Caban Skin Institute Review for Google I recommend avoiding this practice. I went to this facility earlier this year to have my back checked for some suspicious moles. I went because they accept Medicare. My appointment was at 10, and I arrived with my paperwork already completed. The waiting room was so filled there were people standing. At 10. It was obvious I had no “appointment.” I had been scheduled for a cattle call. Although my paperwork was not requested of me, the girl at the front did demand I produce my credit card, and she promptly ran through a charge of $85 on it, prior to any service being performed. “Oh, it’s to get your deductible,” she said. I asked her how she could know what the charges were going to be for my visit prior to any service being performed and she said, again, “Oh, I’m just supposed to get your deductible.” Caban’s staff is enormous. There must have been upwards of ten young women running around the front area. Most appeared to be involved in billing. I waited over an hour past my appointment time to be called, standing at one point to allow an older person the chance to sit. I was, at several points, a hair’s breadth from walking out. Finally, I was quickly ushered into a room, whereupon a nurse practitioner appeared and advised me she would be the person seeing me that day. I advised her that that was not correct, and that I had notified the practice that I was coming in to have a doctor look at my back, and biopsy, if necessary. She glanced at her file and walked out. Another 15 minutes went by. I was a hair’s breadth from walking out. Finally, Caban swept in. Barely speaking to me, he quickly examined my back, sliced off three little pieces, and swept out. I was not given a chance to discuss my concerns, including my desire to have something to which he did not pay attention removed. On my way out, a different girl at the counter demanded my credit card again, and ran through another charge, for an additional $104! I contacted the practice afterwards to inquire as to the multiple charges, and was treated rudely by Caban’s staff, including his practice manager, who told me she was (illegally) recording the call. I ultimately had to request a chargeback of the charges processed by this practice against my credit card. That got their attention. Some time later, Caban himself directed the reversal of all charges. Although I came out of this with no financial damage, I cannot recommend this experience to anyone else. Unfortunately, this may be the increasing picture of healthcare in the U.S. in the future.

I am very disappointed with this place. I spent $1800 for a miradry procedure and I do not think that it was done correctly. Before the procedure she called me and asked if I could reschedule the procedure because the doctor would not be there. I told her that I was unable to reschedule because I had already took that day off. I stated that I would just go someone else and then she said no I can come in, and to my surprise the doctor didnt even come in for the $1800 procedure. The person who did it kept telling me that I Definitely would need 2 Treatments, there are tons of doctors on realself that state that their patients only need 1 treatment. I caught her trying to do the miradry on a level 1 instead of a level 5. I have called their office over and over again but I never receive a call back. I heard her telling someone in the office that I took out a loan to get the procedure which is nobodys business. The procedure did not help me at all, not even 1% improvement, she had some other lady come in and work the machine the lady had no clue on what she was doing. I should had ran out of there once I heard her say that their machine broke multiple times but I had already paid the $300 deposit. I will not recommend anyone to go here, they are very unprofessional and the wait times are extremely long, I cant even get a call back from this place even though I just spent all of that money, FYI I have to pay the loan back so its my money that was spent.

Never saw Dr. Caban and this is my second visit. First visit I had Dr. Nancy and she was very helpful and patient. Second time I had another nurse that was so rude, she never told me her name. I continued to be nice to her because thats just my personality but she only got worst, like she wanted me to get an attitude. She didnt look at my skin she had the worst attitude Ive ever seen in any office. She was not knowledgeable of anything I asked about, neither did she care about the fact that she should at least know about a Microdermabrasion as a nurse practitioner. I had to speak to another nurse because the other nurse rushed. The other nurse was a little better but still impatient and smelled like a box of cigarettes. Im never going back to this location. You will NEVER see a doctor its full of impatient nurse practitioners that dont help you at all. They only care about that insurance money!! They just encourage you to buy their products without telling you much about it and get mad if you dont reschedule an appointment for a check-up. Who would want to come back if they treat customers the way they do.. I should have gotten my money back. You have been warned.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Avoid this place. This clinic is insurance hungry. My first visit I had to wait two hours even though I made an appointment.They were more worried about my deductible then the reason for the visit. After the long wait I didnt even get to see the doctor just the nurse assistant. During the second visit I also had to wait a long time and finally when I was called back to the room, I could clearly hear the nurse discussing my insurance and deductible with the doctor. When Dr. Caban came into the room I could tell he did not want to attend me. He took a couple minutes to basically refer me to somebody else in the same field then told me to come back after being seen by the doctor he referred me to. After the second visit I felt like I was getting the run around. After finally seeing a different doctor, he explained to me that he could not see why Dr. Caban could not have performed the procedure that I needed in his office. Next time I will be sure to read the reviews about a clinic before going.

I was very unhappy with the level of service I received. I made the appointment over the phone and explained the services I required. I was told I needed a consultation and they only did that type of consultation on Mondays. When we checked in upon arrival, I was told that they could go ahead and do the procedure. Ummm... I dont think so! Not without a consultation. Their response was we dont do the consultations at this time, but they may be able to make an exception. They confirmed that they would go ahead and do the consult and to have a seat. I had an appointment for my daughter at 3:30 and by 5:30 we were still waiting. The first time I went up to the front desk to see why it was taking so long I was told there were three people ahead of us. An hour and a half later, the response was that everyone was waiting and they could not tell me when she would be seen. Unacceptable and totally unprofessional. I would not recommend this office to ANYONE!
