Its unfortunate that the bad reviews that the previous owner had are still shown even though this clinic is under new ownership, because Dr. Soliman and her staff at Mississippi Animal Hospital are our #1 choice after being with Broadview Animal Clinic for 8+ years. The location is convenient for us, the hours are AMAZING, and they truly take walk-ins anytime (without giving you attitude about it, as our previous vet did). Let me tell you about my first experience with Dr. Soliman. I needed to get to the vet quickly as one of my 3 year olds saw a bug (a flea!) on my dogs back while he was petting him. We had never experienced fleas before, so I grabbed Rex, and my 3 year old twin boys, and drove over to Broadview, where I had been a loyal client for over 8 years. Because I missed the "window" for walk-ins by literally FIVE minutes, they turned me away. A client for that many years, and I was treated like some schmo off the street. So, I piled my kiddos and pup back in the car and headed towards Mississippi Animal Hospital. I had remembered the flier that I got months before, so I decided to give them a try. Best decision ever. Dr. Soliman and her staff were welcoming, compassionate, and saw us within minutes of arrival. She treated Rex, and sent us home with instructions on how to care for the flea problem. We were in and out within minutes (which, with two 3 year olds is very important!), and I left feeling like a valued patient. Our second experience with Mississippi Animal Clinic was in October when we came across a stray pup running down Peoria. My husband and I picked up this sad little girl, who had no tags and who had likely been on the run for weeks, as she was matted and thin. We immediately drove her to the clinic to be scanned for a chip (there wasnt one), and Dr. Soliman immediately took a liking to her. She gave her a very thorough and gentle exam (the pup was shaking and scared), and sent us on our way. As the days went by, we got the dog cleaned up, and searched for her owners, and in the meantime, Dr. Soliman called several times to see how she was doing. After our search for her owners turned up nothing but dead ends, we eventually decided that this dog, Boo, adopted *us*, so we scheduled a spay and full dental a couple of weeks later. Dr. Soliman and her staff took wonderful care of her, and to this day whenever they see us, they always remember the day we first brought Boo in. =) Just last week, we had an emergency with Rex, where he needed a toenail (that had been torn past the quick) removed. They were going to need to sedate him, so I had expressed that I wished we had time to do a dental while he was sedated (it was after 5 pm). Once again exceeding my expectations, Dr. Soliman and her vet tech, Kara, stayed late on a Friday night to fulfill my wishes. These are people who truly CARE about the animals that are brought in as if they were their own. I never once received a follow-up call from our vet (or a vet tech), checking on our pups while we were with Broadview Animal Clinic. The prices at Mississippi Animal Clinic are very fair (comparable with most vet clinics in the area), but its their compassion and care for us and our beloved dogs that will keep me coming back. Theres something to be said for a vet who isnt afraid to get as attached to our pets as we are, and thats why Dr. Soliman and her staff will continue to see us, Rexy and Boo, as we need veterinary care in the future.

I had to take my 11 year old cat Vincent to an animal hospital because he was vomiting, not drinking well and not eating well. I previously went to Dr. Sunshine when he owned Mississippi Animal Hospital and I am so glad I came back to see Dr. Soliman! Dr. Soliman and her staff are absolutely amazing! They were able to see Vincent the same day, 30 minutes after I called. They were very kind, welcoming and saw us quickly so we didnt have to wait. The vet tech took detailed notes about Vincents condition and treated him very kindly. Dr. Soliman saw him and recommended a course of action. Initially, she wanted to do several different tests but after expressing my concern about my ability to pay, she offered to start with the most relevant testing and then work our way from there. Bloodwork was done within a few hours and they had a diagnosis. When I picked Vincent up, I was told exactly what I needed to do with him, how and why he was taking the medications he was given, what to do if I encountered any problems and we discussed Vincents dental problems and decided we would tackle those on our follow up visit. I never felt pressured to do any tests or anything that wasnt necessary. Dr. Soliman and her staff called at least three times to make sure Vincent was doing well and he was taking his medication. On his follow up visit a week later, I had them do some tooth extractions and a dental cleaning. They offered the same wonderful care they did on his other visit. I am so glad I brought my baby boy here! I would recommend this animal hospital to anyone. I am so grateful to Dr. Soliman and her staff for taking such good care of my little man and I will be bringing my other cat and dog here from now on. ***EDIT*** Over a year later, I have been to four different animal hospitals in the area for my dog and cats (including Vincent, mentioned in the original review!). As much as I absolutely loved the way myself and my animals were treated by the staff here, I have to say the prices are honestly outrageous. We recently took our other cat to have her teeth looked at by another clinic. She had to have 10 (TEN!!!) teeth extracted. She had to be sedated. It was $301 TOTAL. We paid I believe around $1,000 to have Vincents 4 (yes, four) teeth pulled. If this place dropped their prices to anything remotely reasonable, I would continue to come here. However, I can have the same wonderful service for much cheaper elsewhere. I originally rated them 5 stars and I stand by that for how we were taken care of but for value, absolutely a 1 star.

I guess the ownership changed recently as the name and staff are all unfamiliar to me. Ive taken my adult dog and puppy here for almost a year, since I moved to Aurora. The previous vets were excellent in caring for my pup when she got parvo, and the staff was knowledgable and wonderful as well. I called to get a "total cost" of having my puppy (now 10 months) spayed here two days ago and was told "right about $350". I was a little shocked by the price but the receptionist elaborated on the figure, stating that an exam and blood work had to be done. I shopped around, calling 4 other local well reviewed vets using the same line requesting a TOTAL. This place was a little cheaper and I figured the old staff was there, just under a new name, so I set up an appointment for this morning and dropped her off. I did call back 20 minutes after dropping her off to add microchipping for a quoted $45 - so I was expecting a bill in the $400 range. I will note: in signing the paperwork at time of drop off I purposefully did NOT initial the line that allowed the vet to do anything extra without my consent, and circled the bit in that sentence that said to call me for authorization. I received NO call. Heck, they didnt even call me to let me know that her blood work had checked out and that they would proceed with the spaying as they had promised to do... I only learned that when I called them over 4 hours later to see what was going on. My bill was $650. $250 over the quote with the microchipping factored in. My invoice has 17 items on it so I dont even know at this point what is standard for this procedure - this procedure that I was told went off without a hitch. The girl checking me out was probably 17 and on her first or second day of work Im guessing, so I didnt feel compelled to lay in to her nor delay getting my pup home. Its unfortunate since this place is conveniently 2 miles away, but I will NEVER bring my animals back here. Get a PRINTED QUOTE first if you decide to take your chances here.
