Our beloved Sally (a 16 year old Beagle) was not doing well at all. We had been discussing her health with an increasing recognition her quality of life had greatly diminished. She had become completely deaf in the past six months and had episodes of an inability to move her hind legs. Each time Sally recovered and we got to spend a little bit more time with her. When Sally stopped eating last Wednesday we created some special dishes but nothing seemed to interest her. We worried but this had happened before. When she was even more lethargic on Thursday we knew we needed to see a veterinarian. Our problem was our dissatisfaction with the vets we had used over the past ten years. Both were professional but seemingly disinterested in our Sally. She was just a beagle rather than our Sally. I googled for other resources and scanned the reviews of Mid Valley. Dr. Pitt and ALL of his staff are simply wonderful . Dr. Pitt knew the situation instantly and compassionately dealt with Sally and with my wife and me. He listened patiently as we spoke of Sally and explained our options to us. He advocated putting Sally at rest only when he was certain we concurred. Sally gave us 16 great years and was our lovable beagle before the world discovered beagles. We told Sally her breed had finally been appreciated when one recently won the best of show at the Westminster Kennel Show. I think Sally was proud. Sally is now with our other pets and they are showing her the best places to get a back scratch. Thank you Dr. Pitt and please thank everyone of your staff members. Well....those were my comments made 8 years ago. Dr. Pitt was wonderful however our last two interactions were with Dr. Oh and the experience was NOT satisfying. Here is how it went last Monday, October 10th. I am so disappointed. As you can see from my earlier reviews I praised Mid Valley for their compassion. All of that changed today. In May I took our 14y/o cat to be seen for frequent vomiting. Dr. Oh indicated it was likely either inflammatory bowel disease for lymphoma. He stated in either case the treatment would be daily prednisone. Despite the prednisone, Chester never regained his appetite and continued to lose weight. Ultimately, five days ago he simply stopped eating. That suggests it is large cell lymphoma. As painful as it is to lose a pet we knew it was time to allow Chester to stop his struggle. I made an appointment for 10:30 and arrived at 10:12. I immediately confirmed, what I had stated when I set the appointment, that I was there as I knew Chester needed to be euthanized. The front office staff was incredibly compassionate and could see I was pretty upset. At 10:40 they ushered me into one of the exam rooms. There I sat until exactly 11AM. At that time Dr. Oh entered and I noted Chester had not improved and he quickly agreed it was time to let Chester go. He was with me absolutely no longer than a minute. He said he would return. Almost immediately one of the front office staff came in and said they would place a catheter. I confirmed I could see the final injection. She left the room, with Chester, at 11:02. At 11:22 one of the veterinary aides returned with a sedated Chester. He apologized for the twenty minute wait. I then waited another 9 minutes, with the sedated Chester, before finally Dr. Oh reappeared. I complained that it seemed unreasonable to wait an entire hour when there was no need for a diagnosis or exam. He simply shrugged and stated there were "unexpected events.". He then euthanized Chester and within three minutes of Dr. Ohs reappearance....Chester was gone. Total bill $198. If anyone has a better veterinarian please let me know as I will not be returning to see Dr. Oh. I am giving them two stars but only due to the kindness and courtesy of the front office staff.

Dr. Pitt is an angel...let me tell you why. Shortly after moving from East Coast to West, with all 3 of our rescue cats, we needed a Vet for an emergency. When you are new in town it can be hard enough to find someone you trust with the lives of your pets (my kids), let alone someone who will not take advantage of you in your time of need. Buster, our (then) 3 year old Turkish Angora, had suffered for a full week of petite mal seizures - we did not know what they were because they lasted only seconds. On the 7th day we found him full blown epileptic seizure, a horrifying sight to say the least. We rushed Buster to Mid Valley where he was seen by Dr. Pitt. He identified his problem in seconds, administered life saving medication to stop his seizures (which lasted at least 24 hours after arrival) and kept him for the next 48 hours. The day after he was admitted, I arrived unannounced to see how he was doing - once again Dr. Pitt jumps in, advises his staff to bring Buster into a room (there was a FULL lobby of people, but they gave ME a room) and told me to take as long as I needed. We spent at least a half an hour together and nobody bothered me to leave or give the room back. Fast forward to Thanksgiving 2013 - Buster had been doing very well for the past 4 years. However, the Tuesday before the holiday, Buster is leaving blood on the carpet and is not himself. Too bad it was now 10 p.m. and Mid Valley was closed. We took him to another HORRIBLE hospital who kept him until Thursday...two days later we rush him back to the (nameless) facility for a free recheck. Buster was having an urinary blockage and had blocked again. The heartless "doctor" tells me that I should put him down because hell probably block for life. I frantically called Mid Valley who told me to leave IMMEDIATELY and bring him over. Long story short, Dr. Pitt saved Buster again with surgery and 10 days of hospitalization. The charges for both incidents were so very reasonable, as Dr. Pitt is incredibly compassionate. I will not say why they lost the 5th star, because I will only speak kind words about Dr. Pitt and he is NOT the reason for that. There is a special place in Heaven for people like Dr. Pitt, and I suspect that he will be surrounded by loving and grateful pets & owners when he arrives there (which hopefully wont be for decades to come because ALL of our pets need him).

Warning!!! If youre bringing a pet due to an injury. Go somewhere else. These "veterinarians" dont care about your pet. They dont attend your pet with you present. They take them to the "examination room" and dont tell you what they will do. Later they come out with a big bill, with a list of things you cant even prove if they did or not. I took my cat there because he was attacked by a stray cat. They said he was fine, "washed his eye, and examined him" my cat was soaked on his way out. And they provided me 2 types of medicines. A week later after realizing his wounded eye wasnt getting any better I took him to see a specialist and a numerous list of problems with his eye were introduced to me. They attended my cat with me present, and I was able to witness how they treated him with care. I knew EXACTLY what I was paying for. If this Location would have examined him the right way maybe his eye and his health condition would be better. Now my cats life is in jeopardy. Watch out for this place. Its not the first time this happens to me here. They just want your money and take advantage of the fact their business hours are longer than most in the Valley.
