ok so i read all of these reviews. the one regarding paying 700 to spay a dog, any dog....well if true that stinks. show quality or not i dont pay more for one dog over another by breed? dr. stacey has been very kind to me. i read an article that she wrote regarding holistic treatment for dogs with reoccurring ear issues. that would be my Ruby! i sent her an email on a sunday, and she got back to me same day. she never knew if she would sell me anything, she got back to me just so i could help my dog. she actually treated my dog across the country as she is in newyork, i am in texas. anywho, she has never been rude if i didnt buy something, actually she has been more than fair with her pricing. she absolutley cares more about my Ruby than she does makinga few bucks on product! one thing that she did that i also just loved, si she told me things i never knew so i could be more self sufficient. not need a vet for some things. she told me that you can push the q-tip into the ear until it stops. not jam it in, but rather push it till you feel an end cuz it will bend on a 90 degree angle, so unless you are jamming it in there, you will not hurt your dogs ears. i have always been made to feel sort of paranoid to clean their ears myslef. i did it, but i was a bit nervous. she also recommended that i flush them. you know with the baby bulb thing for baby boogers :) that has helped a lot also. again, that stuff saves the owner money. i think she is great! she is very smart. she explains things well. **** i am very picky on vet care, i like to be involved with their care, and i would be upset if someone pushed me about money....sometimes money is just not there even for myself. she has never done any of these things. she also gets back to me very quickly when i email....i wish she was closer especially since i really like the idea of mixing in holistic things when i can. ***i would absolutley never write all peaches and creme reviews if i didnt totally stand by them. i really think she is great! nobody will please everyone, but dr. stacey has definitely been a winner when it comes to treating the loves of my life! xoxoxo

I have been going to Dr. Hershman with my fiancee and her dog since May 2012. Everything was fine until it came time for the dog to be spayed in 2013. She quoted my fiancee a price of around $700 for spaying. We decided to go through the Friends of Animals Charity instead. Ever since we told Dr. Hershman that we used the charity for spaying, shes been argumentative and resentful. She felt that because our dog is a show quality dog, we should have paid her whatever she wanted. We reluctantly came again this year (2014) and she is still argumentative, resentful and confrontational with us. Bottom line, she gets very angry and upset with you if you dont buy anything and everything that she recommends. This will be the last time we are going to tolerate her behavior. I could not believe how she went on a tirade because we did not want to purchase the things she was recommending to us. Her assistant was standing next to her in disbelief. We can go anywhere and spend our money for a more professional attitude. I would not recommend this vet to anyone unless youre willing to buy everything she sells and recommends.

Dr. Hershman is the best vet around. She is so good I drive from Maryland to NY to see her. She loves my dog. Her exams are thorough and she is open to questions on all matters. She tries to find ways to save money but at the same time lets me know what I must do to keep my dog healthy. She asks what I feed my dog and gives me literature to expand my knowledge. She expects the owner to be involved and I respect that. More importantly she is so experienced she sees things many other vets do not. So I recommend her to people who love their pets enough to get involved. I have known her to devote round the clock care to patients in order to save them. She donates so much of herself to her patients and that is why she is the best.
