I read the reviews before bringing my puppy to see this vet and although the majority of them were not totally positive, this Dr was highly recommended by a friend so i still brought him. The visit started off ok..waiting room was clean, resident cat was friendly, receptionist was friendly (although she was filling in and had no idea how to answer any questions). She didnt have us fill anything out and was pretty unprofessional. When we finally got into the exam rm it was dirty and my puppy had no problem finding garbage to chew on. The tech while came in didnt introduce herself so i assumed she was the Dr but aftrt i asked a question about my pups breed she let me know that the Dr would answer my questions. The Dr never introduced herself either and didnt answer any of my questions. My pup was having diarrhea and she said he was too young to have a tapeworm but definitely had one and had a high content of bacteria but That it wasnt causing the diarrhea..and then left and came back with a syringe of something she didnt explain and just gave it to him. So i never got an answer for why hes having diarrhea..also they brought in a bag of medications to give him over the next month but didnt tell us what any of them are..and also in the bag was frontline flea meds but i didnt realize it until i got home and opened the bag and on top of it all they charged me for it! All in all the visit was kind of a huge fail..i mean we never even got an answer for the diarrhea..the staff wasnt helpful or professional..we got charged for things we werent even told we were getting..my puppy got a shot without my consent of something i wasnt even told about. Ill never ever go back. On a good note (despite her being unprofessional and uninformative) Dr g interacted really well with my puppy lol.

I started bringing my stray cat Monsta to Dr. Giel 9 years ago. She won me over from the start with Monsta when she kissed him. Ive had a string of cats that have had serious ailments and none of the other vets showed the same level as concern as she does. She is down to earth, but also very well versed in the knowledge of her field. It was determined he had feline aids. Through the years- he had numerous mouth infections, teeth extractions, urinary infections, etc. and many times was in very bad shape. She really worked on giving him a good quality of life and she was very compassionate from the start with him. Recently, he had to be put asleep because of a fast growing tumor which really took a toll on him. She was very kind and understanding through this difficult process and this goes for her staff too. I would definitely recommend Dr. Giel- quality care and very reasonable pricing too.

I wish I could give this ten stars for a review. I have recently switched to Norwich Veterinary Hospital and my only regret is that I wasnt there sooner. Dr. Giel is great. She is very down-to-earth with a wonderful "dog side" manner. I have three senior dogs, one of whom has a seizure disorder. Having senior dogs can be trying, especially when one knows "that time" may be coming. Dr. Giel is a very calming presence and soothing regarding these issues. Her staff is equally compassionate and caring. I would recommend Norwich Veterinary Hospital to any pet owner looking for high quality pet care.

Recently went back to Norwich Veterinary after rescuing a Chihuahua who ended up having bad dental issues. They were very caring, prices are fantastic (even the Humane Society was ridiculous compared to Dr Jo and staff) and we love how they just treat your animals like one of their own. We switched our now diabetic cat to them and got MUCH better care than another vet in the area, and recently rescued a kitten with an eye issue that they took care of quickly. I hope to have Dr Jo and her staff of amazing caregivers for a long time to come.

I had to bring my 20lb cat for a general health exam by myself. I couldnt get him into my cage so he was free balling in the car. I asked the front desk if they were able to provide a cage and get him out of the car.. they did with no questions!! They were all extremely helpful and nice. They were gentle and caring to my big kitty.. they made both of us very comfortable. I left the appointment not hurting my pockets and a free cage that they so nicely gave me!! 10/10 will recommend to anyone looking for an affordable vet with great staff.

I have had many visits at this vet and have never been unhappy. It is clean and they take good care of me. The receptionists vary in their levels of speed but they are all obviously animal lovers and seem to care about me when I am there. The doctor(s) are very very considerate and the care has been just fine. I have no idea why someone would write a bad review, but based on my experience, this is a five star vet.

I value a Dr. who listens to my observations, respects my concerns, and treats me and my animals respectively. Norwich Vet Clinic has, on numerous occasions, both with routine and emergency care, treated us professionally and compassionately.
