I have several autoimmune diseases, so seeing medical professionals has never been something Ive had the luxury of not doing. The dentist, always seems to get the worst rap. Ive seen so many dentists over the years I cant even remember all of their names, but I was a heavy cigarette smoker, and heavy narcotic user for over 10 years. I have been in recovery, and sober and clean now for 13 years, and I can say when I made the decision to finally handle all the dental work I needed done, I sure as hell picked the right dentist to do the job. Other dentists had told me that I would need surgery in my mouth and quoted estimates to me over $4000, which on disability, I cannot afford. The initial phone call with the reception in the front, the people you usually deal with more than the actual doctors themselves, were so kind, and so courteous, I already felt less anxious about the dental visit. The doctor was incredibly nice, awesome bedside manner, the staff seemed happy in their job/office, they explained everything to me thoroughly so that I understood what the plan was going forward, which for me is huge, because Im used to doctors throwing medicine at me and never discussing what the actual plan is. I am type A, Virgo, nuerotic and that was exactly what I needed to keep me calm throughout this process. Due to severe sensitivity, I have to have my entire mouth numb before they can even do a cleaning, and the topical numbing doesnt work, so they have to do the injections. I know how much of a pain in the ass it is, because it takes up a lot of time, but not for even one second did they make me feel like I was a burden or that I was taking time away from another potential patient... Sadly, I have experienced that in other dental offices over the years. Today was the second of four appointments that I made. And I actually dont cringe when Im driving to their office. I mean this with all sincerity, as I dont typically spend my time reviewing people places or things, unless it really counts and needs to be said, which this does. Dr. E is hands-down the best dentist Ive ever had the pleasure of meeting, he went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable with this not so comfortable process, and I will tell everyone I know about that office. My Insurance company finally got something right!

Ive been a patient of Dr. Elbert for a few years now and I can honestly say that I am a lucky person for coming across his practice. My interaction with dentists in the past has been purely business. I go, in, get the work done, Im out. I didnt even know the names of the people who worked on me and I doubt they knew mine. With Dr. Elberts practice, they truly care about you. Everyone says, "hi" to you from the receptionist at the front, to every person you pass on the way to your chair. And its a genuine "hi" with a genuine smile. Over the weekend, I had some filler for a chipped tooth come out. I called Monday afternoon to see when they could fit me in. By 9:20 Tuesday morning I was in a chair and by 9:50 I was out the door. But it wasnt just "business". The doctor and his awesome assistant Jennifer sat down with me and went over different options. Filler again? File down the excess as long as its not too much? They gave me their opinion and I gave mine and collectively we decided on what would be best. And the work came out great- dare I say, flawless. The point is, going to the dentist is never a pleasant experience for ANYONE. But you should find someone that will legitimately make you feel safe and comfortable. Thats what this practice will give you. Down to earth, caring, fun people that enjoy what they do. I dont want someone working on my mouth that hates their job and Im sure you dont either.

Had my first cleaning with at Dr Elberts office today. Great office, great cleaning, no up-sell pressure just a great cleaning and great check-up with the Dr. At my previous office there was a lot of pressure to do several preventative fillings. My teeth are in really good shape and I couldnt understand why I would want to drill into perfectly good teeth to do preventative filings. I understand that I have deep valleys in my molars where sealants used to be but I just didnt see the reasoning behind that. Dr Elbert did find one small cavity but it was a far cry from the 8 preventative fillings my previous dentist wanted to do. I love my teeth cleanings and to me its like a spa day for my teeth so when I go to the dentist I really dont want all of this used car saleman up-selling pressure. I would recommend Dr Elberts Office!

It took me a long time to get the courage to go back to the dentist after a bad experience I have had in the past. Lets face it, no body looks forward to going to the dentist. I was fortunate to get referred to Dr. Elbert, when I had a terrible toothache. His office is very friendly and not at all intimidating. It doesnt even smell like a dentist office, which is a huge plus. Dr. Elbert is very kind and attentive and upon meeting him I felt totally at ease. Not only did I feel absolutely no pain during my procedure, but I felt nothing after the numbing wore off. That has never happened to me before. Later that night, I got a call from Dr. Elbert personally to see how I was feeling. In todays day and age, this kind of service is unheard of. Now Im a regular, every 6mo. I actually look forward to coming here.

I experienced a miracle in dentistry this week. Thank you Dr. Elbert! You made the impossible possible. You were able to rebuild a molar that had been filed down by the previous dentist to the point where there was no tooth to build a crown on. Your compassion, expertise and PAINLESS-procedure were blessings to me. Who would have guessed your state-of-the-art digital, optical computer technology could design a perfect crown in just 2 hours!!! I now have the best bite I have had in more than 20 years. The Thousand Oaks Smile Design office has a staff that is so caring and happy that my years of anxiety regarding dental trauma virtually disappeared. Thank you again Dr. Elbert I give you 10+ stars out of 10 stars. Could you become a teacher? The world of dentistry could be transformed.

I had a wonderful experience here. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I went in to get veneers and worked directly with Dr. Elbert and Meghan. Im not exactly the biggest fan of dentist offices but since the moment I arrived here I felt comfortable, welcomed and in competent hands. Meghan is a doll who makes the visit nothing more than catching up with an old friend and Dr. Elbert is a kind man whose main concern is your comfort and happiness. He is a perfectionist of his craft and strives to be the best which you can clearly see in the results. I couldnt be happier with my veneers and cant recommend this team enough. You dont even feel the numbing shots and the team is so incredible you dont want to leave! Go. Here. You wont regret it.
