I was 34 weeks into my second pregnancy when I started to experience severe back and hip pain to a point where I could barely walk. I was very stressed out considering I had my two year old daughter to care for/keep up with and 6 more weeks left before my baby was due. I called my doctor and they referred me over to Atlas. It didnt even cross my mind that this was something that could be solved with physical therapy, but sure enough that is exactly what happened. Karl (Bebendorf, owner of the practice and PT extraordinaire) was immediately able to diagnose me and get me started on recovery. He knew exactly how much PT would be effective but also that I could handle being in the later stages of my pregnancy. I went three times the first week, due to the severity of my pain and lack of mobility, and then twice a week for two more weeks. The sessions, combined with the exercises Karl gave me to do at home, made me virtually pain free by the end of the third week. It was wonderful. Karl was so great. Aside from being extremely experienced and professional, he was very sweet and friendly. I felt like I was in good hands, literally. I also worked with Luke a couple times who was also pretty great. In fact, everyone at Atlas I came in contact with was really nice and professional. Furthermore, being my daughters primary caregiver, there were times I couldt find anyone to watch her and had to bring her with. No one batted an eye and made sure to accommodate her as well as me. To her credit, she was very well behaved (thank you iPad) but when she did get interested in what I was doing, Karl would let her be involved. This review is glowing, I realize, but it is truly the experience I had. I cant express enough how stressed I was from the pain I was having before PT. My second little girl was born exactly two weeks ago and she is perfect. Im so grateful to Atlas for helping me feel strong and healthy enough to bring her into the world.

Ive been an athlete my entire life, and unfortunately have suffered 3 major knee injuries. Important to note because I have had many experiences with PTs, doctors, alt medicine, anything to keep my body healthy and recover, Ive been there. In August 2016 I dislocated my knee rock climbing, re-tearing my ACL, tearing both menisci, requiring two complicated surgeries 1) repair the ACL, then 2) meniscus repair + root repair. I hobbled into Atlas PT (where Ive gone for a shoulder injury as well), and presented Bri with a challenging project to help me rehab my extremely atrophied 4-surgery-repaired right knee. She and Chantel were organized, and appropriately pushed me when I needed it over the 8 months that followed. I am still on the mend, but I have never been so pleased with health services before. They know what they are doing, they listen to you and your body to get you back to your life. They are fantastic with post -surgical rehab, as well as less severe bodily injuries as I witnessed them with other patients during my time in the Uptown location. Plus the whole staff is made up of just genuinely nice people.

Working with Jamie Bovay was a great experience. Because the issue I was seen for was an exacerbation of a much older shoulder injury, the pain was diffuse and difficult for me to explain. Jamie worked patiently and diligently to identify and treat multiple sources. He used a myriad of techniques and exercises and was always ready with a new idea to try, instead of taking a “this is the protocol I use” approach. A gifted teacher, Jamie also took time to explain things in ways that made sense, which inevitably enhances patient compliance and makes the process more interesting. His willingness to explain in as much or as little detail as the patient wants combined with his dynamic treatment approach reflects a passion for the work he does. Jamie’s skill, persistence and creativity have given me lasting relief from an injury that has nagged me for 20 years. I would recommend his work to anybody seeking effective and respectful treatment in a comfortable environment.

I called Atlas after my recent surgery to make sure that they had a physical therapist there who had experience dealing with post-op peripheral nerve patients. The receptionist immediately put me on the phone with Jamie Bovay. Jamie assured me that he could assist me. I had a great experience with Jamie. Jamie always asked me how my day was going before we got started with therapy (I think thats a nice gesture!). As a former athlete, I need to be challenged during my physical therapy sessions...and Jamie understood that and considered that when planning my sessions. I felt challenged and monitored (a good thing because sometimes I can go a little overboard) at the same time. I think its important for a PT to understand each and every patient. Jamie understood me and I am very grateful for his work. Also, the other employees at this location are happy, polite, and its a fun atmosphere to be a part of! Great PTAs :)

After a car accident in March, I was experiencing back and neck pain and was searching for a new Physical Therapist. A co-worker of mine recommended Atlas Physical Therapy since it was in Uptown and I am so glad she did. Jamie Bovay does absolutely amazing work and he is very communicative, skilled and I feel like he’s really mastered his craft. He pairs his treatment with a variety of exercise techniques during our one-hour session and it’s incredibly helpful. He is focused on getting me to feel as close to 100% as possible and he consistently gives me a heads-up when there is a risk involved with a certain technique he’s doing. I’m so glad I found Jamie and would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for an amazing Physical Therapist. The staff there is very knowledgeable and friendly so my visits are always pleasant.

My experience at Atlas Physical Therapy has been absolutely amazing. I was referred by my pain management physician after experiencing a lot of hip flexor and lower back pain. Im not a fan of pain medication and had not experienced any relief from injections. Ive been meeting with Bri Wahl once a week and Ive seen an incredible amount of improvement in my pain levels and mobility. Weve not only worked on physical exercises and stretches, but shes done some dry needling on my hips as well. I honestly dont think I would have seen the results I have without PT. Shes warm, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. The staff is always so welcoming and they work with my busy schedule. I highly recommend this clinic!

The staff at Atlas PT Uptown are incredible. The girls upfront are professional and on top of appointments and billing. They are very welcoming to everyone and get to know their clients. Luke is the man :). Ive required a lot of body work over the years and have seen a lot of "professionals". Luke is much more knowledgeable and caring than any of the others. I was seeing Luke for a torn hip labrum and some shoulder issues. I still go to Luke for maintenance when my neck locks up. After he needles and adjusts me I walk out of there like a normal person again. I will be a regular around there again after my labrum reconstruction surgery next year. Highly Recommended!
