I hadnt been to a dentist in over a decade, and I decided to go with my wifes dentist because I didnt have a regular one that I went to. I didnt have any dental issues, per se, but since we had insurance and I had not had a dental check up in forever, I thought it was time for one. I got in the office and the receptionist was very genuinely courteous and friendly. I filled out my new patient information on a tablet--very convenient, I must say. When I got in and sat in the chair, I felt like a car getting a full diagnostic run--in a very good way! The dental assistant asked me a few questions and was also given very pertinent explanations as to why some questions needed to be asked. She was very friendly and pleasant. Then Dr. Dan comes in. He sits down, introduces himself, asks me some questions and then explains what the check-up will entail. He was very easy-going, friendly and thorough. My check up was harmless, painless, and very smooth. After the exam/check-up he gives me the run down. Ultimately, I need a couple of teeth capped and some gum work. These procedures are involved and will require multiple sessions. I am told that there is someone on staff who will help me plan on scheduling these procedures and will also help with what it will take to pay for it. Michelle is a sort of Financial Aid counselor of the dental office. A very pleasant woman who explained everything without making it all seem so daunting (or as expensive as it all sounded). She assured me that, "we are here to work with you". The most important thing that I can say that made this first visit a very good experience was the thorough explanations and information that was given to me. It also helped that everyone from the receptionist to the dental hygienist to the dentist to the insurance expert were ALL cordial, friendly, and pleasant. I felt like I was talked TO and not talked AT. Honestly, it almost felt like I was at a day spa or hotel, with how clean, friendly and sunny the office was. Being 45 and not going to a dentist less times than I can count on one hand, I have to say that I had a really great first experience here. I would definitely recommend visiting them. Maybe after my procedures are done I will do a follow-up review and give them the fifth star.

If youre in to the whole brevity thing......Strobel Dentistry is amazing, stop reading reviews for other dentists and just make an appointment with Strobel. If youve got a minute, Id like to expound. For 26 years I went to the family dentist, and for a portion of that time, I went out of my way to do so. When I finally decided that it was time to move on, a simple search for dental practices in downtown Chicago yielded Strobel Dentistry. The reviews for the Dr(s) Strobel were positive at the time of my search, and I hope to further improve upon that sentiment. Thus far, Strobel Dentistry has been perfect in all aspects; from Dr Greg, to the dental hygienists, to the admin folks, down to the aesthetic of the office, Strobel dentistry exudes professionalism. Ive seen Dr Greg for a variety of services, and hes exceeded my expectations on all counts. Coming from my family dentist, here are a few things that Ive enjoyed with regard to the transition: -Convenience: I live in the city, and the office (located in the loop) is easily accessible. -Modern Dental Technology and practices: Dental Hygienists, gum mapping, newer x ray methods, computerized systems, etc. -Transparency: Dr. Greg explained everything he planned to do before actually performing the work, and utilized the map of my teeth on the computer to show me the how and where. This entire processes made the billing much easier to follow. -Email reminders for appointments. -The well oiled machine: The fact that Strobel is well staffed with people who execute their particular job exceptionally, on every level, should not be taken for granted. For years I continued with poor dental habits because the reprocussions of those habits were not articulated well (or often) enough for me to overcome my own laziness as it pertains to taking care of my teeth. While the money might be in reactive dentistry, Dr Strobel and his hygienists ignore that fact when they encourage proactive dental care. Simply put, Ive recommended Dr. Strobel and Co. to friends, and I recommend them to you. And if you see a bald, red-bearded dude in the office, feel free to buy him a package of DenTek floss sticks as a thank you for leading the horse (you, in this particular instance) to water.

on 1/26/09 Drs filling work was sincere and they used dental dam and every good practice known to be available in very nice way. They seemed to perform everything with full caution and spent sufficeint time. However still I suffer from pain in the same tooth. (3/1/09) On 02/12/09, Alison cleaned my teeth as per cleaning appointment. To the best of my knowledge she did a very good job, my teeth looked cleaner in mirror. She asked about my insurance before starting to work on. I said "I will pay off right away, I dont have insurance". Then she went to check something ((with front office and came back. FYI, In my last visit 17 days before on 1/26/09 I paid $302 fully) . She asked me to repeat my phone number , office number, home number, office address, home address one by one and then started cleaning finally. Fro the above incident a simple excuse will be usual formality we do for all patients, but then We patients give our only body to Doctors with blind trust, but they dont trust us for 1% of money they make. After completing the work she asked Dr. Dan to come down and check up . He did a check up for five mintues. He found one brand new decay, which he could not find 17 days before even with five x-rays!! That was surprise to me. They told the cleaning exposed this decay which X-ray could not. They charged $85 for tooth cleaning which is very very fair for the professional work performed and $78 for new decay :-( mail me at [email protected] - will give you clarifications needed. Replace those 0 s in my email id with o. I wont visit them any more, neither I would recommend to anyone.

I was scared to seek out a dentist because of the costs and the stigma after not going for a long time. These people were so nice and helpful I felt like family after I left. I came in off the street seeking help and to my luck they were able to help me right away. Not having insurance I was afraid I would go broke trying to get help but the pain was so severe that I had no choice. The staff was so helpful and informed me right away that I dont have to go anywhere else and they would help me. I was in a chair in less than 10 min after walking in and then was treated and on my way home in under an hour, in other words SUPER EFFICIENT ! They fixed my filling, stopped the pain and when the time came to pay the bill it was LESS THAN 20% of what I paid at other dental offices! I walked out with money still in my wallet! Being a student on a student budget I was beyond relieved at this fact. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Efficient staff, Premium customer service and all at better than reasonable costs. Unlike most dentists he didnt make me feel guilty about not being a regular to the dentist for cleanings and check ups. I was so impressed I came straight home from my appointment to write this review. Thank You and God Bless You Dr. Strobel (Sr).
