Used Dr. Ngo for a few years as my primary care doctor because my first vist went well and he seemed very nice and caring. But can say I was repeatedly disappointed for many of my returning visits. First they would send my prescription to the wrong pharmacy several times after telling them the issue before leaving my visit, took over a year for them to finally get it right. They also refused to give me a physical without a blood test, which they coded incorrectly to my out of network insurance and Id get billed 300 for a blood test I did not need. I dont know if this is Florida law, but Ive never needed a blood test for a physical before. They refused to refill any of my prescriptions this year because I did not come in for an appointment in over 8 months, without getting a physical first, I would not been seen to refill my meds. I told them the blood work is not covered by my insurance and still would not work with me, telling me that it should be and to call my insurance which I already knew the answer they would tell me. Unfortunately I needed my medications for migraines soon and could not wait on finding a new doctor. I took the physical and blood test, coming back normal as the twice a year physicals shown before, not much suprise. Not only that but several times I requested to see Dr, Ngo and not one of his NPs about my anxiety and depression and other issues. I havent seen Dr. Ngo since probably late 2014, and until recently he has had many different NPs so I was never seeing the same person. I also felt very rushed during my appointments but usually waited on average an hour for someone to see me.. but my appointments would last 5 minutes and Id be rushed out with a script for only 1 month and a followup in a month. I felt that my concerns were not heard. I felt like they were too tight on scripts, and constantly paying a copay every month.. I get some are controlled substances but others I was able to get 6 months worth of because one of your NPs must have made a mistake, though the insurance companies wouldve caught that? So thats also why I didnt need to come back for a while..then Im told I cant get more than a 30 day supply? Pay 90 bucks for a 5 minutes appointment where you ask me about my life and then sign the script and send me on my way. Needless to say, I hope this review, as long as it might be, helps someone not make the same mistake as me, I would not recommend Dr. Ngo to anyone...

Service was HORRIBLE!!!!!!! We traveled to Florida from Oklahoma and my son apparently came into contact with poison ivy. His eyes were almost completely swollen shut with his whole face and neck swollen. His body was 80% covered with red welts and rash. The practitioner working that day told me she was unable to prescribe anything to him due to his age (5yo) and so we left. Uncomfortable with how quickly he swelled up from his first onset of symptoms (less than 12 hours), and how swollen his face was I sent pictures to a Dr. back home in Oklahoma. They immediately faxed a prescription to the closest Walgreens for steroids and in 3 days he was able to enjoy his birthday trip to Disney World. When I called to dispute the charge I received, the billing department was very unhelpful as well. They said that according to records I received an Atarax prescription. First of all, I did not receive any prescriptions, but even if I had Atarax only would have taken care of the symptoms of itching that he was experiencing. It would have done NOTHING for his swollen eyes, face, and neck! He then preceded to tell me that if I had a problem with that diagnosis I should have disputed it with the practitioner at the time. Well easily said, had I known! I am not a Dr. so therefore although I felt uncomfortable with not being taken care of, I was unaware whether the information that nothing could be done for him was true or not. I am NOT a Dr. that is what I went there for! I only later became aware that he could have been taken care of with steroids. I will admit that it took me awhile to call and dispute the bill, but for them to tell me although really no services were rendered besides looking at him and telling me he was to young, I was stuck with the bill. I obviously will never be back, but wanted to warn others of this place. Sounds by some of the other reviews, Im not the only one. Wish I had not been desperate at the time and would have read reviews before driving into the first clinic we drove upon.

After deciding to leave my doctor of ten years,I decided to give Dr. Ngo a try, as he was located very close to my home. I was leaving my previous doctor because........... initially, he was a highly recommended doctor, and one I found to be very knowledgeable and patient oriented. Over time his bedside manner changed. He became more focused on his hobby of semi-professional bike riding, and left me with the impression that he was only working to support that hobby. Office visits became rushed and he seemed distracted. Enter Dr. Ngo!!! I found him to be VERY knowledgeable, and a great diagnostician. Add to that, excellent bedside manner and a doctor truly caring for the well being of his patients. Enter his penchant for quarterly blood tests.........I was a believer that having blood tests once a year was adequate. WRONG!!!!!!! I dont like getting stuck any better than the next guy. But I learned, in the process, that what your bloodwork tells you, is like a roadmap to your health!!! Almost immediately, my initial bloodwork told Dr. Ngo that I had a very serious condition existing. I am a saver of my blood test results. I was able to pull my records for the past 10 years with my previous doctor, and learned that my condition raised flags all the way back. The doctor that I HAD thought so highly of, was simply ignoring them. The bottom line is that Dr. Ngo IMMEDIATELY spotted it, and informed me that my quality of life would decrease, and my life expectancy would be shortened, if I didnt have surgery for the problem ASAP. Needless to say, I had the recommended surgery as soon as I could get scheduled!!!! Also, I have found that Dr. Ngo does not hesitate to refer to a specialist, or order the appropriate testing if necessary, for the well being of his patients.

I first visited HealthNow as an Urgent Care center about four years ago. Dr. Ngo provided excellent medical service as well as addl time and patience with me and all my questions and concerns. HealthNow and Dr. Ngo are now my Primary Care facility. The fact that their hours are from 8AM-8PM, six days a week is not only unusual but practical and reassuring to me. I decided to write a review myself after reading a very negative review and in defense of this medical practice. As far as the review talking about the charges, this person apparently didnt have or didnt use medical insurance for the visit(s) in question. Needing a follow-up visit suggests some kind of tests were done and probably blood work. In my experience, using insurance, I have never been billed any additional amount by HealthNow. Besides, if this person needed to know how much it would cost out-of-pocket, they should have asked for an estimate and not wait until billed to dispute it. When it comes to my health and treatment, I for one, am willing to absorb any addl cost. My health is my primary concern. I am very pleased and comfortable with HealthNow and Dr.Ngo. The staff is friendly and efficient.. I dont have a long wait as with other practices Ive experienced. Yeah Team.!.
