay...nothing extraordinary in friendliness. Dont go there!

Coating on glasses failed and would not stand behind product as they were just over 1 year old. I will go to a place with better customer service.
