By far the WORST nursing service ever! They do not care about their patients and have many unqualified nurses and physical therapist. They love taking money from you and giving you unnecessary visits so they can come to your house, use your phone to dial in that they came in and then just leave without really doing anything. One time, a nurse came in 2 hours late, did not apologize, took out some unsterilized gloves from her shopping bag and started to poke at my wound, never even washed her hands before. I had to stop her from poking my wound for no reason!! She even had me guess my blood pressure when she wrote it in her report! I was like do you not have a blood pressure machine?! She said I forgot its in my car - what kind of nurses has the gut to be so lazy and pathetic. Then she said make sure to change your bandage and walked out - I was telling my self well "no $h!T." Few weeks later I got you must pay your co-pays which they overcharged by $300 - good thing I caught in time. This happened to me multiple times. PLEASE DO NOT USE VNSNY if you really care about your health and that of your loved one. This organization needs to be shut down!

Im having a very similar exp with VNS. I just gon on the web to find the complaint number bec I want to be switched to a different agency. I had surgery for a fractured neck and hemorrhaging in my spinal cord and they DID NOT send a nurse, an aid, a therapist, NO ONE for at least a week. And then when one of the nurses finally showed up I explained to him that the doctor was worried I might have an infection in my incision and that the dressing needed to be changed. He was very snotty about it, and concerned himself with the fact that I was "getting too much home care. You should not be getting 4 hrs of service." Then he proceeded to clean my incision WITHOUT putting on gloves. Worst of all, he used a very harsh tape, the kind you use on top of fabric bandages and it got stuck on my skin which caused me to break out even more. All he did was complain about what the insurance was or wasnt going to pay for, and how I should not even be getting home care even though he could clearly see that I was in so much pain that I was barely mobile. What a terrible way to be treated after a grueling hospital exp.

Visiting nurse service of New York is the mother of partners of care. Its the first agency i have used for my mother its been a year and its the worst. The supervisor Louisa is the only one I can say that make sure things happened. But reaching her is the worst. There no direct number for her. So what was on the phone holding for an hour and when someone answer the phone at 558 tell me that the agency is closed. I begin to express the frustration she began to talk over me like my thoughts doesnt matter. I hate this agency and Im tired of there poor service. Bad aides that are not training to think for someone that is an elder or disable. They famous quotes are everyone is different. They need to have better communication and training for the aides. They are the worst. If I wasnt around my mother would have been dead by now. She has a broken ankle for threee weeks and the consistent aide never said nothing. I hate this agency.. and visiting nurse service of New York is responsible for this poorly ran agency

VNS CHOICE is the worst service provider , I am frustrated to keep calling them to order supplies or follow up supplies but they do not care about the patient standard care. They do not supply enough to take care of patient. Even though last wound care supplies did not delivered on 08-05-2016 and when I asked for signature who received the delivery , the VNS representative never return my call . I called every time to asked we do not received the supplies , please find out from the vendor where the supplies =was delivered but they always said the vendor lines are busy and never return the call to us to inform who received the supplies. When I asked I would like to Nurse Manager and Nurse Iola Mitchele, No one available always. Patients has tremendous amount of leekage from wounds and we dont have gauze pads, tape, tegaderm films and other itmes which was due since august 01, 2016.

Great company. They have a comprehensive care plan, which includes RN, OT, PT, speech therapist, and social worker. THeyre very intune with how to best manage your care, and always try to plan ahead.
