I have been a patient at Clarus Eye Center for over 10 years, and overall, I think its a great place for eye care. I started going there in 1997 for my regular eye exams and contact lenses. The doctor I had was -- okay. He was young and seemed a little "green", but my prescriptions were always correct. When I really started loving Clarus was when I decided to get Laser Eye Surgery. When I first decided to get the surgery, I didnt go to Clarus because the price was about 1,500.00 more than a chain clinic in Renton. However, when I went to Renton for my consultation, I wasnt even allowed to see a doctor. They ran a bunch of tests, took measurements, and then scheduled my surgery. When I asked if I was getting Lasik or PRK surgery, I was told the doctor would decide once the procedure started! Yep - big red flag. So I cut my losses and went to Clarus, where I was seen by Dr. Rudd, who is actually an eye specialist. My consultation was extensive, and he explained everything I needed to know and answered all my questions -- he told me the risks of the surgery, his success rate, how enhancements were handled, and even walked me through how the procedure would go. His assistant went over financing options with me, and I was able to finance the surgery through Capital One. The surgery itself went very fast. I couldnt believe that I could actually see better immediately after the surgery. I went home to rest, and the doctor actually called me at home that night to make sure I was doing okay and answer any questions I had! I only gave Clarus 4 stars because the wait times can be excessively long, although that is understandable with the volume of patients they see. They are very accommodating; on more than one occasion they have "fit me in" when I needed to see someone right away. In my experience, their billing practices are accurate, fair, and timely.

The doctors are wonderful, thorough, and experienced! But...schedule first thing in the morning or youll be pushed through in a hurry. Please dont buy your glasses at this establishment. I bought glasses that I could have purchased for half the price or less at Costco. Additionally this was the WORST customer service I have ever had in my life (in the eyeglass purchasing department). I was ignored by several staff passing by without even checking in to see if I had been helped. No acknowledgement at all. Even a person sitting at the desk who just seemed too busy to acknowledge a customer. It was as if the customers were invisible. Waited forever -- after they told me to sit down with my prescription. Absolutely no multi-tasking at all. Once ordered, waited for my new glasses. When I tried on my new glasses, I couldnt read. They had to re-measure and re-order. The prescription was incorrect. Had to go back in and pick up new glassses. Amazingly when I returned the second time, the guy at the table next to me had the same experience. Tried on his new glasses and they didnt work at all. Had to re-measure and re-order and go away to wait two weeks. Please. They were rude, uncaring, snotty, and provided very poor customer service. I was polite but very frustrated. Then, after I began to get restless after waiting over an hour to pick up my new glasses, they had the audacity to talk about me in front of my husband who was sitting in the lobby. I would fire the whole lot if I owned that place. They just dont get it. Good luck if you take the risk. Do something about it. Please.

I first went to Clarus a couple years ago and was happy enough I decided to go back since they were still covered by my insurance. It took nearly two hours for a simple eye exam, and of that time, I saw the dr. for five minutes. The service was abrupt and unfriendly. When I did finally see the dr., he came in, took a few measurements, tossed me a prescription and asked if I wanted contacts ordered. I had to stop him as he was walking out the door to ask questions like "Has my prescription changed? and How are my eyes doing?" I dont mind the use of trained technicians, but when I have to ASK for the results of the exam and then treated like Im being a bother, Im not impressed. I ordered my contact lenses through the on-site optical center, but wanted to order glasses online because I had a speific pair in mind. I asked them to measure my pupillary distance (which Ive done a couple times before with no problem) and first was told she didnt know what I meant because that could mean a lot of things. Then she went to ask someone and came back to tell me she could do it, but would need to charge me a $25 fee. Ill be looking for another eye doctor for next year.

My experience at Clarus Eye Centre has been extremely positive! From the first time I arrived at Clarus in October, 2013 and all through my treatment leading up to my Bladeless Lasik Surgery in December, 2013 (and all my appointments following surgery) I have had a great experience there! Everyone is so professional and yet, friendly and personable and I always feel like I get great care and all my questions answered. Dr. Rudd is a TERRIFIC doctor and the Refractive Surgery Coordinator, Craig Shoulders is AWESOME! I would highly recommend Dr. Rudd, Craig and everyone at Clarus if you are looking for an outstanding clinic for your eye care and if you are considering Lasik Surgery.

I simply cannot find enough positive words to describe my care at Clarus Eye Center! From the initial exam through my cataract .surgery and post op appointment ...my experience could not have been better. Dr. Rudd is a fabulous coach during the actual surgery as he talks you through every step of the "light" show. Everyone on staff is professional, answers patient questions, and really appears to like their job. I was surprised to even get a personal phone call from Dr. Rudd that same day just to see how I was doing. Lindsay, the surgical coordinator, was well-informed, smart and funny...and you even get flowers on the way out!!!

I very recently got Lasik through Clarus. Craig helped me immensely in getting my process started. Dr. Rudd was also very professional. They helped me feel comfortable and at ease with my choice to get the surgery. Both Craig and Dr. Rudd were supportive from start to finish. Dr. Rudd even called my cell phone the night after surgery to make sure I was healing alright. Not to mention the results- no more glasses or contacts! In my eyes (no pun), this was a great experience and I recommend Clarus to anyone. In fact, my parents are following in my footsteps with the surgery!

I RECENTLY HAD CATARACT SURGERY AT CLARUS EYE CENTER BY DR RUDD. DR RUDD AND HIS STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY! THEY MADE WHOLE EXPERIENCE WORRY FREE AND STRESS FREE. IM REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO HAVE MY SECOND EYE DONE IN THREE WEEKS! I CAN ALREADY TELL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE EYE THEY JUST FINISHED. I HIGH LY RECOMMEND CLARUS EYE CENTER! SINCERELY RITA MATLOCK PS: MY HUSBAND WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THEIR SERVICE ALSO. THEY SERVICED FREE COFFEE, TEA AND JUICE ALSO SNACKS WHILE HE WAITED.
