I find this veterinary practice to be friendly, competent, and affordable. Pros: Close to my home in a large shopping complex with ample parking. Affordable care, with prices on par to my vet when we lived in Tucson. Generally I find things more expensive locally, so the prices are nice and appreciated. I find the office staff to be friendly. The veterinarians are personable and friendly, practical and seem to really adore animals. Watching them whisk away a new kitten for a "nail clipping" (to show her off and cuddle in the back) is funny, and makes me appreciate that they have moments of levity in a practice that can have a lot of un-fun moments, dealing with sick animals all day as they do. Cons: the office is about 1/5 as big as it needs to be to accommodate the staff and patient load. Uncomfortable outdoor style metal chairs line the worlds tiniest waiting room. **NOTE** This issue will soon be resolved as theyre building a large and patient centered practice nearby from the ground up. Its very much needed and I cant wait to visit the new building in the fullness of time. In the meantime, Ive waited outside with a wailing cat before to avoid the dogs and people sardined into that itty bitty waiting area. Not my favorite thing to do by a longshot. Essentially its out of their control in the interim, but its something to note and does impact the customer experience. There is one thing I think the staff/management can work on that would make a difference. Waiting in the waiting room can be stressful, which makes the checkout and paying process that much more uncomfortable. The check out process involves standing for inexplicably long periods at a postage stamp sized counter with loads of others trying to check in or out or pay or pick up food or medicine, etc. Its hands down my least favorite part of going to the practice. Ive taken to bringing along a helper to go wait in the car with the stressed out pet so I can stand there staring awkwardly at people. Its often unclear if you are waiting for something or nothing. Suggestion: Complete the checkout paperwork stuff before the furpatient and humanperson leaves the exam room. When the patient emerges, payment can be taken right away to expedite the check out process and prevent some of the awkward waiting room bottle neck that happens. Id very strongly suggest a way is found to take payments in the exam room if that can be swung. This will serve to take a large chunk of the crowd from that waiting room at a given time, and stress the animals (and their people) less in the long run. ***this might also be a temporary issue depending on how the flow is designed in the new building, but IMO should be considered to ease congestion in that area*** Overall I like both of the vets Ive seen, and Im pleased I found the practice. Im even happier they recognized a space issue and theyre working hard to resolve it. Reasonable pet loving people work here and its appreciated :)

My fiance and I recently acquired a kitten and immediately turned to Claus Paws for veterinary care. I was able to get an appointment for her right away, to begin shots (as I didnt know if shed had hers) and set up an appointment with one of their many talented doctors for a spay. When my lovely kitten went into heat (driving the household--both human and cat--crazy), I called them to see if there were any openings in their surgery schedule. They told me that as of that time they didnt, but put me on a list to call if a surgery time opened. They called later and I was able to take her in early. They were extremely kind and helpful with spontaneous, obnoxious questions from me! They gave me advice that has helped my kitten, even in the month that weve had her. She is healing very well from the surgery. They even called to check up and see how she was-- both the wonderful doctor who performed the surgery and the clinic! Ive never had a vet office do that before! Thank you Claus Paws, Dr. Evert, Clauss, and all staff! Always bringing in Ekho to you!!!!

This place is FANTASTIC. Caring, friendly, competent, and even appreciative of my overly-friendly and energetic pitbulls (and tolerant of my similar three year old son). Very reasonably priced compared to other places Ive been over the years, and always clear about the range of options and prices. Ive never felt like theyre upselling me on procedures and add-ons (which was the reason I left my previous vet: they started to remind me of smarmy car salesmen). In fact, theyve finished cheaper than estimated for every major procedure theyve done for my dogs, though their policy of capping the final bill at the max estimate is very generous and appreciated. Theyre expanding their practice soon, too, so I can happily praise them without worrying theyll get too busy for me, though Ive never had trouble getting a prompt appointment. I just cant say enough about these friendly neighborhood professionals, Im truly grateful that I found them.

I trust Dr. Evert at Claus Paws Animal Hospital with the life and health of both our cat and dog. She is very competent and caring, she goes out of her way to help our pets, and my pets feel comfortable in her care (which does make a difference!). Dr. Evert makes sure to keep us informed so that we can make the best decisions about caring for our pets. If there is a difficult decision to make, she has presented us with all the options. The service at Claus Paws is excellent, and they are always able to find time on a short notice. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Prices and value for services are spot on. The facilities are clean and professional. I would recommend them to anyone who loves their pets.

Theyre amazing. Weve been to another vet in the area who seemed to take more interest in our money than our pets, but I havent felt that at all at Claus Paws. The staff is SO friendly and love all of the pets that come in. They take great care of our two cats and we look forward to our appointments with them. We have some high maintenance kitties that need their flea med dose to be administered by the vet and theyve been more than happy to do that for us every month! Their prices arent the lowest but they arent the highest in the area either. Ive found it to be a fair price, especially for how well my pets are cared for. Id recommend them to everyone. Flea meds are very accessible.

I have NEVER heard a bad word about Claus Paws or the Vets there. I got to experience first hand how wonderful, professional, caring, kind and genuinely concerned they were for my two cats, Ryder and Lulu. I felt the warmth, kindness and heart felt welcome from everyone: the receptionist on the phone, the receptionist working in the office the day of our visit, the Vet technician and Kathy were all so very awesome to work with and I am happy to have found her and Im glad we switch to Claus Paws. Thank you for the absolute best service; it was a great surprise to be treated so nice and our cats to be cared for so deeply. You all are awesome!!!

Our dog had a lump on his back, and we wanted to make sure it was not cancerous. We expected that the vet would take a sample and send it to a lab. Dr. Evert did take a sample, but, rather than send the sample to a lab, she examined it under a microscope while we waited. She informed us that the lump in fact was an infected old wound (perhaps from an insect bite or sting) and was healing on its own. She supplied some ointment to speed the healing process and sent us home. Both she and all of the staff were very kind and friendly. The appointment, sample, microscope work, and ointment came to just under $80. We recommend this clinic highly.
