I gave birth to my premie son on 2/10/17. It was a very busy day for them but the staff was absolutely wonderful. Apart from the standard labor and delivery - I opted for an epidural that went smoothly. They offer many options for a more natural birthing experience as well as options for a pain-free experience. Just ask and chances are they have it! The L&D (extra large!) & Recovery rooms (a bit smaller) are all private with a private bathroom (and shower). The recovery staff was absolutely out of this world. They did everything and anything you asked of them and were all so incredibly friendly. My nurse for most of the time was Lisa and she was very supportive and knowledgeable about our babies NICU plan as well as how to help us out as new parents. She took the time to walk my husband through changing our sons diaper, getting him dressed and walked us through what will be normal and what to do as far as premie expectations. The NICU staff was on point and in touch with everything that was going on with me and the baby and did their best to accommodate our wishes. They kept us informed on every little detail without us asking and brought him to us when he was able to. When it was time for me to be discharged as a patient, I was given the option of staying in a separate wing closer to NICU that was dedicated to parents who wanted to stay while their chicks was in NICU. All meals were provided in the recovery room as well as the special care moms room (NICU). The hospital provides diapering needs for the baby and sanitary needs for mom as well as lactation support.

I have been to many hospitals in my life and this is by far the best hospital Ive ever been to. I had neck surgery with Dr. Peris. From the day I first visited his office he was easy to talk to and extremely knowledgeable, having done 100s of these neck surgeries. Speaking to him was almost like speaking to a friend. During the surgery Dr. Peris had a team of specialists and nurses watching over me the entire time and keeping family updated every step of the way. Prior to meeting Dr. Peris, I met with many surgeons throughout New York City and across the state of New York. As soon as I met Dr. Peris, I knew he was the right doctor due to his experience and transparency about everything, explaining all of my options including the pros and cons, and his confidence eased my fears. I spent the night at Northern Westchester Hospital. The nurses were amazing and super friendly. I couldnt of asked for a better experience. Thank you Dr. Peris and Northern Westchester Hospital. Now I can rebuild my strength and have a good quality of life. I will finish this review off with the fact that I was terrified about having this surgery, so for anyone needing it, if Dr. Peris recommends it, do it, its not even close to as bad as you think, its easy if you have the right Doctor. I can already feel the relief from not having bulging discs going into my nerves.

My family has been here for too many Heath concerns. It used to be a good hospital, and used to have a good ER. However, after being acquired by North Shore LIJ, the ER wait times have become ridiculously and painfully long- as if you are in a crowded NYC public hospital, even though there is only one or two other people waiting. Twice I brought my kids in to the ER since its been a North Shore LIJ hospital. The first time I walked out after having gone through triage and then was waiting four hours in a room, and the receptionist lady called for me to come back and said that she will get someone to see us. Again, there was such little activity in the ER, its pathetic that anyone waits hours to see a doctor. Then, the doctor is pretty much like a school nurse who will take your childs temperature and look in his or her ears. Incompetent and not thorough at all. Also a family friend who is a RN at this hospital informed me that the hospital staffing is short because of budget cuts due to the acquisition. All in all, they have a terrible ER and its understaffed or staffed by people who dont care to tend to patients. Its a shame because it used to be a good hospital with an excellent ER. Also the generic response on this Google forum from "the owner" is apathetic and not good business practice either!

I am very dissappointed with this place. My husband went to ER and spent there 4 hours without any help. Some nurse just came to take bp and social worker that cared only about how would he pay the bill. But no one even asked my husband about how is he doing. He went to emergency room after accident during work!!!! Wouldnt that be the first thing they should care about? Where is patient care and where is the principle of "first, do no harm." To me it sounds like a joke or a sad joke rather. Someone at the hospital said when my husband was about to leave without being seen after several hours by a physician assistant that there are more important patients with more serious emergencies than his case. But the problem is that no one really even came to ask how is he for few hours. As much as I understand that there are in fact more serious emergencies, they should at least let us know that he might be better of to seek medical help somewhere else. I am pretty sure though that the medical bill will be in thousands range just for sitting and waiting for never being assisted or helped by the doctor.

Ambulatory surgery was a terrible experience. Bed sheets were so thin you could feel and see the bed right through it. Was was extremely small with two people in it. When I asked to be moved to another room because of the number of people and the noise level from the patient next to me I was totally ignored. My stress was definitely increased because of the other patient and their "group". The fact that my request was not even responded to was to me ignoring my needs. In order to relax for a few minutes I was take my IV and go into the too small bathroom and sit there for 5 or 10 minutes at a clip. I was in this room for approximately 3 hours until my surgeon came in and saw the noise and confusion going on the room. He then sent in his OR nurse to help me. I did call and complain another day and was told someone would call me back to discuss the situation. Naturally, I have never received a call. My experiences with White Plains Hospital as well as Putnam Country Hospital have been excellent. I shall have to find doctors servicing other than NWH.

Went to the emergency room a week ago and injured my back. After waiting awhile nurse came in to take my vitals and ask me my pain level which was a 10 plus. Seeing I was in pain told me to put on a gown offering no assistance and I was also by myself . Again after waiting another 2 hours dr. Sent me for x-rays at this point my husband finally arrived ,after the x-rays kept waiting again till I was finally given pain killers then again left waiting. Finally I was told not by a dr that they didnt know if it was an old fracture or new fracture , my husband and I suggested maybe a MRI was necessary that didnt go over well they basically sent me on my way and recommended me see an orthopedist ,the name they recommended turns out didnt even deal in spines. My husband and I left went to another dr few days later who automatically suggested an MRI and turns out was a brand new fracture that needs immediate treatment . I really thought I was in goods hands in Northern Westchester but I was so mistaken .
