We decided to change from a Family Doctor to a Pediatrician for our two kids right after our second baby was born Dec. 2016. Our second child had her first "Well Child" check-up the week after she was born with Dr. Kathleen Cain (December 29th 2016). We received Dr. Cains name from our Insurance Providers list of covered Pediatricians. For starters I was not asked for our insurance card from the front desk staff and was required to schedule our next appointment right then and there at the beginning. Weird. Next the medical assistant smelled like cigarettes and used a paper towel to write down answers to questions she was asking me about our baby. Dr. Cain then came in wearing sweat pants, and a sweat suit jacket, not scrubs or a nice outfit (again weird, she is a doctor right?). After asking her about ways that I could increase my milk production she told me that I must have a mental problem and that is what is causing me to not create enough milk for my baby. Not the fact that I had the same problem with my son and I have a few female issues that can hinder being able to fully breast feed my child. She also said that they would not accept us because we opted to not get the flu shot this year. We do have all of the other recommended vaccinations. She proceeded to only look my daughter over for a hot second. The rest of the time she talked to me as if I was uneducated and stupid. She then told us about going to her first funeral of a child that lost its life to the flu and about 50 other ways our child could die. If I did not already have a 2 1/2 year old, I would never sleep again. The thought of my child, or any child for that matter, dying felt incredibly uncalled for! I was not given any information regarding my babys health (growth/progress report). Other than her heart sounded good and she is "a stout little thing". Instead I was handed paperwork on the flu and how it can kill. She was very unprofessional and so was the office environment we walked into. Need-less-to-say we will never be back. We cancelled the next appointment after giving our insurance info over the phone that very same day. Naturally a few weeks later, we received a bill for the full appointment cost. They did not submit into our insurance. I had to call them back and have them resend to insurance. I will never recommend this Doctor or office to anyone. I scheduled our babys second "Well Child" checkup with Dr. Trabrizi with Stormont Vail (in the same vicinity). She is AMAZING and we will be staying with her! I only wish I wouldnt have WASTED our babys first appointment with Dr. Cain!

I do not recommend her to not even my worst enemy. She is horrible and is barely educated because every time we asked her a question she would just give us a peice of paper she printed off the Internet and tell us to read that because she didnt know, and if we would have stayed my son would have perished because she threatened us with CPS and forced us to overfeed him which caused him to poop and puke everything up so he never gained any weight and we werent able to switch or do anything to help him till we were finally able to take my sick baby to the hospital and they got the proof that she is a QUACK and was basically killing him, and ever since we switched to Dr. Tabrizi across the road, he has gained so much weight and is so happy and healthy. Dr. Cain should not be around children and I am working on a report right now because I do not want anyone else to go thru what me and my family went thru.

Dr. Cain was Elizabeths doctor at the time she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She made sure we got to the right doctors when it was time for a second opinion. She stayed up all night personally treating Elizabeth in the hospital with pneumonia and then got her moved to Childrens Mercy as soon as it was apparent that things were getting worse, not better. She even visited Elizabeth in the Rehab hospital when she was relearning to walk and swallow. She answered questions, held my hand, and was a shoulder to cry on. We love her.

I am a first time mom and with that comes alot of what ifs... i had my son with a different pediatrician in town and got alot of my questions answered with" oh its your first time. " i switched him to Dr.Cain and Ive been very happy with her and get staff. They answer ALL of questions without making me feel dumb or paranoid. The office is very clean and kid friendly. I honestly look forward to his appointments and love the comfort in knowing that if theres any emergency he can see HIS doctor not an emergency room. I HIGHLY recommend!

Worst experience Ive ever had, she disrespected me as a mother, tried to tell me how to raise my kids and she also told me if I didnt give my kid a flu shot, then she will die. They also read my daughters shot records wrong and tried to redose her with shots that she got last year. Thank goodness I caught it before they have her shots. My daughters did not like her at all and my youngest, who never hates any doctor, was scared of her. Never again would I go there

The worst pediatric office to take your child. My fiance and I waited in the waiting room for 20 minutes, finally got into a room and waited an additional 30 minutes, and when the doctor finally came in she checked him out and left all within 5 minutes. Anytime we had any concerns we would ask her about she handed us a paper and told us to read it or basically told us were doing something wrong. Were now taking our baby to a different pediatrician.

All three of my kiddos have seen Dr. Cain from birth. I love that she is a common sense provider. Shes encouraged me to trust my parental instincts and to partner with her team when I feel like something isnt right. A lot of doctors just want to medicate everything. Dr. Cain has never written a prescription for any of my girls when it wasnt absolutely necessary. I trust her so much that I referred my sister when she had her first little boy.

Dr. Cain always takes the time to answer any questions or concerns. She also goes above and beyond to check the status and health of your little one. Often giving out her phone number for late night emergencies or concerns if needed. Something else I love, is that she makes sure that all of her patients are fully vaccinated. She sides with science! I couldnt be happier with our choice of a pediatrician for our children.

Every time I go in to see Dr. Cain and her staff has been a pleasant experience, whether it is for a well child visit or a more emergent situation. She is always caring, approachable, and considerate of me and my child. I love the flexible hours, the urgent care options (that gives me wonderful peace of mind), and the fact that she is a pediatric specialist. I wouldnt think of going anywhere else. Thank you, Dr. Cain!
