This is not based on how successful/unsuccessful the treatment as been, but on the basis of the service that they have provided to a customer/patient. I was diagnosed with eczema and was given a prescription to help treat it. As a simple human being, I took it to the nearest pharmacy that was covered under my insurance plan, which happens to be a CVS. I went to pick it up later and was told that due to my age, I would be unable to use my insurance without prior authorization. This was on 7/28/2015. On 7/29/2015, I called my insurance in the morning, received the steps on how to get prior authorization, and then contacted Dunwoody Dermatology. My first call, I had to leave a voicemail, and received a call back in about 1 hour time. When I spoke with the young lady, she immediately said I should just try a different pharmacy, without even thinking of going through the prior authorization process. From what I could tell, Dunwoody Dermatology needed to call a phone number and get it authorized... Later in the afternoon, the other pharmacy told me that she had to contact Dunwoody Dermatology due to the amount on the prescription being an incorrect size and that she wasnt sure whether it would be covered under insurance. This prompted me to call Dunwoody Dermatology, which consequently, put me on hold for 25 minutes. I spoke with a representative and was told that they have the information for prior authorization and that they would speak to the pharmacist. After this call it was 4:15PM, so then they became unreachable. The pharmacist stated she couldnt get in touch with anyone at the office. On 7/30/2015 (Today) I received a call from the other pharmacy, which is a Publix. This time, the male pharmacist told me itll cost me the same exact amount I would have had to pay without prior authorization. They said they received zero insurance information and only received the new prescription size. At this point, I called Dunwoody Dermatology, told the scheduler my situation, and was told that I would have to wait until the doctor and the assistant were done with patients for me to get a call. Now, I know for a fact that the doctors and assistant are not with a patient from 8A-4P every single minute. And for them to take the next 2 hours to even answer the question of whether prior authorization was done for the prescription is ridiculous. If, a big if in fact, they finally call me back today, I will update this post. ALL I WANT IS FOR DUNWOODY DERMATOLOGY TO DO THEIR JOB, GET PRIOR AUTHORIZATION, AND GET ME MEDICATION SO I CAN START TREATING MY ECZEMA.

Where shall I begin with my experience? I went to Dunwoody Dermatology last Thursday, based on a search through my insurance provider for a dermatologist in my area. I have grown up in Dunwoody all of my life, so I figured that this place could be great just off of that. Well I could not be more wrong. The only positive to my experience were the nice ladies checking me and taking my payment. When I visited Dunwoody Dermatology, I saw Wayne Emineth, the Physician Assistant and he diagnosed me with an issue that is certainly not what I have, without even fully examining me (I did some further research after he gave me a write up and its just so wrong and not what I am experiencing). I explained to him what I had been experiencing with my scalp and the discomfort I have and he took two long stick cotton swabs, partially sectioned my hair, and pressed one into my scalp and said that I have folliculitis decalvans. He then proceeds to talk super fast explaining what it is, but not really. He started by saying that I was experiencing hair loss, which I am not; and then said in order to treat, I would need to have steroid injections in my scalp, which was very alarming and certainly made me upset. As I am trying to process this whole diagnosis and ask questions, he mentions Monica Kaufman in the 90s and her many hair changes and how she has no hair now, which I found very unprofessional and totally un-related to me. Aside from the fact that she and I are both African American women, I do not change my hair style tons of times (no disrespect to her) and what ever issues that has or does not have, have nothing to do with me, because she and I are not the same person. He then attempts to put me at ease by stating that, "I may be a pasty white guy, but I am an expert in the skin of black women." That comment never put me at ease, it only infuriated me because my whole time with him, he never once looked at the problem areas that I do have with my scalp. He prescribed me some items that I did not care to fill because I do not care to give him anymore of my money. Although he diagnosed me with folliculitis decalvans, as he is closing the appointment he stated that I look really good and I would not need to come back for another couple months... totally contradictory. As I left really discouraged and upset, I began to find another doctor to get a 2nd opinion and she was very thorough and helpful. Needless to say, I do not have folliculitis decalvans. I will never go back to Dunwoody Dermatology ever again. An absolute waste of my time and money!

To save you heartache please do not go to this office! Go to any other dermatology office, except this one! My experience all started in February when I originally went in for a mile check and occasional hormonal acne. After my mole check she asked me to wash my face to remove my makeup in which then she half handedly diagnosed me with Rosacea and put me on 2 topical medications. Mind you, before then I had no inclination that I had Rosacea. Fast forward a couple months, my face began to get worse. More red and bumpy than ever before. Therefore, she put me on an oral antibiotic which cleared everything up, but once I tried to get off it my face would flare. I was heartbroken and felt so sad and embarrassed that I will have this chronic skin disease. When I expressed my concerns with them Dr. Bellamy said "just act like its not even there like the rest of us do." Then and there I should have realized what I was getting myself into. Fast forward again to August, 6 months into this I saw Wayne The PA. PLEASE stay away from him! He is the most cold hearted "Dr" you will come by. I informed him I was ready to come of anitbiotics and that I was very concerned with my face and that it seems as if it had gotten worse since being put on all this meds and that I didnt want to live a life with bumps on my nose. He then said "well too bad, deal with it, its not going away" "its not curable." After than day I never returned to the office and NEVER will again! Drs as well as front office staff are rude, condescending, and only want money from you. I then made an appt with anther dermatologist and she assured me I absolutely do not have rosacea and that they diagnosed me wrong. I instantly felt like an elephant was lifted off my shoulders and felt so min relief. For 7 months I was so sad, worried, depressed and angry that I had a chronic skin disease that would only get worse with time and would have to be on antibiotics for the rest of my life. I am completely off all meds, started drinking apple cider vinegar daily and use apple cider vinegar every night as a toner and use juice beauty skin clearing wash and my face has never been better! Please please please stay away from this office!! They will not misdiagnose you to get money out of you and you will end up spending more money and tears than you ever thought.
