Sadly, you requested a review, which I was really trying to avoid. But you asked for it. Overland advertises wonderful kennel service for vacation. They gave us the grand tour, assuring us that our dogs would be treated with the same care we treat our dogs ourselves. They even offered a video camera so we could keep an eye on our little furballs and we payed for a television so our dogs wouldnt be bored. How I wish we would have taken our dogs somewhere else. The whole trip, I watched in anguish as my poor babies were left unattended for so long. They were so stressed, they were peeing on their own food bowls because the place was never taken care of and they were ignored most of the time. And one night I watched in horror as a dog dish was left in the middle of the bed that my three babies were supposed to sleep on!! Poor Taz was so so traumatized when I picked him up that he didnt eat for days. Spock forgot his bathroom skills and Abbie acted like she needed therapy. I know we were totally freaked out when we came to pick them up and found that the dogs beds, dishes, etc were soaked in urine. Additionally, the special diets we had them on were totally ignored, and the very pricey food we brought to feed them was still in their containers when we picked them up after the week was up. This was so horrible an experience that we went out and bought an RV so we never have to leave these poor babies home again. DONT KENNEL HERE. As an aside, the veterinary services seem to be okay. We did pay for a trainer to help with Abbies fear of going through a dog door, but as with everything else, this was sorely lacking. We tried to contact the trainer to come for additional lessons, but because he was so embarrassed by the treatment our dogs received during the kenneling, he couldnt look us in the eye. (he confessed he was ashamed). YOU ASKED FOR IT. Be careful who you guys ask for reviews. And offering the excuse that you were training new people who didnt know the routine is not sufficient. You didnt even play the television (we could tell on the video). And you had the nerve to charge us an exorbitant fee for this abuse. We wouldnt walk into your kennel if it was the last place on earth.

Our two kitties spent 10 days at Overland Animal Hospital. It was their first time boarding anywhere so we were concerned that we knew the facility and their routine ahead of time. Nine years ago, our 6 year-old, perfectly healthy dog died due to the negligence of a boarding employee and the facility owner (NOT in Colorado, but we went on recommendations and did not study the facility prior to boarding her there a number of times). Having had that painful experience, we wanted to make sure that we did our due diligence this time on the front end. My husband and I showed up unannounced to tour the premises and especially the cat boarding area. We were warmly welcomed and assigned a worker to show us around. What we found was a clean, pleasant facility with workers who seemed interested in giving appropriate care and attention to the boarded animals. The dogs and cats there seemed content and well-cared for. Our questions were welcomed and fully answered. Following the tour, we booked our appointment as we were satisfied with what we saw. Although our kitties couldnt express their opinions when we picked them up, they looked to be content. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our only wish would have been that we could have viewed our kitties online while we were away as you can with the dogs that are boarded there. Well be back!

This place is absolutely terrible as far as the boarding goes. First off I was an employee there for a short time and the disorganization and confusion in the pet resort is ridiculous. I cant tell you how many times a dog or cat was over medicated or under medicated, under fed or over fed, or fed the wrong food. It happened nearly everyday. Im not joking, and we were told to tell the pet owners nothing. As for the playtime, individual dogs are supposed to get out three times a day for about 20 minutes. That never happened either, during slow days they got out maybe twice but during holidays there would be several days where dogs werent getting out at all! There was also an issue over a holiday weekend and Overland over booked themselves like they do every holiday, and dogs had to be placed in isolation kennels and cats had to be kept in the surgery kennels. Those clients were paying for their cat to be kept in a suite but instead were kept in a cold metal cage, and the owners were never told anything. I always tell people to take your pet somewhere else when asked about this place. The veterinary hospital is great, but the pet resort is not. They really put on a good front but take it from someone who worked there, there are so many mistakes and problems with the day to day care of the animals I wouldnt trust my animals to board there.

Overland and especially Dr. Brown are wonderful, caring and professional. The facilities are top notch, clean and modern. Front desk folks are super friendly and do everything they can to make your visit for both you and your pet stressless and efficient. Dr Brown by far is truly a knowledgeable, compassionate and caring person. She explains the situation in clear and understandable terms and patiently gives you all the options and possible courses of action. My one pup is a 130# rescue who can be anxious around new people. His size and tendency to bark very very loud would cause some vets concern and require muzzling him. But she knew how to give him some space, show the right amount of confidence and alpha that he needed to gain her trust. Also, I cannot say enough about Erika the trainer. She helped me to learn the techniques and how to communicate with my pup. She worked with me to gain the knowledge and consistency I needed so that my pup could begin to understand what I was was asking or wanting from him. They also have daycare, boarding and grooming so overland has all the pet services you need which is nice in building a relationship with them so they really get to know your pet and vice versa.

Baron, our German Shorthaired Pointer, spends many days at Overland and we love it as much as he does! The doggy daycare is fantastic- Baron always comes back exhausted and the people working there regularly express how much fun they had with Baron during the day. Overland also provides Baron his grooming services, which he gets while hes at daycare and so, is very convenient. Dr. Friedlander is our Vet and she is wonderful. Shes always keeping an eye out for Baron while hes there. She is thorough and you can tell that she really cares about our furry family member. Additionally, Baron has had a number of classes with Drew, the resident trainer, and he is truly a dog whisperer. I cant imagine having Baron without the foundation Drew provided. Overall, we couldnt live without having Overland nearby. Every time we go, we are always greeted with the biggest smiles and love for Baron. Its a really special place.
