A sudden and unexpected sneeze came about and in the moment of release, a severe pain in my neck replaced the usual feeling of relief that follows a sneeze like that. It was agonizing and I really had no idea what to do. My head was literally stuck in a sideways position because moving it straight or to the opposite side felt like someone was taking a pair of pliers to my nerves. After an hour or two of "Waiting it out" I figured I would try a chiropractor, of course the first place to come to mind was "Emergency chiro-practic, the kind of care, you want today!" I figured, this was an emergency, and I definitely want care today. I gave them a call and they clued me in that they only take emergency cases coming from something like an automotive accident, but they were nice enough to refer me to Dr. Steve. By the time I got a hold of the good Dr, it was after hours and on Saturday, but after hearing that I was in such pain, Dr. Steve insisted that I meet him at his office so I wouldnt have to go the entire weekend before getting some relief. Which was super cool of him! He immediately made my pain turn from a 12 out of 10 to more of a 4 or 5, and then set me up with a follow up appointment the next week. We got setup on a twice a week routine for a few weeks to take care of the immediate pain as well as help to restore my out of alignment spine. At the time, and this was a few years ago, he put on a cheesy new patient class which helped me learn all about the spine, how it worked, and why keeping it in line helps all functions of your body and also can prevent needing to take drastic measures like surgery, injections, or permanent prescription drugs. Yes it was cheesy, but I think I learned something from it. I know Im getting a little long winded at this point, but I assure you its worth the read. After a few weeks of getting adjusted, I started to feel much less of the daily back pains that you normally just ignore, theyre no big deal right?, I started to have more energy, and unexpectedly, I stopped having such negative reactions to eating dairy products. Weird, I know. Apparently, lining up your spine properly and allowing the electrical currents to properly flow through your nervous system also has the side benefit of helping your internal organs work as they were naturally created. Who knew. :-/ I have to give one big THANKS to Dr. Steve and maybe a high five too. I no longer have to avoid those frozen dairy desserts!

There is a time and a place for medical doctors, prescription drugs, physical therapy, emergency rooms, massage therapy and chiropractors. My wife and I had our annual physicals the Thursday before Labor Day 2013. At that time we were both given our tetanus shots. By that evening, my wifes arm was totally swollen and painful to move. By the next morning, the pain was severe. Throughout the long weekend, we tried Rx pain medicine, and hot/cold treatments. Nothing worked. By Tuesday morning, she could not take the pain any more. I brought her to the emergency room. The doctor took an x-ray to rule out pneumonia and sent her home with Valium to relax the muscles. (Didnt help.) Went to Massage Envy for 1 1/2 hr deep massage which provided temporary relief. A business card display had Dr. Steve SHOUTING at me to call SpinalWorks. On Wednesday, I looked them up on the Internet, read reviews, and made a call. Got her in within 45 minutes. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Pleasant Christian outpouring with smiling faces willing to help. The typical question: rate your pain from 1 - 10. She responded "20". After only the first 2 treatments her pain is now rated at "0". Just had another treatment and several other problems have disappeared. Even though she is partially blind, she was able to make homemade chicken noodle soup and bake some caramel rolls because she felt so good. She even brought some to her 3rd appointment. She is looking forward to another appointment. Great job, Dr. Steve!

I found this office by doing a "search nearby" to my address. I booked an appointment for 2:30PM. I arrived at 2:20 PM to hand off the new patient forms to the receptionist and answer any questions she may have for me. I waited until after 3PM to see the doc. He spent about 5 minutes with me while taking 4 x-rays. I was then sent over to PT for electrical stimulation and a hot pack. When finished with PT, I had to wait another 20-30 minutes to see the doc. He told me that I needed to come back the next day for another session. He would not be in the office but I would see the substitute doc. He did not review the x-rays with me presumably because there were about 12 people backed up waiting to be seen...every chair was filled as was PT. The doc is nice enough and seems competent. The office gals are polite. I am giving rating of 1 because it should not take nearly 2 hours for this kind of chiropractor visit. At the most, I should be in/out in 30-45 minutes. During the time I was in the office waiting, there were a total of 4 new patients. This doc does appear to allow any extra time for new patient interviews. It seems like far too many patients are booked in than can be handled by one doc. If he were to cut back on his bookings and not make me wait 20-30 minutes to see him then I would change my rating. Until then, it will stay a 1.

I was able to get in the same day. But thats because they cram as many patients in a day as possible. The girls at the front desk are rude. Horrible customer service!!!! They wouldnt honor a coupon I found for a free massage after my appointment, even though I brought it to my second visit 2 days later. I was given the option to buy the free coupon for $20. Then my insurance adjuster said I could claim my chiropractor appointments on my insurance from my car accident. Since it was over 3 weeks from the accident they wouldnt do it. My insurance adjuster told me to go else where, which I am.

This was by far the best experience I have had at a chiropractors office. After I missed my initial appointment I was promptly re-scheduled and not chastised for the fail. During my visit I was greeted by a professional office environment with literature and educational material regarding health and fitness. Aside from the spinal adjustment, Dr. Steve also took the time to teach me a stretch I could do to alleviate some of the tension and tightness in my lower back and glutes. I look forward to making Spinal Works Chiropractic a regular part of my health care plan.
