I purchased a Groupon in 2012 for teeth whitening. When i visited the office, they recommended that i get x-rays done since they are covered by my dental insurance. The doctor examined my teeth and gave me a quote of their prices for getting different dental work done. I did not get any work done in 2012 and discarded the quote they gave me. This year (2013) i had a tooth ache and went to their office for treatment. The doctor said i need to get a root canal done. After the root canal, he said i needed a crown. I knew my insurance doesnt cover for a crown so i asked the doctors assistant to give me a quote for the crown and she orally said it was $300 and was not willing to giving me a written quote. I agreed to get the crown done and she asked me to pay the amount upfront. I paid for the crown upfront. The doctor gave me a temporary crown and wanted me to come after a couple of weeks for the permanent crown. When i went for the permanent crown, the doctors assistant Irene said that i owe them another $600 because my insurance doesnt cover for a crown. When i asked her (Irene) about the quote and payment in my previous visit, she said that she assumed that my insurance covers a part of the cost for the crown. She also said that since she gave me a written quote in 2012 she did not give me a written quote now. I donot have any problem paying for the cost of the service i received, but their intention to cheat their customers/patients is not at all acceptable to me. I wanted to talk to the dentist (who owns this business) to bring it to his attention, but i was not allowed to talk to him. He was in the next room while i was having this conversation with the assistant and can hear our discussion. Later he even passed us without trying to resolve the issue. PS: I just noticed all the good reviews in this site and the only thing in common among all the reviews is that all are anonymous. I am pretty sure these were written by someone in the doctors office.

I had a great experience with this doctor and the office staff. I had come to them after having my very first traumatic dental experience and in the midst of root canal and crown work. They took over my treatment and help me feel more relaxed again about going to the dentist. I am difficult to numb and Dr. Ferdkoff seemed so confident in my consult with him that he could get me numb while keeping me relaxed at the same time. And, he did it!! Still having discomfort with one of the two crowns put in, but I trust the doctor and his staff will help me resolve it. Also, aside from the doctors patience with my nervousness at first, Iryna was the other reason I came to this office. When nervous I babble and after being traumatized I was nervous about finding the right dentist to help me. Iryna was my first point of contact on the phone. We had several chats before my dental work and during my visits. She was always patient and nice, no matter how annoying i might get repeating things and babbling to ensure I understood what I needed to. LOL. If I didnt get a warm feeling about her via the phone, I would not have consulted with Dr. Ferdkoff because reception at my previous dentist was very rude and unwelcoming, and that was an awful feeling to deal with her even though the dentist was nice. If that dentist could have helped me, I would have left that practice eventually anyhow, simply because of the receptionist. Glad I found this office and Dr. Ferdkoff when I did!! I plan to continue going to Barr.Pro Dental moving forward and look forward to my first cleaning with them when it comes up. BTW, Carolyn, the dental assistant is caring and pleasant too!! Great office.

I have been dodging the dentist for years due to very bad experiences. Needless to say my teeth are a mess. I had to get a deep cleaning (which is not pleasant) and the Doctor performed it. I was the last appointment at 5:00PM and I could tell the Doctor was ready to go home. They called me a 4:30 to let me know that I can come in early because the Doctor was ready for me. She chipped away at my bottom teeth for over an hour when I finally gave up. Did I mention that a deep cleaning is not pleasant. Its especially not pleasant for someone who let their mouth get into the condition i did. My mouth was still numb next day so i know the discomfort was not due to lack of the pain killer injected into my gums and jaw. I was the only person in the office besides the doctor and the receptionist at 6:00pm and the receptionist had everything ready to close the office including the Doctors things. She then apologized to the receptionist and told her they had to stay a little longer because she had talk to me for a minute. She walked around the office and started grabbing props and began a teeth and gum maintenance class. (Embarrassing for some one my age but i needed it) I was inspired. She actually cared more about my teeth than i did. For the first time in my life I am maintaining my teeth and gums properly and enjoying it. I found my dental office for years to come. PS. My dental visits are a lot more pleasant now that Im not a mess.

After moving to Barrington area about 3 years ago I found Barrington ProDental on line. It was very close to my house and the hours were convenient. After my first appt with dr Ferdkof I felt very comfortable and convinced that I found the perfect dentist. Three years later I can only say they are EXCELLENT!!! Dr Ferdkoff is absolutely the best dentist I have had (and I had many) He did a lot of work including an implant and I am very happy. His staff is very friendly, professional and always there for you. Hygienist Nela is absolutely amazing!! She is gentle, kind, and has a lot of knowledge. She is always nice with a huge smile on her face. Now I am moving out of Barrington area and can only hope that I can find a dental office as good as Barrington proDental!!! I will miss them all !!!! Definitely recommend !!!

I was Dr. Ferdkoffs patient for many years. He was excellent and provided good work. However in the last year he was no longer taking appointments in Barrington. My family and I were seen by a woman who suggested I had a cavity that needed to be taken care of on the next visit. My daughter was told the same thing plus that her wisdom teeth would need to be removed. We switched dentists and after everyone in my family had been seen, we had no cavities and the new dentist reported that my daughters wisdom teeth were coming in just fine. We called Barrington Dental Wellness Center and asked that our records be forwarded. The girl who answers the phone at the front desk was very rude and never did forward our records. BEWARE!

I wouldnt reccomend this place to anyone. At first staff were nice when I called for an appointment but after that they werent helpful. Also, their deep cleaning is around $299 compare to my recent dentist it was $269. At this place you only see dentist once and for few mins. If you want to see your xray you have to pay $25 and only via emails. so becareful with anything you sign there.The dental hygenist told me that she would educate me on few stuff later and at the end of my appointment I asked her about the education she told me she would do it when I see her next time...which didnt make sense at all. I WOULD NOT RECCEMEND THIS PLACE. Find a different dentist. I had to deal once and I refuse to go there.
