I had been out of town and drove three hours to get home extremely sick. I had taken ibuprofen to help with the fever and pain that I was experiencing. I explained to the person attending that I had actually been sick for two months and that it felt like I had infection spread throughout my body and the pain I was experiencing was worse than labor pains (the pain was behind my right ear and eye, and spread to what felt like my organs. She immediately dismissed me as if I was making it up and said that she would not prescribe antibiotics for no reason and sent me home. She also said that they could not take any blood samples on a Sunday and that I would have to come back Monday. I was too weak and in so much pain to argue. After returning home, I ended up having to drive myself to the emergency room at 3:00 a.m. as the pain and fever escalated. I had a severe sinus infection and fluid behind my right ear, and was immediately put on antibiotics and steroids. I have a follow-up to have surgery on my sinuses. I was charged more than my co-pay was supposed to be and was told by First Meds HR dept. that I would be refunded, which never happened. They then called to bill me for the part that my insurance did not pay, but sent the bill to an address from two years ago after I spend 20 minutes in their office filling out the five pages of paperwork to update my personal information during check-in! The entire staff demonstrated incompetence on how they handled everything. I will never go back.

The physician that i saw had the WORST bedside manner. Phyllis Ann Malanka was her name. She was very nasty and rude and I would leave before EVER being seen by her again. She rolled her eyes several times, did a lot of heavy breathing and would barely turn to face me when speaking to me. I informed her that I was trying to conceive and couldnt take certain types of medication....she stared at me over her glasses, rolled her eyes, took back the script she had given me, tore it in half and in the most sarcastic tone said, "is there anything else you want to tell me? You need to take something over the counter" and walked out. Never have I been treated such a way. I will not recommend her to anyone! She acted as if I were not worth her time and was a burden....very unprofessional with a horrible attitude for this line of work. They open at 8am and i was seen by 10am so, It was still very early in the morning when I was seen, so there should have definitely been less attitude at this hour.

Spent two hours here and left disappointed and in tears. Only three other patients were in here while I was so Im very confused as to why it took so long. I, myself have worked in an urgent care/family care setting so Im always a little more forgiving than the average person. That being said, it takes a lot for me to write a negative review. The staff was incredibly cold and unfriendly, obviously annoyed to be there. The Provider clearly didnt want to see me, both being pregnant women I had hoped for a little understanding but instead felt like I had the plague and the 8ft distance between us couldnt have been farther. The two minutes spent talking to me felt very rushed and it was disappointing when she even told me that her doctor recommended her not treat cases like mine but she was the only provider so she "had no choice." All in all, couldnt have felt more unwanted at a place that was supposed to help me feel better.

This is not your typical Doctors Office. First of all, youll be greeted warmly and made to feel right at home. You do not have to sit awaiting your time with the doctor for more than a few minutes. The doctor treats you like a friend rather than a patient. Youre complemented for weight loss, or controlling your BP, etc. Youll never feel rushed, and will leave with a sense of quality time with the doctor. Until all of your questions or concerns are addressed, you will have the complete concern of the attending physician. Youll clearly understand what instructions youve been given and will know exactly whats expected of you and when to return for follow up. Like I began. . . this isnt your normal doctors office visit.

this place is a joke and does not care about their patients. any doctor who can turn away a sick and pittifully crying little toddler is a sad excuse for a human being. last year we took our daughter then and were turned away because she was under 2. The other day she developed a head cold and got worse during the day and started having signs of an ear infection. After confirming their hours my wife took our 2 and half year old there at 720 and was turned away because they were too busy to see her and closed at 8. Its unfortunate that she doesnt get sick when the pediatrician is open but what kid gets sick when its inconvenient. I cannot recommend taking your kids there or yourself.

First of all they should have sign on wall of what to expect for cost, which is ridiculous. $400 for a PA to ignore what you are telling them are symptoms, be rude as heck and then just do the standard thing (write a prescription for antibiotic?) Better off just going to ER if cant wait to see primary care. Im going to ask if they want to rethink the charges and come up with a fairer deal, especially since they did nothing helpful at all and spent all of about 5 minutes with us. If they are fair and reduce it to about $100 (which is what standard price was for one in Durham) then I may consider revising review (though I will still never ever go here again.)

After spending a year seeing various specialists and undergoing uncomfortable and invasive procedures to try to find the cause of acute gastro-attacks, it took a PA (Whitney Crain) at MedFirst to suggest an ultrasound, which showed severe gallbladder issues. I had my gallbladder removed the next day. Apparently my symptoms were atypical; even the doctor who read the results of the ultrasound said he wouldnt have caught the problem had he not seen the ultrasound. So thank you Whitney - may you go on to have a long and glorious career as an outstanding diagnostician!

Extremely rude and unhelpful staff. I spent an hour and a half waiting with a hurt back and two children only to see the Dr for five minutes. After my prescription was not sent to the pharmacy I tried to call the office. No answer the first 5 times. Last time I called I got a women at the front desk who said the Dr was with a patient and would call me back. Nothing no call back no medication waste of my time and money. If you have any kind of real problem go to the emergency room.

Horrible. The front desk receptionist, Kimberly, was horrific. Absolutely unprofessional, she was laughing in my face and being sarcastic. It was like she could tell i was not feeling well and was trying to egg me on to start a fight. I didnt even want to see a doctor after dealing with her. Who ever hired her to be the face of their practice made a huge mistake. I would not take my child there if they were sick and Med First was the only place open.
