I had a pet budgie and she was experiencing occasional diarrhea over the last few months. Overall experience with the clinic was not bad we had check-ups there frequently. In the beginning of June we met with a DVM named Kristin Sinclair or as she calls herself "Dr. S" for a scheduled appointment. She did a regular routine check-up including a nail clipping that resulted in a nail being cut too short. A Quickstop agent was applied at the time. My budgies diarrhea continued over the next few weeks so I then called and e-mailed pictures to the clinic. After reviewing the attachments she e-mailed back suggesting we do a fecal culture and blood test. I initially agreed to both and brought my budgie in on the morning of June 24th to complete the procedures. However after looking at some videos of blood tests during the previous night I hesitated about the blood test and told the Vet when I arrived. We then proceeded with the fecal culture. Dr. S used a long cotton swab and pushed it into my budgie. I was horrified because the budgie is so tiny and I expected her to collect fresh droppings onto a paper towel like regular stool exams. Nothing of that sort was mentioned at all when I e-mailed her previously to ask about the details of both procedures, she simply said all my budgie needed to do was poop (stated clearly in the e-mail). Following the fecal culture I brought her home and she started to squeak in a crying voice. This was a unique sound that she never made before. There was also fresh drops of feces mixed in with blood which Dr. S said was perfectly normal. The squeaking continued and my budgie looked increasingly exhausted. I called back the clinic telling them about the symptoms and they dismissed everything as minor irritation. Later that night she was getting worse and stopped eating. We called the emergency clinic in Wilton, CT that was open after hours. One of the vets at the Wilton location was kind enough to meet us at the clinic after their closing time. Just as we were getting ready to leave, my budgie vomited multiple times. By the time I arrived at the Wilton clinic Snowy was in fairly poor condition and was not alert at all. The doctor then gave her some antibiotics, anti-inflammatory meds. and pretty much provided as much supportive treatment as possible; we were given a poor prognosis. She said it is very likely that the vet at Kensington applied too much force or inserted the swab too deeply. Note that Snowy with occasional watery stool was behaving perfectly fine and was very active on the previous day and even the morning of the 24th. We allowed our budgie to board overnight so she may receive additional treatment in the morning. On the morning of the 25th we received a call from Wilton, our budgie had passed overnight. Kristin Sinclair is a highly incompetent individual, I am writing this review to inform people so they dont have to experience the same tragedy I have. Avoid this person like the plague please, for your own benefit!

About a couple years ago when brought parrot who got loose to check up Dr sinclair took blood from birds neck then later that day when went to pick up bird because he collapsed after that. They sent me home with antibiotics they had given him. The next day after work found him dead in cage. After burial service when getting rid of his stuff..the medicine bottle said for cats only. When recentlly went to see diffrent vet there for reptile she was good with dealing with adopted but second time to see docter zee for my pet lizard she stated what had to be done and left room. I was already anxious because one tech that answered phone said we will put it in pile and she will get to it when she can. So at this I was agitated and dint want non certified tech drawing blood or anything of that sort. The docter got upset when trying to ask her about procedures and diffrent types of meds to be used or safer alternatives..like gas instead of I.V sedation for lizards and that did not want tech to do the meds if they are not certified. She then got upset and stated if I dont trust her or staff to go else where and she refused to see me and that to pay and ask that I leave. I am thankful male secretary was kind to give me vet referrals pamphlets of good vets that are certified and experience with exotics. Paid and left and week later in mail recieved unprofessional notes with medical records. I dont know what is wrong with these people but my pets are like my family so I will be protective and asks questions and if that offends them then its better to go else where.

Dont take your pets here!! They dont care about you or your animals, they are only in business to take your money. I rescued a sick cat from a shelter and brought her here, they didnt give me any answers to her illness and merely gave her steroids to control the problem for a little while. After multiple visits, I was racking up huge bills with no solution to my cats illness. I explained to them that I dont have much money and I would be willing to pay the bill in monthly payments. This was not an option. They told me I had to pay for everything right there. After reviewing the medical documentation, I noticed that I was being charged for treatment that had never been given to my cat. They explained it was a mistake that they charged me extra. I think they tried to scam me for more money. The doctor never once gave me an estimate for my cats treatment. The bill was outrageous! They will charge you for EVERYTHING, from disposing needles to shaving some hair off. I recommend never trusting this vet, they are only in it for the money!!!!

I called the Kensington Bird and Animal Hospital with fledgling pigeons that had been separated from their mother prematurely when they fell off a roof, and although I was referred to them by a vet, they refused to take the birds. She said they only take injured birds...well does falling off a roof qualify? I was leaving to go out of town and asked arent they all about animal welfare and she said NO! When I threatened to drop them off anyway, she said she would wait to get my license and report me for abandoning the birds. Ive been the one whos standing by them & went to great lengths to get them this far and THEY are supposed to be in business to help birds. THEY ARE THE ONES who are abandoning the birds.

I just wanted to say that I was extremely happy with the treatment this office provided for my cat Blackie last week. He is doing much better now and is no longer vomiting everywhere. :) The meds they gave me helped and he actually really likes the food as well. Im in the process of slowly converting all four of my cats over to wet food as well. They seem to be taking it well, especially Blackie. Thanks so much for taking care of my sick family member. I must say that their bedside manner was many levels above my past 2 vets as well. They can definitely expect my return business in the future for my others.
