This review is based on almost 8 years of experience with Pedicare Pediatrics: 2 years with one child, and the following 6 years with two children. In a nutshell, if you are looking for a pediatrician who offers an individualized approach that uses the least invasive and most natural therapies before resorting to antibiotics, you need to look further. Dr Laugel in particular lacks both the knowledge and the interest in anything other than conventional medicine. As there is a growing number of parents out there looking for pediatricians who practice "whole child" medicine, integrating complementary therapies with conventional medical practices, I find Dr. Laugel`s approach quite unfortunate. Under the care of Pedi Care Pediatrics, my children were prescribed antibiotics countless times. It`s not that I am absolutely against my children taking medications but I strongly believe that they should be used with extreme caution and they should not be prescribed for a 1 year-old for an ear-infection for example when the baby has no fever and does not even act fussy. To my knowledge, even the AAP now sets this same guideline to avoid antibiotics when it comes down to treating ear infections. I do not want to go into too many specifics, but when Dr. Laugel missed a diagnosis for my 7 year-old daughter who had flu-like symptoms (high fever for 4 days, loss of appetite) and very swollen gums which I kept mentioning at the visit, I knew that the time has come for us to leave this practice. It`s not a good sign when your pediatric dentist ends up diagnosing your daughter with primary herpetic gingivostamatitis less than a day after you saw your pediatrician. Quite honestly, I still cannot understand how Dr. Laugel missed it. With the arrival of our new baby last summer, my husband and I finally made the decision to walk away from this practice. It was not a rash decision but one that has been a long time coming. I would like to mention that what kept us here for so long was the extraordinary care we received from Dr. Mongillo at the well-child visits. I do have the utmost respect for him but sadly, when my children were sick we very rarely got lucky enough to see him. What I will miss about this practice is him, the convenient hours and the wonderful front desk and medical billing staff (who were always polite and helpful). What I will never miss is having to second guess whether the prescription my daughters got was absolutely necessary or could there have been something less invasive to treat their illness.

I met two of the doctors, Dr. Mongillo and Dr. Laugel in the NICU when my daughter was born in 2010. I loved them and have been with them ever since. All the doctors and staff remember my daughter and she loves going there! Its nice to belong to a practice where we arent just another #. They are very knowledgeable and provide great answers to any questions I have. Another great thing is that they are open to any information that I bring to them and ask about. I also love the practices hours. Nurses will call me back within a reasonable amount of time if I call with questions. I never had any billing issues either. I recommend anyone to this practice.

All of the doctors and nurses are wonderful! Both of my children have been so well cared for by the staff, and they are quick to make sure that your child is seen and evaluated. The on-call service is wonderful for first-time parents at 3am with a sick baby, and they take the time to talk to you and explain things. Separate waiting rooms for sick -vs- well checks is awesome, never had a problem with billing/insurance. Theyre awesome.

My children are well taking care of at Pedicare, the doctors are all wonderful. My favorite being Dr. Johnson. The hours are perfect and the kids can even be seen on the weekends. Great office to trust when it comes to the health of your children.
